Honestly, Frieren has a wide cast if lovable characters. But Denken is one of the best ones. His story is actually quiet sad but also inspiring.

I assure you that all those feet shots are absolutely crucial for the plot 💀
I know I sound so weird replying to this in a serious manner. But feet, just like hands have always had symbolic meaning. In many cultures, feet has been considered the dirtiest part of the human body, as it is used to step on the dirt that we walk on. However just like this Anime, feet is used to denote lowliness. When we have scnes with Serie and another person, the shot of her feet with the other person's fully body symbolises that the other person is as low as dirt.
I feel like because of the internet, we associate feet with something sexual now. However it has always been a human thing in stories and meaning to associate the feet with something equivalent to dirt. Did feet scenes come before the fetish? Of course not, because the fetish existed as long as people's symbolic association with feet.
😅 I know I look so silly over explaining such as weird topic, but I just felt like it I guess.

i love this quote so much, as much as withen the anime but to the audience, dont be sad its ending, we will meet again.
actually, i watched the show with a different set of subtitles and there the quotes were written much more professionally. This just doesn't live up to the potential this scene had
After 1 season of Frieren, it easily became a top 3 anime for me. Just amazing storytelling, animation, characters, 1 liners.... Just an amazing anime all around. Could not see any flaws at all. 20/10 anime!
Elves must have perfect memory with their long lives because Frieren and Serie still recalls Flamme's face and voice and conversations from past regardless of how long ago it was without struggle. I know they have long lives, but even young humans have difficulty remembering things from the past in perfect clarity no matter their age and we've seen proof with the elderly dwarf. Will we ever see an elderly elf that actually looks old because i dont believe I've ever seen one any any story, movie, or anime?
It’s usually implied that they are immortal or so old that the era of humans comes and goes before they die. They also seem to remember every bit of their experience. Frieren says she doesn’t remember meeting Himmel as a child but she probably did after he mentioned it.
Well the thing is, elves are fictional. They don’t play by human rules or have human limits. So it’s not that crazy to think they never age or have perfect memories etc

I think the brain is adapted to such a long live even if we dont think about fantasy, it wouldnt make sense for nature to overlook something like this. Evolution would definetly adapted. Without spoilers, there are spells that needs hundreds of years dedicated Training to master. We see an example of this next season. Without perfect memory, i dont think it would be possible. Also with that in mind, we know that time isnt in our favour in that world. There is magic, that a human coule never learn because of the time needed to learn it

I'm glad I'm not the only one enjoying Land's moments. For me, Land's twist was the highlight of Serie's test. Everyone's fighting for their lives and he's just there sipping his morning tea lmao.
Also I think Ubel already noticed with her intuition that he haven't seen Land face-to-face, that's why she said it'll take a bit longer to sympathize with him.

Wow. It’s over. What an absolutely amazing season. The story telling, direction, animation, lessons, and the CHARACTERS!! Just absolute peak. Early favorite for anime of the year 2024. Going to miss this one big time.
Also anyone else notice Stark is veerrryyyy similar to Himmel? Just like him, everywhere he goes he helps people and makes an everlasting positive impression. My theory is that Stark is the true hero who will save the world one day. Can’t wait to see more!!

Maybe I’m overreacting, but I feel like it was very bad of Lernen to try and end Frieren for something as volatile as going down in history. You have 2 elves who will remember you, nearly forever, free of charge.
But I understand that very visibly, Serie has been harsh, which undoubtedly led him to begin questioning his mortality and supposed “lack of accomplishment.” Mortal fear, in tandem with sentiments of squandered potential can cause even the most centered individuals to radically change in personality.
In other words, he’s an adult and should know better, but I acknowledge how Serie’s actions may have contributed to this unfortunate outcome. In the end however, one can only be utmost grateful for Frieren’s perception and understanding of the mind, though she may come off as ignorant of these matters.

Primarily its with Serie on how she criticized the accomplishments of Lernen... She didn't mean to be offensive or demeaning, but she, like Frieren, don't really pick up or know social cues of humans...
Lernen's fault was taking the criticism negatively and became narrow minded on what "accomplishments " he has already achieved...

Frieren pretty much described it perfectly, "Mages who know nothing but battle can be so awkward" referring to Lernen but also Serie, if not even herself before she met Flamme, as she was being awkward herself prior and after and fighting headfirst against the demons that raided her home village. But as she grew as a person she tried to understand human emotion, to say what is needed and not was is right or wrong. Its not so much that Lernen changed his way, more so, he didnt knew any other way to fulfill his teachers expectations of becoming a legendary mage like Flamme and Frieren, other than to battle a legendary mage. But fitting to his name, he learned from Frieren that he will be remembered for his deeds, knowledge and talent by his very teacher for an eternity, maybe even past the era of humans.

18:45 no, this one is! she could ask any magic in the world, but she asked domestic magic to piss Serie off. not just its a revenge for how Serie treat Frieren, but also Fern knows from Frieren Serie think that kind of magic is useless. not just piss off the most powerful mage in the world and get away with that, not just make her to give that spell because Serie can't break her own rule, but she may also teach Frieren this spell, which will make Serie totaly mad since Frieren declined her proposal 1000 years ago. Fern owned the most powerful mage in the world in any possible way in this episode and get away without even a rude word from her, that's the bigest flex anime even had...
the manga had even bigger one and its just spectacular. chapter 69, about imperial alcohol. an 1000+ years old legend about the best alcohol this world ever had rurned out being a trolling from an elf girl maned Milliarde, who lived in the same vilage with Frieren. it was chapest alcohol possible, that was given for free on imperor crown ceremony, it has disgusting quality. that girl got a huge stock of it, made a room underground for it, made a stone table about it(signed by her name ofc, that's how Frieren figured out it was her trolling), spread the rumors about it, and sealed the door with a seal even Frieren had too spend 3 months to study and despell. because of that millenium long trolling counless ppl wasted thier lives seaching this alcohol, that wasn't worth it at all. a dworf who asked Frieren to help spent 200 years of his life for it, which more than half average dworf lifetime. and all of that to taste porbably worst alcohol possible. this thing alone made Milliarde a favourite characted of some ppl(including me) in this manga, even if she was only shown for several frames. THAT'S THE BIGGEST FLEX EVER, i hardly doubt this even beatable in closest future. like she made generations after generations belive in a legend that was just her joke.
To be fair, as a collector it is common sense to choose the rarest item when you are given the chance to get a freebie to add to your collection. Fern choosing a legendary mythic level spell is a no-brainer as a fellow collector and disciple of Frieren. Even if the spell is completely useless, as a collector if given the chance to get a SSR or SR spell, I'd definitely choose the SSR one even if the SR one is more powerful.

Himmel was a real hero, he just couldn´t obtain the sword, that implies that profecies or whatever mean nothing
@@r.a.fgattaiguy845 Then what was the point of that sword in the first place? Unless the author has a plot twist about this event in the future, I can see that the demon king will return or a new demon will become a king.
For some reason, I hope this is how the plot will go. Himmel himself, not the true hero, is already a twist, but he is still a hero. We based the true hero on the legendary sword, not on how strong that character is or what achievements he has achieved.

Himmel was just some dude with a fake sword and he still saved the world with nothing but the help of his party
of course the sword could still be used later, but so far (imo) it´s point was simply that, to show the greatest hero succeeded without it
