- Gulangyu Island (鼓浪屿), located off the coast of Xiamen (厦门), Fujian (福建) Province in southeastern China, is a pedestrian-only island renowned for its unique blend of cultural heritage and natural beauty. Designated as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, the island spans approximately 2 square kilometers and is accessible via an 8-minute ferry ride from downtown Xiamen. Despite its small size, Gulangyu is a major tourist destination, attracting over 10 million visitors annually, thanks to its prohibition of cars and bicycles, which preserves its tranquil atmosphere.
The island's history as an international settlement has left a rich architectural legacy, with Victorian-era buildings dotting its landscape. This historical backdrop, combined with its status as a "traffic-free island," makes Gulangyu a distinct destination. The island is also known as "Piano Island" or "The Island of Music" (音乐之岛) due to its collection of over 200 pianos and its piano museum, reflecting its cultural significance in classical music. Gulangyu's highest point is Mount Lit-kong-giam (日光岩 Sunlight Rock), offering panoramic views of the surrounding area.
Gulangyu's significance extends beyond its scenic and cultural attractions; it played a pivotal role in the international settlement era in China, similar to the Shanghai International Settlement. The island's governance and policing were influenced by foreign communities, particularly the British, who established a municipal council to administer the settlement. This blend of Chinese and foreign influences is evident in the island's architecture, cultural institutions, and the diverse styles of its buildings and landmarks.
Today, Gulangyu is celebrated for its architectural beauty, cultural heritage, and as a symbol of peaceful coexistence between nature and human habitation. Its designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a 5A tourist attraction by the China National Tourism Administration underscores its importance as a cultural and historical treasure in China.

廈門市又稱鷺島，海上花園，浪漫之都，繁華之市，溫暖、溫馨、溫和之城，熱鬧、熱情、熱心，豐盛台灣小吃街流連忘返。
多年前.我從廈門坐船到鼓浪嶼.票價1元，現在35元，所以現在全部是北方外省人去遊，廈門當地人是不會去的，因為以前去過很多次了。
鼓浪屿玩还是不错的，就是节假日人太多了，上次我们一起去时买了很多珍珠膏很好用，好像是叫源美珍什么的
鼓浪嶼不要假日去，不要跟團，旅遊體驗是還可以的😃

有一年黄金周六万人上岛😂都说岛要沉了……之后旅游局就出了限流措施，不让旅客坐交通轮（2元，5分钟直达），只能坐旅游轮（35元，40分钟绕岛），班次预约

福建及廈門對比廣東深圳廣州.江蘇及城市,算是經濟嚴重落後的,幾十年前深圳被香港及台商進駐扶持,經濟火速提升到全國之冠,江蘇在台商加工代工製造業進駐之下經濟急速火紅比鄰上海,最近沿海省分外商出走本地製造業出走外國之際,福建才要統戰台商拐去廈門投資,為時已晚了,品牌外商早已經下令接代工的台商轉移去東南亞及印度設廠投資
三十年前父親家族參加旅行團去福建走尋根之旅,所到之處都是乞丐遊民圍住大巴下車出口伸手乞討食物及金錢
开发港子后日光岩还不够住在鼓浪屿的居民真够倒霉的。

旅行團便宜的團沒去（鼓浪嶼）被領隊騙了，
有機會可以自由行，然後在島上住一晚😃
厦门旅游必去景点就是鼓浪屿，这旅行团也太会避重就轻了吧😂。
我个人再推荐去八市以及集美的一些景点。
原以為他們會講閩南語..一聽是國語,,大陸說的普通話
鼓浪嶼是遊客區，要聽閩南語要跑當地傳統市場😃
遊客95%是北方外省人
这么多游客真够恶心。
