Impressive effort by Jeep. It does offer a lot, but it's very pricey. Then again, what isn't these days.

It's looks nice, but a bit worried about the 2.0 liter engine, powering a heavy motor. The VW touareg R has a 3.0 turbo charged V6 petrol engine pushing 400bhp and cost less. I do like the uniqueness of the jeep tho. I would go for the jeep if it had a diesel engine.

I'd take this over a Range Rover.

Just way too much money here in the UK. A Porsche Cayenne is cheaper here, as is a LR and a BMW. As usual Jeep get their pricing strategy totally wrong here. Of course elsewhere in the world they look reasonable value. Put it alongside the Discovery Sport and price it at that level, and Jeep would sell loads.

I'd like to know how it would perform as a caravan tow car. I'm not clear what happens to the power and torque figures once the battery power is used up. I realise that at that point, fuel economy goes down, but if you're towing, any potential reduction in power and torque figures could be a major problem.

Certainly an improvement on the previous model.....oh, and a great review btw.

If only Jeep wasn't part of Stellantis

Seems like Jeep (Stellantis?) has done their homework on this one. Looks great, should age well. I wish the mark success. Still, Jeep could use a better line-up of entry-level 4x4s, something it has never done especially well. Get the younger people into your brand asap with a cute but practical smallish 4x4 that can compete with the Subaru CrossTrek (for example) with nicer materials, warranties and powertrains. Better reliability would seal the deal.

Like the Avenger. There's a new Cherokee coming. A Jeep Wagooneer 4xe coming. Jeep Recon Electric coming. A Jeep Wagoneer S Electric is coming. A New Renegade and Compass should come in a couple years.

They should bring the 7 seats lwb. This one is too normal to make an impact. Better is to bring the wagoneer.

Jeep has become somewhat of a forgotten brand in the UK.
That's a real shame for them because they were doing SUVs before they became the must have trinkets that they are today.

Like the video....but .... ¹the 350k(+/-) in recll for sn UNACCEPTABLE defect that can happen while driving!...²there is NOTHING appealing about the sorry excuse of ev milage or petro milage for this kind of money,

The pricing on these is significantly lower these days if you shop around, at least in the states. Unless you're paying a premium (for RR Sport) or getting a smaller SUV (that doesn't have the off-road chops), the high 20's for range is about in line with others. And it's just for local driving. The 6 cylinder is quite reliable if you want a stat driving experience, but I'm not sure if they ship that abroad.

With other phevs in this class having much longer electric only range, unfortunately this misses the mark with its low range. Otherwise, it would've been a great contender.

I love it, I have a WK2 here in the UK and like the fact it’s not common. However; the price is a little bit ridiculous, but everything is these days

Good review, had one when I worked in the US mid 90s bought. Ainly for price and off road reasons. Few good trips in all weather's and surfaces, never let me down. Equivalent Range Rovers had more luxury but cost a lot more. Looks like new on is still good value and seems pretty good off and on road.

So small capacity petrol engine, big heavy lump of a SUV = thirsty as hell, needs a diesel. (and if the WLPT are saying 30 ish battery miles it is more likely to be under 20 esp in cooler weather.
Oh and that is where all electric tailgate buttons should be, not on the tailgate itself where shorter people can't reach them.
As for its off road ability, no doubt it will be really good as that is what jeep are know for, but "testing' it on an off road course designed by the manufacturer to show off their vehicle on their press launch is not exactly good journalism. At least proviso it by saying till you get one to test back on home soil.
No mention of the petrol only milage either unless I missed it. Prob because it would be in the teens.
This nothing more that an advert for Jeep by a reporter who was on an all expenses bash (abroad) paid for by Jeep, to promote their vehicle, who also did not even disclose that fact. Pretty piss poor.

Totally agree... far too many of these so-called reviews. Sorry adverts...
On the postive side it looks good. But everything else is a complete joke🙄

    • @jeffs6090
      @jeffs6090 Год назад

It's literally the dumbest place for the tailgate buttons. Unless you're a three foot child, tailgate buttons on everything else is not difficult to reach at all.

If you’re spending this kind of money on a car of this size, you probably have a driveway. If you have a driveway, just get a full EV instead. Ground up EVs have greater cabin space for their exterior size and instant quiet acceleration which feels more luxurious than anything running on dino juice.

      Or
Allow yourself Longer range by using a vehicle with a redundant internal combustion engine.

With respect, I don't like it very much. I know absolutely zilch about off road motors, but I'd buy the Defender any day.
