  • Our economy depends on nature. Minerals and metals are the bedrock of industries spanning renewable energy, sustainable transport, construction, and technology - and will play a critical role in meeting sustainable development global goals. Yet, our pursuit of sustainable progress must not be at the expense of nature. Responsibly sourced materials from companies that are taking a nature positive approach to production are critical to improving the wider sustainability of value chains, ultimately helping to halt and reverse nature loss at scale.
Speakers sharing diverse perspectives from across industry, the mining value chain and civil society will discuss why collaboration across sectors is essential for success. They will also touch on how companies can start to embed their own nature positive approaches while building partnerships with others to support a nature positive future for all. This dialogue will set the scene for the Sector Transitions to Nature Positive guidance the Forum will develop on the mining and metals sector in 2024, detailing the priority actions businesses can take to reduce negative impacts on nature and unlock opportunities across the value chain.
