It’s a Saturday night here in Chicago and we just finished up supper. As is our typical routine, the girls were helping clear the table and put away the leftovers and requested “the sisters” for the background music while their chores were being completed. This is the first song that Alexa chose to play for us. Now they want to know all about how long it took to learn how to sing that way, how Megan can play the slide like that? Can we listen to it again? I told you two when we briefly met how thankful I was for saying hi to my girls. We’ll probably never meet again, but your small gesture of humility and humbleness won’t ever be forgotten. Thank you both again and we’re all cheering you on and hoping for your continued success. ✌🏻🍻❤️
Means so much to me. "If you ever change your mind About leaving, leaving me behind Baby, bring it to me Bring your sweet loving Bring it on home to me"
This is my favourite Larkin Poe performance so far. I was skeptical before I clicked, because I thought Sam Cooke’s shoes would be too hard to fill but I was completely wrong, as they did the song in a way that was somehow similar to the original yet totally different, so when I was listening I had no urge to compare their singing to Sam’s. This is truly an awesome performance by Larkin Poe! Thanks❤️
I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU LISTEN TO SAM'S CLASSIC, SOULFUL, RENDITION OF THIS AMAZING, GOSPEL LEANING, RHYTHM AND BLUES, SOULFUL, JAM! OBVIOUSLY, YOU MUST HAVE NEVER HEARD HIS MELLOW, HEARTFELT, GOSPEL LIKE, RENDITION, OF THIS JAM!! FORGIVE ME FOR REPEATING MYSELF. SAM COOKE, IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ARTIST. I GREW UP LISTENING TO HIS INCREDIBLE VOICE. THE FRIDAY NIGHT HE WAS MURDERED, WAS LIKE LOSING A MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY. I WAS STILL A KID, THAT FATEFUL FRIDAY, NIGHT...
@@edwardcochran5060 Sam Cooke was a truly great artist! I love his work not only as a solo artist, but also his work with the Soul Stirrers. The Blues Sisters aren't trying to duplicate Sam's version. They're not him and are playing with their own style. I'm just glad that they're remembering Sam by playing his music and keeping it alive. Have you heard Beth Hart's version of A Change Is Gonna Come? As a powerful singer, she has the Sam Cooke vibe down pretty well. 👍👍👍
I absolutely 💜💜💜 Sam Cooke, music not of my era. I'm not one to like covers of some certain artists, but you girls did an awesome job of it...and now I'm off to listen to The King of Soul himself Mr Sam Cooke
These wonderful two artists are completely unable to disappoint me, although I prefer to see and hear them as a four headed band. But I admit, as a duo they present excellent craftswomanship.
"I remember Marvin Gaye, singin', What's goin' on Don't play with my love, no I remember Otis Redding, Sittin' at the Dock of the Bay Ahh, he went away.. I remember Sam Cooke ya'll, Bring It On Home To Me, From your love I can't be free I remember Elvis Presley, and the Blue Suede Shoes Ahh it gave me the blues. I remember Marvin Gaye, singin' Let's get it on"
You both make me smile incessantly, everytime, always, your playing, depth, love for each other and your love for music carries all of us who love you until your next song. Thank you for making all our lives a little happier with your passion.
Blessings upon your heads.. I get an impression of the fire,(next time), in that, soul, is a learned experience. My dad , loved 50’s and 60’s jazz, my mother, loved singers, and guitarists. I love your singing, as a 50 yr guitar player, I’m partial to your talent, and like your ’tone’ of voice.
You guys did a very nice job on this Sam Cooke classic song. I particularly enjoyed the harmony vocals. I could see you guys performing more of Sam's great songs! 👍👍👍👍👍
A Sam Cookie cover? Fantastic idea! He was big in his day, but I think he's often very underappreciated by my generation (I'm 42) and those younger. Well done, I enjoyed it!
Im Germany we call this type of song „Schenkelspreizer“. Hard to translate that, but it‘s the type of music you hear when getting busy with your Mrs/Mr 😉
Excellent! Still never a bad cover, and as a Certified Old Person, who remembers when this song first came out, I'm inclined to believe that Sam would approve of this version.
Love this song and loved Sam Cooke. I can hear you singing "Twistin' the night away" in my head right now and it sounds so good. Wonderful cover of such an iconic singer. Sam was the best and so are you girls. Loved the harmonies and Megan's magical solo.
OMG Meagan, I think this may be your best ever Slide Queen cover performance! Almost brought tears to my eyes! Sam Cooke music is so good! Thank you both for that one, cant wait to see you in Seattle..........
Absolutely amazing! So nice to hear other younger folks with an appreciation for older music. This is a long time favorite! Definitely rocking a girl crush for you guys hard lately
You ladies are amazing! Thank you for sharing the gift of music with us all and sharing your amazing renditions of the music we all love. Your song choices on the covers you do are right in line with the stuff I love. This song in particular was a special surprise. I didn't try to guess, cuz you always surprise me, but that's my all time favorite R&B tune, also love, Havin' a Party! Great job! 🥰😍😢❤❤❤ PS...Megan's slide tone on the intro and outro were Epic, and the harmonies moistened my eyes, as the original always does.👍
You gals are awesome. I think this was a beautiful! You brought it to life with yalls spin. Truly talented. Yalls creativity and soul are shining thru. You go girllls. Keep rockin! 🤟💚

