Thanks so much Robin! It feels good to be back, and to be back in the studio creating. And yeah, I almost always add words/quotes/etc to all my collages. Dunno why, it just usually helps tie the whole page together I find.

Thank you for the tour! My mind started making a list of things I love. I love “collecting” little bits and pieces of this and that so this looks fun.

You are so welcome! I am very much a collector of interesting bits and pieces too. I’m trying to sort and organize them, but not sure if I’ll ever get through them all. Lol

@@JenniferDurdleArt I saw another video that called a similar collection an “en masse” book, so I think I was trying to figure out if there was a difference. I love how you collect bits from everywhere - that’s very me. I must have been a crow or raccoon or something in another life. 😂

@@Michieflymaybe we were magpies? En masse is French and translates to “in mass”, so literally just a large amount. So I think any Gluebook could fall under this, regardless of theme, etc, just as long as there’s a lot of images.

I am disabled and pretty much bed-bound. I’m sure you don’t remember me, but about a year ago, I found you and your videos and it gave me a drive and passion for collage. I asked you so many questions 🤣😂 I have been collecting, searching online, and fussy cutting ever since! I have found that I enjoy cutting much more than organizing so I have boxes of images of every size, medium, category and type you can imagine. I even got a 4 drawer file cabinet at an estate sale. I have watched every video of yours about sorting, organizing, different glue books, hauls, ect… plus everything else 😊. I would give up one of my Tim Holtz scissors for a 20 minute conversation with you so I could ask some questions. I’m kinda at a standstill. I have a bit of OCD and I just can’t figure out the best way to organize all this stuff! 📦 For instance, what if you decide to make a journal for someone who loves puffins or pink poodles!? When you come across an image that has an image on both sides, and they are both perfect for multiple categories, how do you decide? Flip a coin?😂 Maybe I am just a 🥜 nut. 😊 Anyways, ❤love to ya! Love your videos! 💐🥰

      Hi Alisha
Hi Alisha, and thank you for all your lovely sentiments, it really warms my heart to hear I helped inspired your collage journey. ❤️❤️. I do remember you actually; you’re only the second person I’ve ever seen with the last name Stubbs. I don’t think it’s popular here in Canada at all, I think it’s way more popular in the southern US? I think I prefer the organizing part (that’s my adhd lol), but fussy cutting is a very close second. And that’s absolutely fine that you don’t sort your images! Many collage artists don’t and that system just works way better for them. To be honest, as I’m getting my image stash finally sorted, I think there’s are some images I’m not going to sort into categories, and just leave them in unsorted baskets. I’ve found that when I’m going to collage I am reaching for my bin of “images that need to be sorted” more than any of my sorted bins. I think all my favourite images in there, then all other images sorted into categories for easier finding. So, long story short, I haven’t even fully discovered what ways of sorting work best for me yet!
As for your specific sorting questions: if I know I’m going to be making a specific journal in the future, I create a file folder or one of those plastic envelope things with that topic written on it, and anything I find while going thru my stash that’s in that theme, I drop it in its file. I’m currently using a cardboard box as I found one forger ago that perfectly fits a bunch of files stood up, but I may change that to a dedicated drawer in a filing cabinet, if I accumulate too much stuff. Some of the files currently in said box are: strawberries/strawberrry shortcake, coffee, chocolate, bees, 80s/90s. Some did get really overstuffed tho, so got their own individual plastic scrapbooking paper storage cases, the ones Michaels puts on sale all the time. For now they’re stacked on top of my big ikea Kallax unit; not sure if that’s going to the their final home though. Also, fyi those plastic storage containers don’t fit in the kallax, so aggravating!
With images where I love both sides equally, and I can’t choose between them at all, I save them. I put them aside and go back and reevaluate them in the future. You could also scan one side and print it out, then you could use both pics. A bit about this tho, images in books, magazines, etc ate copywritten (unless they’re 100+ yeas old), so while you can copy them and use them in your personal projects, don’t use them in anything you’re going to sell.
I’m happy to answer any of your questions, so don’t hesitate to ask! And once I get my image library all sorted, I’ll make a very in-depth tour video. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Your book is AMAZING! You definitely have some themes I gravitate towards as well. And I love your choice of different themes for your scavenger hunt book that I have not seen before. It was so fun to watch your flip through and get inspiration for mine.
Have you ever gone to the World's Longest Yardsale (AKA Highway 127 Sale)? It runs from Michigan to Alabama the first Thursday through Sunday of August. Some vendors/sellers set up early and stay later, but those for days always have sellers set up.

Thank you for your kind words Susan, it’s heartwarming to know I inspired you! ❤️❤️ No, I’ve never been to that sale, I’m in Canada, on the east coast above Maine, so it’s a bit of a trip for me. I do have it on my bucket list though. It would be a good little vacation. But, if I’m being honest it’s myself, I’d probably need to rent a cube van for it. 😂
