  • With TimeBolt’s 'Shift' feature, you sync cameras on a timeline in Premiere or FCXP, calculate shift distances, cut a master file in TimeBolt, apply those cuts to the other cameras, and export XML back into your NLE with all camera angles now synced.

Good Job guys! anyway..mastering this process in multicam is crucial, takes a lots of effort and any imperfection could cost extra time; are you planing to implement *autosync features* in the next future like Pluraleyes does? this could be *THE DIFFERENCE! :)*

Thank you! With the Shift feature, we can begin to explore stacking files once you know the distances so it can reference each file and apply the cuts. But as far as AI syncing with a click of a button, that will take some work. We have an exciting new feature in the works we believe editors across the board will find unique and valuable.

I still dont see the point for all this work to use multicam.. But at least i would like to see an easy stack between 2 cameras or basically imagine external microphone and normal footage.. That is crucial in my opinion but great work

Paolo...do you use Premiere? We released a new Plugin which makes quick work of multi-cam files. Here is video and link to plugin.... ruclips.net/video/OiC0WiDh1PM/видео.html

I have 2 external audio files for 2 video cams, i'm recording an interview video. Is this the best workflow for me?

I am 99% close to buying!!! This would save me tons of time! One question, not relevant to this specific video, but I make gaming videos and I like to keep my facecam separate from my game footage so that I can zoom in on my face in editing and take my face off-screen for storyline moments, etc. If I used this software to cut my silences out, how would I sync that to the game footage while keeping the two videos seperate? Hope I'm being clear!

How do you sync your video & screen recording today?

TimeBolt is built to make quick work of linear video. Capturing in OBS with your webcam overlaid atop the gameplay is ideal. You can Zoom in on your face only by dropping in effects after you export XML to your NLE. You'd just create a zoom effect once, and apply it to any part of the action. This way you don't have to sync to camera files first.

@@timebolt-rapid-video I use final cut pro and I have my game footage as the base clip. I then have my face cam above it in the timeline and make cuts on both clips at the same time to keep them synced. I first sync it manually by reading out menu selections while playing and line it up to the corresponding game play footage. So I would basically want to do that manual sync first in final cut pro and then upload to Timebolt to jump cut based on my speech (but also cutting the game clip at the same points) and then put it back in fcp with the TimeBolt cuts and my clips still separate and synced so I can zoom into my face cam, etc

@@timebolt-rapid-video That would be easier in theory, but unfortunately, I need my face cam to be movable in editing, not just for zooming. I play the Sims 4 on an xbox (so not ideal to have to also sit by a pc and move the cam in obs while playing) so there are multiple gameplay screens so I have to move my camera around in editing to make sure I'm not in front of gameplay features depending on which menu I'm in. I also need to be off the screen completely for some parts. I'm assuming by your response, the functionality I'm looking for isn't currently available?

@@melissabear6659 Yes, for now you'd have to do a manual sync in FCXP, find the shift distance between the two cams, follow instructions in this video, then import both XML files back into FCXP for final design work. We are working on plugins to solve the need to calculate shift distances automatically but for now it's an extra step for you. Thx for the questions!
