Can you fly Royal brunei airlines again because me living in Brunei, I heard they got the world leading cabin crew award and I even saw it on their channel. Pls.........Your vids are great.
Heheh, I used to play a different similar game that works on both browser and mobile app. Haven't logged in in well over a year, which maintains I haven't maintained them in that long. I'm hoping the AI was smart enough to ground the planes rather than have them fall from the sky ;)
I fly Premium Economy on longhaul flights as I can't afford Business. 15 years ago I used to book the very back seat, middle section, on a Jumbo. On most of those flights I used to have all four seats to myself which made for a nice 'cheap' full length bed.
So happy to see Shigufa safe and sound, and that her Kam Air colleagues are also ok. Hopefully one day, they will be flying again in Afghanistan ❤️
Afghanistan is fucked for good by the Taliban, so you can kiss that goodbye.
Respectfully, Afghanistan is a “failed” state and unfortunately will only continue to fallback into the Stone Age.
@@alyonapetrova694 learn the definition of a 'failed state'. Afghanistan is not a failed state just because you disagree with its government. It's the same as Russia or China who have controlling governments.

When all is said and done, I’ll chose to live elsewhere. Enjoy Kabul.
Meanwhile, in most other countries worldwide, we have the illusion that we're not being controlled...
You sound so cool speaking German … I am happy that she made it safe to Germany 🎉
"Direct aisle access has been the standard for over 10 years on almost every airline, but Lufthansa was probably too busy buying its 5 star status off Scamtrax" 😂
Lufthansa is sooooo german that it hurts. 😂
Thes somehow got their five star status, everyone in the world thinks they are great while no one can afford their service and if someone does try them out, that person will find outdated concepts paired with denial of progress. Typical for Germany.😂
260 likes and no comment, let’s fix that !
Cathay had direct aisle access for over 13 years now, and Lufthansa advertising this as a new feature
@@madingthree Ik I agree with you completely yet Lufthansa is still known as better than cathay which seems a bit overkill
That part sent me 🤣🤣
It’s amazing how someone’s cheerful demeanor can change your own mood. If you walk away from the counter in a better state than when you came in, that’s terrific staff!
What I’ve always experienced with Lufthansa is that they don’t aim to offer the most luxurious experience ever, but the most consistent you could find: you know that they’ll provide a service with certain standards in any way possible. Also always found staff being very helpful and polite
(Not a business traveller for sure, but still always had pleasant journeys even in economy)
Tips for lounge enjoyer in Frankfurt Airport: that Lufthansa Business Lounge is always full, but if you walk further to the area of Gate A26, there is the Panorama Lounge. It's usually almost empty.
Was there this morning and it was packed, but I enjoy the different design which makes it my favourite option anyway!
@@gio9039 normally it's still better than the lounge in Cahill's video. And once I also went to another Business Lounge above the Panorama Lounge that was also quite empty. In any case, all of these lounges are definitely better than the LuxxLounge outside 😅
I flew Lufthansa Premium Economy from Denver to Frankfurt and back a few weeks ago on a 787-9. I really liked it. I didn't mind too much for the overnight leg, sure Business class would have been nice but I didn't feel like spending big money for a 9.5 hour flight. I had a bulkhead window seat both ways, 8K going and 8A returning. 8A on the left side has two windows, 8K on the right only one window. Great leg room, and easy to get up to use the restroom without asking my neighbor to get up, just two seats on the sides as you said. I bid and paid $420 going and $400 returning. My seat mate on flight back said he'd only bid $200, the lowest bid, so if you don't mind if you don't get it, a lowball bid can workout sometimes. On the return flight we got two hot meals, regular economy got just one, and a sandwich for the 2nd. On the over night we got dinner and a breakfast. It is just a more comfortable way to fly, also the rest room is very close, just past the nearby galley, and getting on and off the plane is easy, the door is right by the premium economy section. The crew both ways were very friendly and did a great job, I am taking the same flights again in September for a trip to Spain and Portugal. This was my first time flying Lufthansa, and I was very impressed with their service and the comfort of the 787. Thanks for your video Josh!
