Genesis 1:1 - Syntax
~
In this episode we explore the basic grammar rules of Genesis 1:1, laying the foundation for all occurrences where these first set of rules apply.
We look at each of the seven words in Genesis 1:1, carefully observing
Hebrew word order (verb-subject-object)
parts of speech (noun, verb, adjective etc.)
grammatical and lexical function
Also do we explore the curious fact that the Bible opens with a word - BERESHIT - breaking the rule / pattern of beginning a sentence with a verb! More on this in the next episode!
