So here is my little analytic to this topic: As a German basketball fan (we won the fiba World Cup this year) the nba champions are surely the best team in the world, that doesn’t make them world champions though because it is just the definition that goes against it, otherwise the German World Cup team would stand absolutely no chance against the Denver nuggets. I mean the fiba tournament MVP, Dennis Schröder, isn’t even in the top 100 nba players list currently (even though the list isn’t extremely accurate and this was kind of a snub but it still gives you an accurate idea about of how big the skill difference is). And saying the US weren’t even in the top 3 is just giving off a false idea because literally not a single one of the superstars played in the tournament (not even international superstars like doncic Jokic or giannis), simply because the regeneration for the upcoming nba season was more important for them than the World Cup (they literally don’t even care about it) but since they faced this allegations LeBron wants to assemble the superteam LeVengers for the 2024 Olympics with all the superstars so let’s see…. Fact is, nba champions are by far the best and America also has still the best players all around but they aren’t world champions
As an American, that's by far the most reasonable and logic based comment I've read here so far, quite an understandable take. I think a lot of people just misinterpret "world champion" as "the best"
@@assassin_5656 thx Bro, I felt like I wrote a bunch of nothing because I basically said that they are the best but not world champions and stretched it over a bunch of sentences but I’m glad that people appreciate it 🫡
That's the point being made. I doubt Argentina, the current World Champions of Football, are a better team than Real Madrid or other such Elite Clubs. There are some foreign players in the NBA that, if just like LeBron, also decided to lead their own country, could actually have a shot as well. The point isn't that World championship competitors are better than NBA teams, it's that World Championship is in its own class and National Championship is also in its own lesser class. Same way nuggets would beat Germany, probably Madrid would also beat Argentina. So that point is irrelevant.
As a non-American it’s called world champion because no one give a sh*t about basketball league outside of the NBA(they are even bigger than the world basketball league)
Of course the NBA is the most competitive basketball championship in the world, but for being world champion you have to beat teams from the rest of the world. If you want a title, you need to gain it on the field, you can't claim it because you feel like you deserve it, even if you're by far the best team in the world: you have to play and win first.
Let me put it this way,if all the best American basketball players in the world participated in fiba every single year, they would win it every year, and it would not even be fair, they ar0e called the dreamteam for a reason ,it would be boring because everybody would know they would win it everyday.thats why they are called world champions because they are the best but they don't always participate in fiba because they don't have to if they don't want to.

And the players on those respective U.S. Men’s Basketball rosters can consider themselves to be world champions, thats no question. However when it comes down to club level, you can’t call the Denver Nuggets the “world champions” when there are only 30 teams and at least 5 of which are actively trying to tank games just to get the coveted first pick of the draft. 5 world titles in boxing and 8 weight divisions it simply does not matter as much as any other sport when there's 40 champions every year who win a single championship
But they want to be considered a "world champion". I always that a champion was also a warrior in some sense, risking injury is part of playing sports is it not?
@@WhyWouldYouCareYTNick Saban started that trend. I can respect his record but I think overall his type of mentality is bad for the sport. The exact same thing applies to Basketball, the Olympics and FIBA World Cup do not have enough global competition to even be taken seriously in the slightest, the FIBA WC made Dennis Schroder and Dillon Brooks look like perennial all stars. Team USA literally didn’t even have any of their best players competing in competition, they literally had an undrafted AR and their best players were Ant and Haliburton. If winning gold at the Olympics in Football isn’t enough to be considered a world champion, then winning a FIBA World Cup in Basketball isn’t enough to be considered a world champion over the NBA Finals winners. World Champion=the best in the world, to be the best in the world you need to compete against the best in the world, you literally aren’t competing against the best in the world in FIBA and Olympics. Just because the NBA is played in America doesn’t mean it isn’t a global competition, your only argument against the NBA is one purely based of semantics that are deprived off of completely different sports with completely different leagues and competitions.

So here is my little analytic to this topic:
As a German basketball fan (we won the fiba World Cup this year) the nba champions are surely the best team in the world, that doesn’t make them world champions though because it is just the definition that goes against it, otherwise the German World Cup team would stand absolutely no chance against the Denver nuggets.

There are some foreign players in the NBA that, if just like LeBron, also decided to lead their own country, could actually have a shot as well.