Josh, I agree, Premium Economy for a day flight is perfect. I remember my Premium Economy flight on Virgin Atlantic from SFO to LON Heathrow back in 2004 on a 747. It was amazing with lots of extras and the service was impeccable. Oh my how times have changed.
I've flown on Lufthansa's Premium Economy from Frankfrut to Chennai India and back and I was impressed with the larger seat short section of about 30 seats, with only a 1/3 of the seats full and the food service was a step up from economy. I will use it again on my next trip to India.
LH Premium economy is very good. It's the best option for day flight for quality/cost. Night flight I still prefer the business class
I know a lot of folks like to criticize Lufthansa, but I have always enjoyed flying with them. Great video review!
If you get to fly, it’s fine 😂 but they tend to keep cancelling flights and good luck with luggage in Frankfurt airport.
It is still a good airline, but it is supposed to be better. You can tell right away that it is below KLM and Air France in almost everything.
Hi Josh, firstly glad that Shigufa and her colleagues are doing well during these troubling times.
I am so happy that you enjoyed a Lufthansa flight.Since you liked the Dreamliner business class,I would suggest trying out the Lufthansa airbus a350 business class with the Vantage seats, offering direct aisle access. These aircraft currently serve long haul routes like Montreal,Charlotte,Denver,Mumbai and New Delhi. They will soon restart service with Toronto,Vancouver and start flying these planes to Newark (EWR).
Safe Travels Josh!
Love hearing you speak your German x
Josh, wie cool, Dich mal auf Deutsch zu hören. Sogar mit Dialekt. Ich schaue jeden Bericht von Dir. Weiter so. “Crew is really nice in a german way ,”hahahaha
was für Dialekt spricht er?
As a German I usually hate "nice in a German way" - but on an airplane, I actually prefer this 10 out of 10 times to Arabian or Asian crew, where I'm treated like I'm a king and they aren't worth anything. In a Lufthansa flight, you feel like you're on the same level as the crew, which is a much more relaxed feeling for me. They also don't bother you every 5 minutes, being ignored can also be a good thing if you just want to have your piece and quiet.
I can say as a German, this ist the most German bullshit i've ever read.... You are the product of decades of german trash customer service aka "Service Wüste Deutschland"
Then you clearly don't appreciate what a true luxury service is. But, to each his own I suppose
I hear you. But I took Gulf air & the crew, were so easy going, barely even noticed the passengers exist, which was actually quite nice. A guy was already laying down during takeoff (far away from any other passengers). But when Josh took LL and the crew were making a big show it was uncomfortable.
Gulf air got everyone what they needed without hassling people about upright seats or other stupid safely proceedings that have a 0.001% increase in safety.
A very German comment 😂
it very much depends on what you're looking for. I've had a night flight with emirates, 8 hours starting at midnight. At 2 am they decided to do a complete dinner service while everyone just wanted to sleep. Sometimes, luxury is just being able to sleep comfortably, which is what most 1st class passegners do. @@Thomas-Bradley
A lounge being full isn't really the problem of the lounge. It's a sign that it's good and the reason is probably that FRA is Lufthansa's main hub while also being the financial capital in Germany. Also, German philosophy, they get up early on holiday to get the fresh croissants and the best spots on the pool. Same here I guess :)
The main reason I believe LH lounges are overcrowded at the moment is the aftermath of COVID. During COVID members with HON, Senator and Frequent Flyer program were not subject of defending their status. This has changed with the calendar year 2022. From next year on lounges should get less crowded I predict.
@@martinhacke5004 that makes sense.
What a weather change between Frankfurt and Munich! I absolutely love the Munich airport and always try to connect thru there and to avoid Frankfurt. When I was working as a travel agent - it was great to work with LH. And with AC - not so much...Thanks for the video and greetings from Ontario!
Yes, do your transit in MUC, not in FRA.
@@axelbr403 Yes. Anytime I can.
