  • Here's a video of our first cook on the PK Grills PK-TX. For this cook we used Clayhill's hickory charcoal, GrillGrates, and Kosmo's Q Cow Cover rub.

    This guy uses lump, a PK, and Kosmo's. Yea, he knows what he is doing. Nice steaks too. But that Kosmo's, yea, it's that good.

      He probed it at the edge of the steak so he doesn’t know what he’s doing

    I love my PK grill. I do, however, find it funny that he wears a glove to touch the raw meat, then uses the gloved hand to handle the rub, then transfers the rub to his un-gloved hand. What was the point of the glove?

    Love it, always great to follow fellow cook-tubers! First thing I caught is how clean your video as well as your place is! Is that Kosmo's Cow Cover? I just ran out of it. Sweet looking grill. I love using my grill grates! Best thing there is. Great video!

      Hi Pauley, thanks for the compliments. We're glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, we did use Kosmo's Cow Cover and the Grill Grates are awesome for making those perfect grill marks on your steaks.

    Great video! With that grill grate, does that also prevent any flame flareups? How would you control potential fires/bigger flareups when they happen?

    $20 in charcoal to grill $30 of meat. Its expensive but the flavor!

    If I were to want a medium well how would I get there without burning the outside the steak?

    • @PennwoodHomeandHearth
      @PennwoodHomeandHearth  4 года назад +3

      Hi Sergio, thank you for the question. Probably the easiest way to get to medium well without burning the steak is to only use charcoal on half the grill and also use one of PK's optional raised racks. That would let you keep the steaks away from the heat. You could also use this setup to do a reverse sear. Hope this helps.

    It would be cool if they made a special spatula that fit down in between the grill grates...

    • @PennwoodHomeandHearth
      @PennwoodHomeandHearth  4 года назад +1

      Funny you should mention that ZiggZagg11, they do make a special spatula for the GrillGrates. Chris likes them for some foods but likes this spatula for his steaks.
      Thanks for the comment and hope you enjoy our videos.

    Hey Chris about how many steaks do you think you can do at a time with this method?

    • @PennwoodHomeandHearth
      @PennwoodHomeandHearth  3 года назад

      Hi Jonathan, thanks for the question. With this method where Chris flips from one side to the other, depending on the type and size of steak you will get between 2 and 4 steaks. If you were to use the entire grill surface you could get about 6 to 8 rib eyes like Chris cooked in this video.

    could 1 chimney do that?

    • @PennwoodHomeandHearth
      @PennwoodHomeandHearth  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for the question EarL. You can do this with one chimney. On this particular day it was about 27 degrees outside and we were going to be cooking about 10 steaks.

    Rib eyes should not need more than a salt pepper garlic rub.

      Hi David, thanks for the comment. Most of the time we agree with the SPG but sometimes we do like to change things up and try something new. The Cow Cover from Kosmo's Q was a really good choice here. Thanks again for the comment and thanks for watching.

    Jesus Christ man you ruined a perfectly good steak with all that seasoning,a good steak just needs salt and that’s it,you spend a lot of money on a quality steak and ruin it with that crap you put on it,how the hell can you taste the beef..
