- Hey team, heres a much needed update on our 1980 Bigfoot trailer renovation. Things have slowed down a bit but we're still making steps to get this thing on the road! Thanks to everyone who helped make this episode possible. ❤️

How freaking cute is Frankie!! Seeing you guys grow with him as parents is such a joy. I can't believe that I've been following this channel for almost 5 years - and parasocial or not, and probably echoing what everyone else has said - I mean it when I say I'm going to miss you guys every Saturday morning. At a certain point, I realized that part of my weekend morning routine was putting you guys on and hearing about your adventures in the Prius. Thank you Levi and Leah for sharing your life with us, I'm just over here shedding a tear at how lucky Frankie is to have you guys as parents. Much love from Houston!

@@LeahandLevi Just sayin, from Frankie's expressions on camera, I think he might just take over with his own channel. Would be interesting to view his parents through his eyes and the challenges he faces in bringing up parents. Ha! Ha! Hopefully, you will consider an update at least once a quarter.
I love the "Levi Job Jar" list. Guy and Jean run a tight ship - it's so great to see. Also, so wonderful to see John and Barb make a cameo appearance. Finally, Leah and Frankie continue to be absolutely adorable.

The variety of things that you are just now learning to do it staggering! I don't say that specifically to be mean, just tht I find it surprising. Esp considering how hands on your parents are with so many different things. I am glad, though, that the whole reason that we are seeing you go thru the process of learning these things is BECAUSE you recognize that you don't know how to do a lot of rudimentary tasks and you want t learn to do them! I think if there were more people who DON'T have these skills but had the same initiative that you do, instead of just throwing up their hands and complaining that they were never taught, we would all be in a better position as humans!
Learned lots of things growing up but dad and I had a complicated relationship in the shop. But now we’re there trying to figure things out!

My husband and I absolutely love Levi's laugh. My husband said it is that Canadian humor. He recognizes it since he is, well, Canadian! I can see Frankie's sense of humor already!

I got my girl a front mounted seat right when she turned 12 months in January and she loves going on the bike so much! I was hesitant about having her on the handlebars but she can see out everywhere and feels safe right between my arms. I commute as much as I can on it and when she sees her helmet when getting ready for daycare she gets super excited and tries to put it on and run out the door. If we haven't been on the bike for a while and we are outside she will walk over to the bike and point to it and babble at me 😄

I’ve got news for you Levi, it’s not just millennials that get satisfaction from gardening, building, sewing. People have been finding joy and meaning from using their own hands to create for millennia.
Haha yes that’s true I suppose! More of a human trait than just a generations. 😆
Millennials have made a huge shift into these activities in recent years. We are finding our way back to self sufficiency from convenience lifestyle that we were conditioned by media to believe was a way better quality of life than gardening, knitting etc which were considered activities for old people.
@@zabmcauley5647As Gen X, this is all just the lifestyle I grew up with in the 70s and which my college classmates and I just continued when we got our own places in the 90s. I wonder if you are onto something saying that your generation is more influenced by the media to do something different so it feels like more of a statement, whereas we weren’t allowed to watch so much media and of course didn’t even have access to the internet until we got to college at all so we just chug along with the values of our closer community like our friends and families, cooking and gardening and making things with our hands when the inspiration grabs us to give it a try, and that doesn’t seem unusual. :) (edit: it is so weird that you feel the need to find your way back to something within a decade or two, however. Gardening, for example, is difficult for older people to do, physically, so this idea that it is an old person’s hobby has to be artificially created. As you say, it’s the media lying to your generation about what exists in the world around you, basically. But as long as you guys have found you happiness in this, that is most important, and getting past the misinformation that people don’t behave in those ways is second in importance.)

I do miss these. I have been focused on health stuff so this was a nice diversion.
Gotta admit, for a bit there I thought you were hanging up the channel early -- but, of course, I also realize you all have a very full load to deal with. I'm happy to hear you're taking time to *take care of yourselves* first and it's great that you can still get an update ( a good one at that!) out to us eventually!
Being parents is probably the most important, and valuable, job you could have in this world. Just look how many of society's problems are the result of parents who weren't there, or were over-burdened, alone/unsupported or just left the internet/Twitter/TikTok to be the nanny.
While it was clear to me when you bought the trailer that you were gonna be in over your heads -- I even thought to myself " and with a newborn? Are they crazy?" -- it appears that with the love and support of family, it is, and will be, one *amazing, positive* experience! Another benefit is that in Victoria, you'd almost certainly have to pay for a place to store the trailer when not in use, so you're reducing the costs of owning it while benefitting or rewarding those that have supported and even made the whole project possible -- almost poetic how well it seems to have worked out!

Presently I’m building a kayak and it’s a lot of the same feeling as you’re getting from the trailer build. In the beginning I didn’t do anything without help from my father-in-law but now I’m going in on my own as much as not and am learning so many handy skills I’ve never had before.

so, just like many others I will miss your videos as part of my weekend routine but am so happy for y'all!! I do wish there were going to be updates in the future (even if it was every 3-6 months or so lol) but whatever works for your family is what is best!! With the hours and hours of work, and driving, and ferries, and equipment you could have just bought a new trailer 😂 But its good content and the end result will make you much happier. So good on you!!
Most of my extended family moved out of NYC to very suburban New Jersey. It’s hell to someone like me that does not drive, and my poor Aunt has to rely on her daughter, or son-in-law to get her around (they are doing inter-generational like you, but my cousin and her husband own the house, she helps with their two sons).
Even the transit out there is just awful (they do not live near the one rail line in that county.) NJ Transit is way underfunded, and there is talk of fare hikes PLUS service cuts “soon”.
I think people that move out there are crazy (property tax is insanely high out there too,) I also think that they think I am crazy for wanting to stay in the city. 🤷♂️

Like all RUclipsrs , you get burnt out. There is a life without it. Also , stress is brought on yourself . Having a child is a big commitment , if anything buying a trailer would have been easier & you could just enjoy it . Sometimes older is not better. It’s a pride & ego thing as well to rebuild , good hobby , but like all RV’s & boats etc , just a hole you dump $ into, so live for yourself & not for the you tube community .

I mean I think that you all are really taking the wrong path in apologizing to your viewers every time you upload a video. Please stop doing that. We have lives as well (I hope). While I love watching your video creations, I don’t sit around wondering from week to week, why you haven’t posted. I just enjoy the work that you do when you do it.
I think what you are experiencing is a feeling of obligation. Creation should never be about that.

Ah yes, the ubiquitous and inevitable rural "spare parts" treasure hunt. So many of my relatives growing up had the same thing. No matter what you needed, someone in the family had a spare or three "...out back in the shed." 😆
