True. Anyone that has watched enough interviews or lil shows with Jisoo can tell that she actually knows quite a bit of English. It's just harder to get to the point where you can speak it comfortably. I'm the same way in my second language.
@@lauraelizabethbrown Yeah , She can read and write too (in one of Lisoo Vlive, she read english comments for Lisa). It's just that since english is not a language she speak on daily basis , it is tough for her to deliver her points accurately , like how she wants to and without mistake.

So agree with u!!! I’m happy with that as well, when I go to some Korean stars concert, they usually try to speak English to us, but for me I would rly love hearing them to speak in Korean even I dun understand a word. It’s a feeling, it just feels like I’m watching them from tv, sounds familiar.

This just proves that Jisoo does understand English but she's just not comfortable yet to speak in English. She answered correctly in Korean rather than making another mistake that the world would criticize her again. Edit: Guys I know that Jisoo can understand most english. I'm a yg stan since 2009 and I've known the girls since the pink punk era. I was just trying to tell others that she doesn't need help to translate the words for her in this interview. Wtv it is let just support her.
Jisoo actually understands English almost perfectly, her grammar is still a bit off which is why she prefers not to speak in English because any time she makes a small mistake people attack her. The last time they were on late late and played the flinch game she spoke English the whole time but at one point said "I'm not scary" instead of "I'm not scared" and people immediately attacked her for it. They compare her to the others and fail to consider that Jennie/Rose each spent years in majority English speaking countries (they had to learn) and Lisa already knew a lot of English before even becoming a trainee; Jisoo grew up in South Korea where she didn't have to learn English and shes trying really hard but its hard for her to practice when all she gets is shamed if its not perfect :(

I swear, when he asked Jisoo a question and she wasn't left out like in a lot of interviews, I almost cried! My baby deserves to speak Korean wherever she goes and be included just as much as the other members! I'm so so so happy to see how she looked at the other girls before answering and Jennie was so thoughtful to translate it. This is how it should ALWAYS BE. Let Jisoo speak Korean and influence other interviewers to ask questions to ALL THE MEMBERS!

Agree. Although they seemed to have a meeting beforehand, Jisoo looked to be a respectable person with her own language in the interview for me. (other members are absolutely great as well) I think that James is a venerable interviewer. He deserves our reverence. I like him as a interviewer.

Bruh, people, stop acting like Jisoo does not know any English. She understands the words and expressions perfectly fine, she is not comfortable with communicating because people attack her for the smallest mistakes she make. You can see Jennie translating Jisoo’s words to the interviewers but not translating English words to Korean for Jisoo, that is the proof. It is like how most non native learn English anyway, especially in Asia, where reading, writing and sometimes listening are highly emphasized when teaching but not speaking.

I doubt she understands the words and expressions perfectly fine cause perfectly fine would be like Jennie or rosé. When you learn a new language you can’t just be able to understand the language you need to able to speak it. Take bts Jhope for example, he understands English and also not afraid to speak it regardless of what people think, Jisoo just lacks confidence.
@@masonjames5505 There are different stages of learning, understanding is a lower stage compared to utilizing. This happened to me personally when I first learned German. I can comprehend the meaning of a speech and article really fine but I cannot use as advanced expressions and words like that during my own speech. Rose and Jennie are at the stages of utilizing and Jisoo is the stage of understanding. Jisoo could speak better if she had more confidence

Even recently international fans went crazy and started sending hate after jisoo went live on VLive and only spoke korean. Jhope isn’t the only one who isn’t perfectly fluent in bts, they have one main English speaker: RM. but for blackpink, jisoo is more pressured since the others are all fluent in enlglish. Watching her “hello world” video gave me so much relief that she had healed physically but her smile in that video warmed my heart so much and I think that really helps that her ankle is good. She’s looking phenomenal and her performance was incredible... her energy and spirit seems high and she’s got that light back in her eyes and not a forced smile... that’s a real jennie smile. She is one tough human and I almost teared up watching them perform bc I was so relieved to see that fire in her.
