  • The Ibn Tulun Mosque, located in the heart of Cairo, is one of the city's oldest and largest mosques. Ahmad ibn Tulun, the founder of the Tulunid dynasty, built the mosque in the 9th century during the Abbasid period.
The exterior of the mosque is a sight to behold. Its unique brick minaret, which stands over 26 metres tall, is one of the world's tallest. The minaret is beautifully decorated with geometric patterns and is topped with a small dome.
The interior of the mosque is equally stunning. The main prayer hall is surrounded by columns and arches, creating a sense of openness and grandeur in the space. The central courtyard is also lovely, surrounded by a covered arcade and featuring a central fountain.
