    It's sort of hard to find walleye shore fishing videos. Most all of them out there are fishing in expensive boats with imaging, the works. Doesn't help you much when you're a poor deprived fishing fool fishing off a bank or channel 😅 Great video! Thanks!

      Dang! There are a lot more of these videos out there now. All kinds of them popping up on YT. I remember either last year or the prior I had to hunt all over to find a "Catching Walleye off the shore" video. There are now a bunch of them! Good deal!

    I’m not harping about snagging walleyes, I’m just wondering about your thoughts on working your bait upstream vs with the current. I was taught and I always have quarter cast upstream and reeled with the current however fast I needed to to be bumping bottom. I have believed it is a more natural presentation. Usually I use jig and grub, but sometimes I use a deep diving crank bait.

    I don’t know how to bump rocks without losing lures. I probably can’t afford walleye fishing because the rocks eat every lure I tie on. I wish I knew how you do that.

      Once you feel a bump from a rock or stump let it hang and suspend longer than usual. I find walleye love a suspended bait that sits for awhile then moves on. Just repeat that pattern over and over.

      you should try change the back hooks to slightly smaller ones it will make the tail of the lure rise up & put the lip in a more vertical hit against the rocks you are hitting. This should keep the hooks away from snagging on to those same rocks. I've done this with Rapala deep husky jerks.

    Good job young man! That current looks kinda fast! Stay safe!

  • @Beasel
    @Beasel 2 года назад +9

    I like a lot of your information.... but when you cast across current running that fast (perpendicular) almost all the fish walleyes you catch will be snagged. I frown on that practice especially at river dams like Peshtigo and DePere. A better way to do it... is look for a slack water pool or eddy off the main current. Fish swimming against that current (bigger walleyes) will seek out these resting and feeding areas. That way you can cast where the current meets the slack water and fish will actually eat the bait (engulfed in mouth). The Ripn Rap fish looked legit as far as being caught.... carry on!

    When is it the perfect time to go shore fishing for walleye?

    • @giantgaming600
      @giantgaming600 2 года назад +4

      Mid to late spring or whenever the water starts to warm a bit and then fall into winter, you can catch them all year pretty consistently but have better chances at those times personally I like late fall

    • @kevinerbs2778
      @kevinerbs2778 8 месяцев назад

      @@giantgaming600 you forgot to mention to go at dusk or just before the sun comes up. Walleye feed at low light & at night. Here on Lake Erie shores you can stay out all night & they come in waves throughout the night. Ever 30 minutes to up to around 3 hours later sometimes.

  • @TheBeefSlayer
    @TheBeefSlayer 8 месяцев назад +3

    I wish I could afford to get my 10-15$ lures stuck in the rocks to fish this method. 😢 I have to use curly tail grubs on lead heads. Single hook and I still lose lures. So I know you must be buying lots of Rapalas.

    • @DCBronzies
      @DCBronzies  8 месяцев назад +3

      You'll lose a few occasionally, but not as many as you think. Sometimes you gotta risk baits to put it in the strikezone of fish and maximize your opportunity. All part of the game!

      So fishing standing in the river or creek is called shore fishing. Just like fishing the ocean and wading out to cast is called shore casting. So this is technically shore fishing

    Stands in the middle of the river during spawn, claiming that the walleye are ‘crushing his baits’ as he’s snagging them. It’s obvious you have no respect nor knowledge of the species.

  • @fishonohio980
    @fishonohio980 Год назад +4

    1st off why are you using trouble hooks to catch a walleye.. during the walleye run I'm pretty positive that's illegal That's why you were snagging them..

    • @DCBronzies
      @DCBronzies  Год назад +6

      No, it's not illegal to use trebles on baits. I suggest you familiarize yourself with Wisconsin regs before making comments like this...

    You are young but I think your old enough to know the difference from shore{LAND} and wading {IN THE WATER} fishing. Get on the bank/shore/land and then you will be shore fishing and not wading.
