    Rising star? lol Maybe a few years ago. She's already way up there among the worlds best. One of the worlds top young talents. I love her. She broke the indoor 400m WR this year....40+ year old record. She is way past "rising star'. She already arrived. Womens track is loaded with amazing young talent... Syd, Mu, Bol, Abby, the young 800m runner from the UK...Britton Wilson still in college in the US.. Anna Hall... on and on. we are watching very young women crush records not seen in decades. Syd is a once in multiple generation runner...same for Mu... Bol is right there. Worlds is going to be epic this year. Bol is a gold medal threat whenever she steps on the track.. maybe the open 400m or 400m hurdles at worlds but Syd is on another level. Last year was an epic worlds for the women. 2023 is looking mighty fine as well. Bring on worlds! What a great time to be a track fan...esp on the womens side with the once in a generation youth wave. I want to see Syd and Bol again in the 400m hurdles. Mu in the 800m vs KH from the UK. Then all three (Syd, Mu, and Bol) taking on the open 400m record.

How you when is spinning less time with your feet off the ground, great technique, fast turn over and endurance but raw speed can't hurt. And that's everything Sydeny has. Nobody care about trying to do analytics to prove why she will win, if that's the case Bromell should have won the 100m all last year he was the world lead most of the entire season but he lost, just like Bol has and will do again. But even when you don't consider it being a video from the Diamond League: being second behind Sydney last year at Worlds and winning triple gold (400mh, 400m and 4x400m) at the European Championships seems the kind of thing that would give someone star status, but I guess that's not good enough for you ?!

    52.61 3rd race on this video. same as 52.61 Kim Batten (USA) August 11, 1995 Gothenburg, so she is battling a 28 year old milestone. She'll be around 10 meters behind Sydney McLaughlin. Am I missing something? In another era, 2 1/2 decades ago, she would be vying for a world record.

      You are missing since last year:
      - WR indoor 400m;
      - world best performance ever 500m;
      - transition from 15 to 14 steps.
      All proving she has gained and will gain substantial velocity and endurance.

      Sydney peaked sooner. Femke has now reached her apex and will mostly likely overtake Sydney as World number 1 in the hurdles. She's already number 1 in the indoor 400m, breaking a 40 year old record.

      @@Glf65297 how do you know Sydney has peaked? Have you seen her practice? Last I checked she has the wr in the 400m hurdles and has broken the record the last 3 finals she ran in.

    • @Glf65297
      @Glf65297 Год назад

      I meant that Sydney reached a level of dominance sooner than Femke - probably due to her hurdle technique being more efficient than Femke. I don't think that she can improve on her hurdle form so in that regard, I think that she has peaked. If she is going to reach a new plateau, she will have to run faster in the open 400m.
      I know the commentator at last year's World Championships said that she ran a 47.8 anchor leg - no way she ran that fast. I clocked her 3 times and the fastest time was 48.7. My total time for all four runners was 3:17.50 just 29/100 of a second faster than the official WR of 3:17.79.

      Sydney doesn't rule the 400m - she only runs it on the relay and at last year's World Championships, she didn't run the fastest leg. I clocked her three times and there is no way that she ran 47.8. Wilson ran 48.86 and Sydney ran 48.93. I sure would like to know how the TV commentator came up with 47.8.. Femke rules the 400m with a World Indoor Record of 49.26..

      This is a Diamond League compilation of all the races Femke Bol ran in that competition.

      Femke was never 1.57 seconds behind Sydney in any of these meetings because Sydney didn't compete.