Really glad to hear the women from the all female flight in Afghanistan are all safe and doing well❤
The snack they provided looked really good... Especially for a 30 min fight. Love the way it was presented in the little metal basket.
Richtig ungewohnt dich deutsch reden zu hören, gerne öfter und natürlich wie immer n super Video
War schon gespannt ob er mit dem Personal deutsch spricht...😀
Premium economy is the way to go in my opinion. Going to New Zealand. We had a bulkhead seat so that made the 12 hour flight reasonable. I also flew to Europe from America in premium economy on Air France, which was wonderful. Those few inches really make a difference. If I have money for a business seat, then I would take that obviously, but premium economy is wonderful.
Five stars airline? Lufthansa? They are kidding Josh? Maximum three stars!
I think their rating was dropped to 4 stars
First 5 of these beautiful 787-9 were meant for Hainan Airlines reflecting the new business class seats. I know the first 3 787 names, Berlin, Frankfurt am Main and Kiel.
absolut sympathische Art den dreamliner zu präsentieren. Ich freue mich auf den ersten Flug in der neuen buisness class
Josh's brutal honesty is what keeps me glued to this channel😂
Aisle access is still an issue over at Emirates on their 777s, but the new layout at Lufthansa is a big improvement.
Nice to hear u speak in your native language
... in a German way… 😂 Vielen Dank, Josh, ich muss grad so lachen.
Great video. I’ve only flown PE once before with JAL from Sydney to LHR. Very comfortable, great service & meals. The only downside was the entertainment system which was limited & some options were only in Japanese.
I’m flying to Paris in PE with Emirates next April so looking forward to seeing how they compare, especially on the comfort factor.
Glad the ladies from KAM air are safe.
BA only introduced direct aisle access two years ago when its 350s arrived. It was known for its cramped 2-3-2/2-4-2 just like UA’s old business cabins! So maybe you should redo the opening voice over.
Wrong 😂
@@JoshCahill 🤣
@@JoshCahillHmm was he wrong? Quick google search told me this: "British Airways unveiled its Club Suite product in early 2019, marking a major shift in the premium passenger experience with direct aisle access at every seat, ..."
“Really nice in a German way.” I died laughing. 😂
Zein Jahre überfällig ... Ich liebe deine videos
lets be fair. You didn't do much more than smile you havent "died"
Amazing to see & hear the Kam Air Crew are safe & well. Thanks for sharing Josh
Happy to hear that the ladies are all safe. The seats in the new plane look comfortable and private. Glad you had a nice flight.
You are to tough on your national airline. I am Egyptian and I had the privilege of flying Lufthansa from CYYZ to CAI in 2009. I was very impressed with the service. We flew the A340-600 & 400. BTW, I read in a press release some time ago the LH will inaugurate the new 787 on the FRA YYZ route, perhaps I am mistaken then?
That smile at the Check-In has reminded me of taking an early train of DB where the female controller of the tickets was screaming "Alle Fahrkarten" without the word please as if the passengers would have been recruits in the German Army ....
I just moved from the usa to Germany pförzheim to be closer to my family and everytime I would visit I always flew luftansa phl to fra. Frankfurt is a beast of an airport. Getting from baggage claim to the train station is a long long walk.
I only fly lufthansa and Austrian on overseas flights. There is room for improvement but I still like their German Austrian service
Great people and great crew. Last month the food in economy was bad but then I had packed a sandwich when I arrived in Germany and had a good snack from home, improvements can be made on food and beverage. From Athens to Frankfurt I asked for a coke and it was a charge, but my wallet was in the bine so I opted out. Now what does it take to offer a free coke or a drink….considering the prices paid. Now my friend all is not Rosie in the airlines so let’s be critical where they need to improve.
cool. dich mal wieder deutsch sprechen zu hören. weiter so, geniale videos !!!!
I think Lufthansa and other Lufthansa Group carriers have rather loyal clients. I am glad they will finally get what they have been long waiting for.
