You need to check the neck on the trailer , the ball etc..they bend easily actually , and will loosen up on the ball , can bend the hitch plate also ..be careful

I also have front and rear cameras on my car after almost getting into two wreck driving to school on the highway. one was when a semi abruptly switch lanes and almost ran me of the road and another when i was exiting the side road had a yield but a truck came over the gore paint and in the lane where the exit was connecting to the side road almost clipping me and causing two SUV to almost rear end me because i had to slam the breaks. also if i catch something on it i will stop and offer video im not that selfish and would want someone else to do it for me.

@Stephen Turner I agree with the importance of using a dash camera.Theres so many morons out there on the road,not to mention all those drivers who bought their license whereas people like myself had to take a written test,get drive time behind the wheel,then take a driving test,pass the tests in order to obtain a license properly.To add to that,there's also a high number of immigrants that either don't understand the rules, and/or can't read the road signs properly,or just simply drive without ever having a valid license.My best friends daughter was T-Boned by one such immigrant.He was a amputee and only had one leg which was a basically widdled piece of wood that took place of his amputated leg,the same leg that operates the break pedal.He had restrictions already because of his bad eyesight and wasn't allowed to drive period because of his leg period.yet he was able to go to a dealership and take a brand new vehicle out for a drive. On this test drive he ran a light and smashed into my friends daughter and her 3 month old brand new car.The insurance company said it was a 50/50 at fault . How they came to that conclusion was beyond me until I found out that the adjuster was of the same ethnicity as mr peg leg. My point is if she had a dash camera,things would have had to be different given the proof available if she had a dash camera. So much corruption and misrepresentation going on everywhere it's hard to keep ones chin up and remain positive unless you have 100% solid proof of everything that someone could question you about now. That’s why I always drive with a dash cam, I’ve even started giving them out as birthday and Christmas gifts. You may never need it but if you ever do it’s hard to deny video proof, I’m glad everyone is okay. Cars can be replaced but human lives cannot

If they report it to insurance the title will be changed to salvage and they will be given a reimbursement to buy another truck at this trucks value. Now that the frame is bent insurance will no longer deem the vehicle safe for on road use.
Put a 270* camera system on the trailer to help cover your trailer in the future in case it gets hit from behind/sides. And one on the front of the truck and rear window of the truck. You can probably wire the rear to switch to the trailer when you hook up
this is almost exactly how my accident two weeks ago happened, guy pulled out for a left turn when i was 85% through the intersection, i didn’t have time to hit the breaks. my car got totaled due to front end damage and my back is fucked completely, doctor told my i’m not able to work physical labor jobs for the rest of my life. i’m happy everyone involved in your accident is doing good. god bless.

You’re lucky that your truck was still somewhat drivable where as my truck had to be towed away because the drive shaft busted off the transmission, exhaust busted off the front end as well as rear past the muffler, the rear suspension twisted, and the frame bent and the frame brackets snapped. Seeing your own vehicle be forcefully pulled onto a tow truck is the saddest thing ever 😭 both vehicles involved in my crash were completely totaled. What happened to mine was on January 31, 2022 I was trying to turn left when a 2012 Ford Fusion going faster than I originally thought tboned me. As I was about to clear the intersection I looked back to my right and realized how quickly she managed to catch up compared to how far away I was when I started to turn. I remember just seeing her large silver grill cover before it disappeared under my passenger side windows before my truck spun around 180°. While hers turned 45° to the right. Her entire front end on the passenger side was obliterated and crumpled. Both of our vehicles were towed away and eventually totaled 😢

Seeing your own vehicle be forcefully pulled onto a tow truck is the saddest thing ever 😭 both vehicles involved in my crash were completely totaled.
What happened to mine was on January 31, 2022 I was trying to turn left when a 2012 Ford Fusion going faster than I originally thought tboned me. As I was about to clear the intersection I looked back to my right and realized how quickly she managed to catch up compared to how far away I was when I started to turn. I remember just seeing her large silver grill cover before it disappeared under my passenger side windows before my truck spun around 180°. While hers turned 45° to the right. Her entire front end on the passenger side was obliterated and crumpled. Both of our vehicles were towed away and eventually totaled 😢

I am so glad that guy had dash cam footage. It is going to help a lot with the insurance. Sucks seeing the truck damaged. Hopefully it can get fixed quickly

It’s a good thing someone caught it on camera. Cause there is a lot of lying that goes around when there are no witnesses around.

Gavin i recommend you get a dashcam after this, Especially after this, You are always on the road and towing expensive cars, it would really help and could save you a LOT
As a fellow F-350 driver (I have a 97) that hurts. That being said I'm glad you both are ok.
I've had a dashcam for awhile now and I tell everyone i know to get one. Saves you so much headaches in the long run

My favorite part of all of this was the people on his tweets/instagram back when he first posted the dash footage that were like "why didn't you just stop? Lol" shows who has never driven anything bigger than a normal sized vehicle..lol. Even a small box truck depending on what is in it can be slower to stop.

This is why I daily a F450... same thing happened to my dad in my truck 5 years ago pulling a gooseneck with wood stacked up on it. Make sure the frame isn’t bent or box didn’t get pushed forward
