Chitra my mother used to first soak the Black thil in water then she will 'Sodhithu ' yeduppa. There will be fine stones below the karupellu, then dry Pan she will put the thil fry padapada vedikkum, she will transfer to a plate. After grinding the Melakaipodi she will add the thil, oru suthu suthi yedukkanum. I don't know many use measurements, but we use Kannalavu. Ofcourse newly cooking people may find difficulty. But me too same like my mother Kannalavuthan. Thank you

Hi Chitra, I saw hiw Mami is making Idli milagai podi. Looks delicious. I was wondering if you ever tried adding Pottu kadalai along with other ingredients.It will taste good too.It might reduce the spicy feeling a bit.
My maamiar who is 88 years old amd my amma also told me about adding pootu kadalai. My maamiar has been cooking for 80 years now. Both my amma and maamiar cooks authentic Iyengar samaiyal. Very tasy and flavourfull.Yum. Thanks for showing and posting all recipes. Very nice👌😊

Most of us don't have a food weighing scale in the kitchen. Please specify measurements by volume. Cup, table spoon etc. Or at least by ratio.