I do love the reverse Herringbone seats. It looks like it has lots of nice storage space as well. On a door, I flew on the Delta Airlines with their Delta One Suites on the A350 and A330-900neo. I'll say most reverse herringbones have just as much privacy without the door.
Finally Lufthansa has a state of the art product in Business class
It looks outdated already compared to British Airways
I like economy plus on long haul. It gives you just a little more comfort without the crazy costs of flying business and or first class.
3:45 "Lufthansa has finally introduced direct aisle access, only 22 years after BA introduced that new concept." Not true - BA launched business-class flat beds in 2000, but they did not have direct aisle access at every seat, that only came with the Club Suites they started rolling out a few years ago. LH was about a decade behind BA for flat beds, which LH introduced in 2012.
Finally, lufthansa is up to their rating
Lol no.
@nielsjuuh23 they were horible at least there getting better step by step instead of staying bad
⭐⭐⭐⭐✖?
Until they bring back the 2nd hot meal in economy and offer a complimentary drink selection for short haul flights (which even American Airlines has), I wouldn’t say that. Glad they improved their Business class though.
@@joshualau4070oh yeah I forgot their rating was dropped to 4 star
A really good video Josh! Lufthansa has a really nice product and fortunately they continue this way in the next few years. I like to hear you speak German, even if it is very unfamiliar haha. I liked that this time you also spoke German with staff in the video. I was very critical of that in your video about Eurowings on the flight to Düsseldorf, that you had criticized there that the flight attendants wanted to speak German with you rather than English.
I hope you get your visa for the USA and can also try out the Lufthansa 787 on long-haul flights. Thank you for the great videos
Josh you must visit Bangalore in the week of December.
New Airport T2 is about to be operational and we need you to experience it!!❤️❤️
I am new to your channel, which is fascinating! I am on the pension now, so I don’t fly nearly as much as I did in my executive days. I flew Lufthansa many times, 747, 340, always good service in the air. On the ground, not so much! I liked Munich for transfer, but Frankfurt was a horror every single time. My German language skills are elementary, not like your command of English, but I have a good pronunciation and accent. My last long-haul was a few months ago, United 777, MXP-EWR, Premium Plus. I loved the Premium experience, especially with the legroom, as I am rather tall. I will never fly regular Economy again. In the States, I recently flew Frontier 320, and I paid the fee for the whole upgrade package. It was fine, no problems. “Josh Cahill” is an unusual name for a German - “Josh” is popular in America, “Cahill” is, I think, from Ireland. How can I read more about your work and life story? It’s very interesting.
This is a really nice product.
Great video yet again.
Keep it up.
Fingers crossed for Lufthana 2024, hopefully they improve and maybe, just maybe, properly get 5 star rating
I flew on the old business class when this video came out. It is still very nice, but this looked good to have a revamp to the cabin.
The Business Class in the Video isn't LHs actual new Business Class instead it's the one from Hainan Airlines. For a look at LHs actual NEW Cabin google "Lufthansa Allegris".
The Premium Economy shown in the video is also sitll the old one.
As always, well done Josh! Great to see you trying two different classes of service. Most flight reviewers seem to only review one. Lufthansa seems to have raised their quality of service since the last time you flew them. Look forward to seeing their Dreamliner on transatlantic flights in the near future! Cheers!
Recent times LH only had boeing 737 and 747. Glad to see them add the 787, i find it be comfortable aircraft.
How long do you think it will take them to retrofit their planes? most markets will not see this for a long time.
I doubt they will retrofit them with this config... to me it seems Lufthansa is just buying up whatever leftover plane is there... so in the future they will have one of the most diverse seat maps
Retrofitting with the new Allegris product will start from 2023 onwards. I doubt the old A340-300s will get the product since i suspect them getting phased out rather sooner than later. The only ones not getting the new Cabin will be the 4 ex PAL A350s and 5 ex HU 787 as seen in the Video so far.
@@placeholderGER If I were to guess, the A350, 777X and 787 will defo get a new product, the 747-8i, A380 and A330 *might* get it and the 747-400 and A340 probably won’t get it.
