Yeah, I keep hearing people using the argument that “they are trained to handle the recoil” but that doesn’t change the fact that this gun, isn’t a .22
This game is technically designed to be played from a third-person perspective, not a first-person perspective.
For all people commenting about the bullet. This gun is more often chambered in 12.7x108mm than 12.7x99mm(.50)
Regular versions use 12.7×99mm cartridges, while variants for importing to other countries use 12.7×108mm cartridges

well, it uses 12.7x108mm (basically a 50 BMG but for soviet union, warsaw pact, modern russia, china, etc. *taken from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia* )
so.. i say it's pretty cool
(also coming from an indonesian, it inspires the Pindad SPR-2 which is basically the M93 but in .50 BMG because SPR-1 is a single shot 7.62x51mm NATO lmao)

Far Cry 4:Great models,animations are great(though on the bolt in anim the bolt gets in without the need of the right arm) and great sounds.
Soldner Secret Wars:Best depiction out there.69/420.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint:Sounds are ok,model is great and animations are good for a Third Person Game.
Far Cry 3:Same as Far Cry 4.A difference I noticed the idle and shooting anims changed between these games.

Far Cry 4: Weirdly metallic shoot sound that denies the inherent bass boom in a .50, but good reverb/echo. The reload is not likely something any sane person would do, but it is decently weighted and paced.
Soldner: Meme replies not dignified. Decent sound, though still a little light, decent reverb. Reload sounds are buggy and don't really work. Animations are... buggy and antiquated, and model quality is confusing. Accurate recoil for shoulder-firing a bolt-action .50.
Ghost Recon: "How boring and underwhelming can we make a huge rifle?" Pop gun sounds, no reverb, decent but bog standard reload sounds. Recycled third person animations that hide bolt operation behind the operator's massive mitts and short-cycle the bolt on reload, plus clipping into the magazine. Earns the "Ubisoft Didn't Try" award.
Far Cry 3: BLAMMO you are deaf now. Arguably the most .50 shoot sounds of the group. Otherwise on par with Far Cry 4, as FC4 re-uses this animation. The shells ejecting in front of the scope when aiming are a bit weird though.
Best: Far Cry 3
Worst: Soldner
Blandest: Ghost Recon
Who says it's in .50? It also comes in 12.7x108mm so it could be that
@@vanja2565 .50 is a catch-all phrase because 12.7mm is equivalent to .5 inches, give or take. If I included BMG in my comment, that was a mistake.

There are reverb and echo effects in breakpoint, affected by the surrounding area and weather conditions

Indonesian have a .50 Cal Sniper Rifle which the design is look like a M93 Black Arrow, SPR-2 manufactured by PT. Pindad. By the way, Indonesian Special Air Force (PASKHAS TNI-AU) snipers also used the M93 Black Arrow

My favorite sniper rifle in Far Cry 3. Let's be honest, it's the best one to have. Ok the AMR is great with it's 12 shots capacity instead of the 10 one in the original with extended mag but there's no suppressor on it.

AMR in Far Cry 3 is over powered and that's why we love it

The Barrett M98B uses .338 Lapua (8.6x70mm) and the Zastava uses .50 BMG (12.7x99mm)
A more accurate comparamision would be the Hecate rifle, as they use the same cartridge and the same operating system.

The only problem I've got with FC 4 is the shell casing sounds way too small for a .50 cal. It just doesn't sound right when you fire a round and you don't hear that lower sound of a much bigger casing.

Makes me facepalm to see such great animations in far cry 3 wich is a game that came out on 2012... And then there is ghost recon breakpoint wich came at 2019. Yeah that game didnt go well.
One is first person. One is third person. Surely one would be able to put more attention into a game where the only things you see are arms and a rifle whereas in a third person you have to animate literally everything else including a body.
Surely, but you would think with such advanced time the gaming company's would put more effort in at least not making it clip trough the bloody gun.
