Controversies aside, where you put Mera in this list since she is also a hero in her own right and is even a member of the Justice League outside of the DCEU in some iterations?

Why did you leave out Mera and Deadshot?
Say what you want about the DCEU. But it succeeded in casting a lot of actors who embodied their characters in all the right ways. An entire generation will see Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman or Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and that's no small feat.
I’m 30 and I love the DCEU, and the casting was the best part.
I know most people hate on the DCEU now and can’t wait for Gunn’s reboot, but he is going to have massive shows to fill for me.

Tbh Peacemaker is by far the best DCEU hero for me, the writing and directing of everything he is in is just on another level compared to everything else, not to mention the amazing character development and growth he has

While some movies were relatively dodgy, I find that the acting in pretty much every DCEU movie was great! You'll have loads of kids instantly recognising actors by looking at their superhero, as well as relatively minor roles like Costner as Johnny Kent and McGregor as Black Mask being really great. There are lots of things to criticise about the DCEU, but the misses were extremely scarce with the casting.
I do agree with you on the casting. Casting was almost always outstanding (with the one huge exception of Eisenberg, though you could argue he was the right choice for that version of the character, and that the problem was the character was written wrong).
I liked Ben Affleck as Batman quite a lot tbh. Won’t ever apologize for it.

You missed Deadshot and Mera but still enjoyed it till the end. I would've put Black Canary a bit higher up on the list, maybe somewhere between 15-20 , as she was the only character from BoP who had SOME kinda arc going and not just another lady with a face and a name.
She didn't really get enough screentime for us to care about her honestly.

To be honest , I think that Gunn and Safran’s decision of doing soft reboot in the new DCU has already caused massive confusion to the general audiences and has caused severe damage to DC brand which is very bad because soft reboot is massive risk on it’s own , meaning they need to urge them to do a hard reboot
I agree actually. I thought that reboot was gonna be a FULL reboot. But I am still hyped for Superman Legacy, Brave and the Bold, and Lanterns. Not interested in the other DCU movies and shows tho.

I agree with your number one. I think Wonder Woman is the best character in the DCEU and in my eyes became the face of the DCEU.
I think Martha- scene means that the Joker had destroyed Batman from the inside by killing Robin and turned him into a violent bitter avenger. When Superman mentioned Martha's name he flashed back to the moment when his mother died and he swore not to kill anyone, else he would become the next Joe Chill and he rediscovered his inner purpose.

I’d agree with that. Personally I feel like she became the face of the DCEU because unless I’m mistaken she appeared in the most DCEU films.
Always love seeing you here, Rachel! I love her and Gal Gadot is one of my celebrity crushes but 1984 really hurts her character in my opinion. Even working on my ranking, I keep thinking "Well I like her more but this character didn't commit a sex crime". For me,it's as close to character assassination as I ever felt in a modern movie.
Hey buddy when the Green lantern comes out as films hopefully you put them in one of your rankings personally he will be the extension of number one for or dash number after dark side goes back to his own planet have apocalypse then comes more and if you read on the White lantern comic he turns everybody powerful that's why I love Green lanterns number one but I respect your ranking and I think it was all right.

A Batfleck movie before BvS would've been perfect, it would be like the opposite of Matt Reeves The Batman. He starts out with good intentions and in the course of the movie gets completely broken and it ends with him witnessing Zod's attack on Metropolis. It would be like the darkest and most grim Batman movie ever.
I think in time history will be kind to the DCEU. It was ambitious but flawed, with some really good movies, but also some mediocre to bad ones.
There is however a couple of things I'm sad we never got to see in this universe:
* Batgirl and the Ayer cut of Suicide Squad
* A sequel/conclusion to Zack Snyders Justice League
* Green Lantern as a major character
* Batfleck solo movie
If we had gotten these (provided they were good ofc) I think I would have had an easier time accepting the end of the DCEU and looking back at it as an epic franchise
I agree. I don’t know if you saw Sean’s ranking of the DCEU films but he said something that I agree with that they should’ve had The Flash as the final film in the DCEU.

Hey Sean, there is a new Indian movie named Merry Christmas releasing on 5th January (😅 I know it should have been during Christmas but dunki and saalar took all the screens I guess) You should check the movie out. It looks like a Christmas murder mystery movie with some kind of paranormal or sci-fi elements. I think it will be fun to watch.

I think the best casting in the DCEU was Ben Affleck as Batman. I honestly believe that if he was given a solo film and the studios would’ve shut up, we would’ve gotten the best batman film so far.
Ocean-Master is the main reason I enjoyed AQUAMAN #2, their brotherhood
surprised by the relative low place for WW. setting WW84 aside, none of the other heroes in the DCEU had the cultural impact she had when WW came out. it was both a success for the franchise and a new benchmark for what makes a female hero .. a hero. period. not a male imitation of one. you recognized that in your review but again, surprised about the spot.
I'm not sure I understand. There's 30 characters and she's in the top 4. That's not low or relatively low. It's just not the top.

I dont know much about comics, only really the main heroes but its weird that the DCU is going for a lot b-tier stories (swamp thing, the authority) rather than focusing on re-doing heroes that are more well known (green lantern comes to mind) i know gunn thrives with these not known characters but i just wonder if this is going to be another directionless shared universe. I dont know the end goal of dcu.

After reviewing last year's DCEU hero ranking video and comments: I believe Sean intentionally left out Mera AND the first Suicide Squad protagonist to avoid controversy. As you know, Mera's actress was involved in a domestic abuse lawsuit battle with another actor, and Squad 2016's protagonist infamously slapped a popular comedian on live television. I don't know if Sean himself is biased against these people, but we know the comments would have a lot of people complaining.
The fact is, if he got reminded of Katana and added her to this list, there's no way he wouldn't have been reminded of 2 far more popular characters.
Don't be surprised if these comments get deleted.

I don't know how to feel about Cavill's Superman? And when I see polls between Superman vs. Batman, Batman usually wins at least 70%. He's always been more popular during the last 30+ years. Supes has never been that popular. And give me RDJ and Hiddleston over Cavill just in terms of overall character they portray.

how is the guy from peacemaker that kills people for doing grafitti a hero but the suicide squad from 2016 who were protaginists not? the 2016 suicide squad wont get included in the villain rankings either cuz their heros not villains.
This universe had such potential to be great and unique,but we can only imagine what might’ve been.

I would say Shazam is my number 1. I like Henry Cavil as Superman but I am not a fan of the way Synder made Superman soulless and so yanked of personality.

It's fair to say this DCEU has been a disaster with no character development.

there is no way he just said wonder woman is a layered nuanced character
she is one of the most boring characters of all time
a proper strong capable female superhero is black widow
she is better in every way
Black widow doesn't have a character she just fights and looks cool til she dies

Backstory is obvious
But her arc from killer assaisain and spy to someone that finds a family
And sacrifices her life for the possibility of helping her family
Someone who’s been trying to make up for Sins she did as a weapon all her life
Someone who trusted no one because of her upbringing learned to trust in her friends
Someone who for a long time similar to cap only felt comfortable in battle
Because she didn’t have a home to go to afterall of a family to be with
From that person she went to someone who didn’t know what to do without family
She felt like it was all she had and she didn’t wanna lose it
She desperately didn’t want to feel alone again which is why she had those check ups so often with the other avengers
@@Young_pk-p and wonder woman trumps all of that she's a warrior princess who was on an island secluded from humanity for decades and she finally helps because she feels called to and she doesn't die of fall damage like black widow

In the first movie we meet her she alr helping humanity
And in Wonder Woman Movie she decides to that in the first act of the movie after that there is no arc