@@jatterhog I have read an article about it, and some older Models in the Fleet will definately get it aswell. Sadly no word on which part of the Fleet it is, so i suspect it will be the 748s and the A330, the A380 might be a good Candidate aswell since they are scheduled to re-enter the Fleet in Summer `23. I guess we will have to wait and see :)
@@placeholderGER 747-8 and all A350 will get the Allegris cabin, Maybe A330 (but I think they will be moved to Eurowings). A380, 744 and A340 will get phased out.
Josh, I loved the video and all, but seeing Shigufa in your video, was amazing. What a beautiful girl 😍Wish her well in her new life...
At 11:35 the windows are so clean it almost feels like this is out of MSFS2020...
Think you need to mention Direct Aisle Access to Emirates 777 Business. Also 1-2-1 config!
If you haven't already done so (and I don't think you have) you should try to fly Luxair one of these days. I would be very interested what you make of them. 🙂
As a German it always sounds so weird to hear you speak German just because I‘m used to the English speaking Josh Cahill :D
The product does look fairly standard, and no air vents on board. Finally having direct aisle access is good, and the real Lufthansa cabin that's coming will likely have the air vents. The future is looking good for Lufthansa!
I love that shot of you at take off looking out the window. You look like a little kid taking his first flight of his life. Good review.
I like the herring bone seat layout but Lufthansa's seat looks quite narrow for a long haul flight, the seat width looks similar to Emirates B777 ones and on a 7hr. flight is only a dozing seat.
I know this may be a very basic question for you but i really want to know the answer... How do you know that this specific plane will fly at the specific flight that you've booked?? ... do you start by searching the plane then the flight? and how exactly?
Well for this flight in particular it's probably a bit different because Lufthansa announced the new plane and also the fact that it would fly between Munich and Frankfurt for a while for training purposes.
He's an airline savant, planes speak to him telepathically
if you go to websites such as cheap0air, you can click "see details" on a ticket and it will show you the aircraft etc.
When you search for Lufthansa flights it’ll probably state the aircraft type. You just need to find one with the 787.
@@toronto_devv8401 normally yes, but in ExpertFlyer and several booking channels I tried it isn't showing at all in the next week...and my understanding is it would keep going back and forth until end-November? Even the upcoming JFK route is still loaded as a 744 in December.
Finally!! Air Canada direct aisle access with classic pods 2006 and the new Super Diamonds in 2015, so LH gets the Super Diamonds 7+ year after AC! Too many of us Canadian FFs, the Super Diamond is beginning to seem old.
Wie interessant, dich Deutsch sprechen zu hören ☺️
LH does put foam ear pads in their amenity kits that are to be placed over the ear pieces of their headphones for sanitary purposes. Of course most people don’t slip them on…and I suppose on these short trial flights with no amenity kits LH has forgotten to hand these covers out.
You are from Germany but your english is super. Bravo👍
This cabin is only temporary and will not be on the next 787 dreamliner orders. This is only because they wanted to introduce the 787 quicker as it was meant to be in service a long time ago!
Thats exactly what I said in the video 😆
Thanks for letting everyone know about the Afghan crew! Enjoyed this video.
Thank you for sharing you flight here...
The Business Class seats look good...
That is good that your girlfriend there was safe in Germany.
That was nice on your trip back to you did not have someone sitting next to you in Premium Economy..Yes, the Premium Economy is good in the front sections of the regular Economy. I want some private space there in that section...
I had a lot of points with Lufthansa Miles&More, then I used the points to book a private ticket, which was last minute cancelled by Lufthansa and then the points expired. They offered me a travel bag as compensation, which I refused. I wanted a flight. I sent several complaints letters, which were always answered by the same person, even though I requested escalation, and didn't offer anything to solve this problem. In the years after that I flew a lot around the world for work, often two countries per week, more than the average flight attendant and usually business class on longer flights. And always avoided Lufthansa, even if that meant a less convenient flight. Because of their bad behaviour, they lost at least 50K EUR revenue.
