Hi unfortunately you can't do that. This effects only works for text. If you wanna do it on an object, you have to manually animate the position one by one. Otherwise, there must be an expression out there to automate it (idk any).

Hey Nicolas, thanks for your kind words! There is no one way to do speed graph. Different curve, gives different effect. What I did here, of course, might be different to others. The curve that I did here isnt necessarily to "speed up" the text. It basically just means the animation starts from 0 speed, the ramps up 1/4 of the way, then slows right down at the end. They're pretty much the same thing! Although using set matte, you can use only one layer to "matte" a couple of others. Whereas trkmat, you have to have a matte layer for every single layer
hey, i might be 6 months late on this, but make sure your matte layer has a FILL in it! thats what fixed my issue. it needs to be a filled solid, cant be empty. then you'd turn the eye icon off so it's not visible.
you gotta make sure that the matte layer is off first. Also this is an old tutorial. The new AE has a new matte feature that would make it way easier for you. If things still doesn't work, try do it again from scratch. It worked for other people :)
Hey Hajra, "Easy Ease" is a term in AE that means smoothing out your key frames. You can Google it for more info, or I have a tutorial that talks about keyframes here: ruclips.net/video/WyU30vgN104/видео.html

Hi! Sorry it might be a late answer, I just tried this tutorial. I first select the layer that I'm working on (in this case the Reveal text layer) and then added Rotation... it now adds as Animator 2 :)
It is not easier to put the matte layer above the text layer and change the track matte of the text layer to inverted alpha? Instead of creating a set matte effect
Hey yep you can absolutely use track matte too. There's no right and wrong! :) I use track matte all the time, but I want to get used to using Set Matte :)
@@Animotion1 Thanks! I've never used Set Matte, but I think it's worth using when we're trying to apply the same reveal effect in many layers at the same time/same comp, right? In that way we don't need to create various solid layers to apply the track matte individually in each text layer, for example. Is it right? Great video, btw!

hey! if you're using shape layer like I did, add Gaussian Blur to it Otherwise, instead of use shape layer, use Solid and create mask on it. Then add feather :)
Oh! Literally just go on the Text Tool or hit T on your keyboard. And then click on the screen :D no fancy way, just basic thing you'd do in any design/animation softwares!

You can copy paste those keyframes, then select on those keyframes and right click, then select time-reverse keyframes :)

When I animate the offset I can see the cursor move but the text is alway present. Would you know why?

Did not work, my shape layer doesnt go invisible, my text doesnt wobble . Unclear weird subtitles popping up randomly .

Didn't work for me at all..... I'm using a PNG text instead of text in AE.... Would this change anything?
Hey Luke! Yeah sorry this point works with a text layer. PNG is an image file, which don't apply to this.
I tried to export this animation to json but I think its not working ... the bodymovin exported a json but the invisible square just don't get well.
Hmmmm yeah that's tricky with JSON! You can maybe export this as .mov first then convert to Json?

Omg sorry for the late response. You need unclick the Animator 1 before adding a new value. And make sure you select the "Animate" not "Add"
Why use "Set Matte" and not just apply an alpha matte to the rectangle on top of your text? Seems like an extra step.
