  • In this video Chris shows you how to smoke beef chuck on the Gateway drum smoker for BBQ beef sandwiches. He is smoking with cherry and pecan wood and seasoning the beef with Blues Hog's Bold and Beefy rub.

    5:10 - roast on cooker
8:45 - Check temp and wrap
10:30 - Check temp and feel. Pull to rest.
    12:15 - Unwarp - cut/chop
Stealing this. I'll use pink butcher paper given my prior success with brisket on the GDS.

    Great Video! 3 questions:
    1. Can you slow and low smoke in these say 225-250?
    2. Can you put multiple cooking racks in them to cook several things at once without hanging?
    3. What's a better smoker, this or the Big Green Egg?
    Thanks!

cupofjoe2988 yes yes and the green egg also works for oven items. Pies. Pizza etc. heavy and fragile.

@@gloriab9361 awesome. I bought a big green egg from these folks years ago. Just picked up a gateway drum from them too hahaha. Still experimenting on the drum. Got to learn how to get it just right like I have with my egg.
      Thanks!