Several people I met they had bad experience with Lufthansa as well, also more recently.
Interesting to see how much Lufthansa seems to be improving. But still, there's no reason to pay the premium over a budget airline.
From FRA to MUC is not a domestic flight, it's an international one. Bayern unabhängig - jetzt!
WOW......Lucky dude 😊
Collins Aerospace, baby!!
10:19 the crew is nice in the German way - I agree with that they are nice, polite , they are doing their job but compared to a KLM crew , the KLM crew is real spontaneous and friendly.
That is one thing I always noticed.
If i ran an airline id operate the a320 short haul flights and a350 for long haul flights. I like the 787 and 777, but boeing have a lot of issues id not wanna deal with as a business owner
They started flights to KEWR! Now next month (February 13th) they will start service on their 787-9 from Frankfurt - Detroit and back!
“Really nice, in a German way” 😂😂😂
Perfect video with one small problem "stop jumping over the take-off and landing" those are the most beautifull parts
thanks for showing us something most of us will NEVER get to experience. so useful.
So fantastic that ALL the girls are Ok!!!!!!! Love to you all. Love your videos Josh!!
Nice editing josh great video as always
For a day flight premium eco is a good choice.
1:55 Looks like the coffee was going to overflow 😂
Hi Josh you have to test Anadolu Jet please 🙏
once upon time lufthansa had a station in yemen the used to fly to sanaa long time ago but not anymore thats is sad. and klm was carrying trips to sanaa too. we used to travel to Europe by KLM or lufthasna.
I really enjoy your reviews They are very honest. 👍
After flying LH PE for the first time two months ago (MUC-JFK, A380) I have to admit that it's a quite decent product. But in general, Lufthansa 'issues' with implementing the all-new Allegris business class is an absolute nightmare. Whenever flying LH group I try to avoid LH itself, instead fly LX or OS which is old, too - but way more comfortable.
During my 2020 to Austria just before the virus I tried out premium economy on Austrian Airlines (ORD-VIE) & Lufthansa (FRA-DEN). I was more impressed with the 🇦🇹 product which provided noise canceling headphones while LH only offered chintzy earbuds in premium economy. Furthermore, the headphones provided by 🇦🇹 were more hygienic in the sense that the amenity kit included single use foam pieces to slip on the 🎧. Anyway, I'll be flying to Europe in less than 2 months but this time I'll by trying out the United Airlines premium offerings. Cheers!
Lufthansa ground staff are some of the friendliest, most helpful airline staff I’ve ever met.
i have alot of good memories with lufthansa but it has been a long time since my last flight with them
Big improvement from my experience this month!
Having flown both LH and Hainan, the former is 3* and the latter 2*, LieSky ratings are Pay 2 Play. Same with other reviews who have monetized their bands.
Long overdue update. Taking an 11 hour flight in the Lufthansa 747-8 later this year and already dreading the antique cabin and lackluster meal.
That isn’t their new business class, that’s just the one that is on the five Hainan aircraft they are getting. From what I understand, those 5 will be going to Austrian Airlines when Lufthansa begins receiving the 787-9’s that they originally ordered.
Yes, maybe to AUA, or be sold again.
Josh great review . I’ve always enjoyed flying LH long and short haul in Y class . I think the new C/S suits the aircraft too .
Great to see you suffer from the newest Lufthansa services so we don't have to! :) Thank you for your service. :-)
You can buy a business Class deal from that early next year from Frankfurt to Newark for 55.000 Miles Return + 600€ in the 787.
I was dead at "the crew is really nice in a German way." :)
Also, love love love your reviews. I have literally changed flight details based on your reviews in business class to ensure I get the comfortability and service I need.
Josh, just out of curiosity, do you have a recommendation for business class flights from SFO -> Porto, Portugal? My top 3 requirements are: 1. Window Seat/Privacy, 2. Food really has to be worth the $6k ticket price 3. Service/Cleanliness.
Same 787-9 seats I have been sitting on with Air Canada's dreamliners since 2016 lol
