took your advice and did the same thing with my mpc 1000 (a few pads were double triggering so i took it apart, most of the graphite looked good tbh but a few had slid off/ripped so i just got rid of em all together, cleaned the glue off best i could and put 2-3 pieces of copper tape on the pads... yah its 100% velocity but thats what i use anyway - pads work way better now, theres no way that little piece of carbon paper was gonna trigger all the pads) - also sidenote i messed up the first time and added too much copper tape - on pad 1 some of the copper tape was touching the connectors on the outer edge and the mp reset when i hit the pad 1 too hard (heads up for people thinking they messed up their mp - its probably this reason) just replaced the copper and resized it so it wouldnt touch the outer edge and BOOM! back in business hate not being confident playing the pads on the mp, feel like i got my instrument back!

Thanks for the vid. So I don't get it -- you place the copper adhesive tape to the bottom of the rubber pad? The graphite was originally glued to the circuit itself...

i just did this fix myself and pad 1 was resetting the mpc, turns out i put too much copper on pad 1 (touching the outer edge) - just took the copper tape i originally added out and resized another piece of copper for it - working just fine now!

Hi, Larry! I've noticed that you have a full level on ON. How about velocity sensitivity with such method? Is it good enough?
    Have anybody else tried this?
    Peace!

I've had numerous folks do it and thanked me on how well it works. i dont worry about velocity because the mpc has 16 levels. do not let the tape touch the gold screw holes. i have another method i will post once i see how long it hold up under heat that i used on my 909.

UnfastenedBelt tape the sticky side to the pad not to the sensor. Instant results . I have since traded that Mpc to a friend but after 2 years it’s still going strong
