    I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

      I think people are over the bubble nonsense claim that a "treehouse" rents for $2,000 per night at 100% occupancy. Also, she further exaggerates by claiming the property "nets" or "makes" 700k, implying the gross rents are even higher and the 700k is after all operating expenses.

    What this does not go over is the how they handled zoning. In many jurisdictions your city and/or county would not allow an individual to rent out these type of structures easily. Primarily this is because certain lots have restrictions.
    So they either A. lived in a lot that allowed multiple units to be built or B applied for an exemption. or C, never disclosed them as future rentals.

    • @newagemeditationmantrasand7860
      @newagemeditationmantrasand7860 Год назад +5

      I personally think they never disclosed their future rentals to the city. Because zoning is a nightmare. They said in the beginning that they bought the house for themselves on a large plot of land. The odds of them living in a suburban neighborhood that allows multiple units to be built on their land is low.
      And now that I think of it - when you build anything you need permits as well. Based on their construction prices - they never hired a licensed contractor. So, through ingenuity they have a nice income stream until the city discovers them and starts fining them for multiple permit violations and zoning violations.

    • @kateeco3850
      @kateeco3850 Год назад +4

      Yeah… the first thing I thought was - permits and zoning 😅 to build a tiny house within a month, sounds impossible to me… we are doing rehabs and permits are the nightmares.. and to find good licensed contractors in this market is even harder 😬

    • @danielbocelli

    • @Mastemine498
      @Mastemine498 Год назад +2

      They also never discussed any of the backend stuff, like plumbing, electrical, etc. All of these would either need septic systems (they look more rural based - not in the city, so no easy access to city sewer hookups, and they would have to have a huge septic system on site if they are all feeding into one if they are all being used at 100% occupancy.
      They said the one cost them $16,000, even DIY that doesn't even seem possible once you factor in those kind of costs.

    - Daryl and Patrice turned their home into an Airbnb property that made $700k in a year.
    - They started by renting out rooms in their house before deciding to build and rent out tiny houses.
    - Their first tiny house generated $25k-$30k per month, and they paid off the $65k loan in 18 months.
    - They built a barn-themed tiny house for $16k, which paid off in four months.
    - They expanded their property with a triplex of different-themed tiny houses and a treehouse, which generates over $10k per month.

    Great video. Impressive couple, especially being able to do this all debt free at this point. That takes a lot of the risk out of the venture when interest rates soar and during the economic downturn.

    How do people stay in those spaces with no kitchen and no bathroom? If they have 7 units and make 700k a year, each place has to make 10k/month. I don't see how that's possible. What am I missing?

    The Tree Houses have no running water and no kitchens...So is there a community area for cooking and doing their business. As awesome as it looked, it didn't look well lit up for that midnight tinkle.

    I'm happy for them, but it's such a misleading video. Get the actual facts straight and realistic in order to properly state actual cost. The shed shown is grossly underpriced, a 10x10 kit made on 2x3 lumber is $1700! So a a 'livable' 16x16 2 story barn is not $1500, it's missing a zero because that is going to cost $15k at least not to mention the furnishing and connections, $20-25K is more realistic!
