    Great video the major scale is truly the most used and consistent part of music and even modes come from this

    Amazing video. Couldn't agree more. Been studying the major scale for months and it has opened up my eyes to theory. Everything from this helps.

    Great lesson thanks! just wondering when I practice switching from one key to another, sometimes I forget what 3 and 5 notes are on the key I was playing, so I might make a mistake hitting the wrong note. So is it important to remember the 3 and 5 notes for each key?

    Will you please make a lesson explaining what kind of shapes you were talking about in this: ruclips.net/user/shortsjTqG_ltRyjE?si=qIx1ztr-ijeuiwPM
    It seemed like you were searching for the chord in your head, and once you found it you built something of an arpeggio shape based on that, but I can’t quite make the connection on my own. A lesson would be much appreciated!

    Roy Sir ,You are really handsome. I have been playing the guitar for a long time, but I seem to be far away from the guitar. After listening to your words, I immediately figured it out. Thank you very much. I also like your playing.🎸🎸

    Way too much time spend explaining how this is 'concept' is going to really improve your playing.... before we learn he wants to teach us the major scale.

    • @RoysGuitarTechniques
      @RoysGuitarTechniques  3 месяца назад +5

      The intro was just 30 seconds.... as I wanted to set the stage for the importance of this before diving into the specifics. It might seem basic to some, but understanding this concept deeply can literally transform a guitarists ability to navigate the fretboard and understand music theory. You'd be surprised how many players can't play this on one string, or know the pattern by heart. There's a huge difference between playing a major scale 3 note per string shape, and laying it out across the fretboard.
      If you're already familiar with it, great. My goal was to make sure everyone was on the same page before moving into more complex stuff. Thanks for watching.

      Considering that the major scale is the literal foundation of all western music, yeah; it makes perfect sense for you to learn it. I'd go into more detail about how learning this would improve your playing but wouldn't want to waste your time with boring, conceptual jibber-jabber... just wail away at some power chords, dude. You'll get there eventually with enough stumbling and fumbling. Learning stuff is for nerds.

      @@aasoriano8467 No thanks, I play professionally. Cool advice, but I think there are enough basic music theory YT videos out there that no one really needs to make any more. If you, or that guy, doesn't want to learn the major scale on one string, after all of the benefits are explained; that's on you all. And hey, don't be afraid to take your own advice. 👍

      @@monsterram6617Sure, for some it may be well worth hearing this explained. But the title is 'One Theory Concept Guitarists Can't Ignore". Sure, they can't. But it is like saying: "One Math Concept Mathematicians can't ignore." And then revealing the topic to be the concept of subtraction. The title is very click-bait-like.