Chicago? Sam Cooke and Lou Rawls (the other voice in the original) grew up together in Chicago.
Such a wonderful version. Awesome harmonies, and Megan's lines were lovely.
YEAH....YEAH....NOT SO MUCH!!
One of the most beautiful songs ever written and recorded... Sam Cooke and Lou Rawls... Larkin Poe, well done you!
Lou Rawls. Those are some awesome voices.
Sam Cooke was smiling all the way through!! Absolutely flawless! 👍🏻😎🎸🎶🎶🎶👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻☘
Beautiful job, I remember listening to this song back in the 60's on a transistor radio, well done..
Means so much to me.
"If you ever change your mind
About leaving, leaving me behind
Baby, bring it to me
Bring your sweet loving
Bring it on home to me"
Bringing this old man to tears....thanks you sweet sisters.
60 years old this year. My dad rocked Sam Cooke my entire growing up years. It can still be heard in my home to this day. Great work ladies.
Sam and Lou would have love you two!
...that slide playing. It's divine!
Sam Cooke is one of the very best vocalist and this was a gorgeous rendition
Megan does a good job with the Lou Rawls part. Yeah, that’s who’s singing harmony in the original. 😮
These sisters carry the "family harmonies" as well as being great musicians. It can't get any better.
I love the honesty in their music! No effects what so ever! Just real vocals and so well done!

Thank you Megan and Rebecca for Bringing It (music) On Home to Me for a few years now. 💜💜
You're the best.
You're a Poe-t, Frank. 🎸🎸🎸

@@edwardcochran5060 I totally agree with you. We love his music and that's what inspired Larkin Poe to pay tribute with this cover. ☮️💜🇨🇦
Thank you so very much Rebecca & Megan.
Can’t wait to see you 2 in October. Aloha. Well it’s 2024 now and you two were fantastic at the Monterey Jazz and Pop. Just came back to say thanks.
Love the cover. Larkin Poe has such amazing voices.

Just discovered these two a few weeks ago... and now I can't stop watching their videos. Amazing talent, great chemistry and SO likable!
These wonderful two artists are completely unable to disappoint me, although I prefer to see and hear them as a four headed band. But I admit, as a duo they present excellent craftswomanship.
That is as close to perfection as is possible. Gives me shivers and a lump in me throat
Again and again, knockin’ it clear outta the park! The harmonies are always gorgeous! 😍

Yea. Yea. Yea. Yea. . . .Oh yeah. You two bring it every time.
Love Sam Cooke and your version of this song.
You get such a great sound out of that little Deco guitar!
A soulful cover of a wonderfully soulful classic. Well done ladies! 👏 👏
The way Rebecca vibes so hard during the slide solo, playing progression and lost in the music. That’s what music is here for.
You guys did a very nice job on this Sam Cooke classic song. I particularly enjoyed the harmony vocals. I could see you guys performing more of Sam's great songs! 👍👍👍👍👍
So simple, so sweet, yet, timing perfection!
It was already great. And then came that first slide note... Good Lord!
Beautiful job on a classic blues number! Thanks.

38. Absolutely love me some Sam Cooke, but yeah, you're right massively underappreciated by my gen and the next
Im Germany we call this type of song „Schenkelspreizer“. Hard to translate that, but it‘s the type of music you hear when getting busy with your Mrs/Mr 😉
😂
Yeah we call it a love song
We call that “baby-making music”
I didn't know I needed to know this but I absolutely did
Nice one😂
Excellent! Still never a bad cover, and as a Certified Old Person, who remembers when this song first came out, I'm inclined to believe that Sam would approve of this version.
