As a "Puerto Rican" woman I find myself constantly incensed by the continuous avoidance and absence of any discussions concerning the rampant child sexual abuse, incest (I do not refer to marriages between cousins, but rather, sexual abuses within father/daughter, uncle/niece, etc), domestic violence, familial dysfunction, and on and on. Children are being sold, raped, abused (in all manners of abuse) by their very blood relations! HELLOOOO! *knocking on heads* ANYONE HOME??? All I ever seem to hear about are economics, population immigration, statehood vs. Independence... Are you kidding me? FUCK THE NUMBERSSSSSS! FUCK ALL THAT! Even PR's that present themselves as formally "educated" are guilty of this! Even moreso, because they have been educated AND THEREFORE SHOULD KNOW BETTER! They should be painfully aware of the need to address these issues...yet I never hear a thing. I hear plenty from Russia & Costa Rica on these issues...but not Puerto Ricoooooo! Maybe it's because ...*sings* "Oh baby, I like it like that!"

I think its warped because its a copy of an old film. They deteriorate over time if not stored/cared for properly.

Ya para 1970, el Partido Popular Democrático había supuestamente gobernado a Puerto Rico por 18 años. Supuestamente el “Estado Libre Asociado (ELA) de Puerto Rico, según Luis Muñoz Marín, es lo mejor de los dos mundos (Puerto Rico y Estados Unidos). Esa democracia de Muñoz tiene hoy a dos terceras partes de los boricuas fuera de nuestro territorio nacional, y los que no, la mitad viven en la pobreza. Estados Unidos (EU) ha usado esa democracia de Muñoz para ignorar a 42 resoluciones de la Organización de Naciones Unidas pidiéndole que devuelva inmediatamente la soberanía de Puerto Rico a los puertorriqueños. Boriken se descolonizará solamente cuando los 6 millones de boricuas mundialmente hagamos resistencia permanente para obligar a EU a cumplir con la ley internacional. La democracia boricua que nunca se ve.

@@DonQuijote1975 That all depends on the individual. Maybe you have more European in your DNA, but many I know that took their DNA had high African and some had higher Taino than most. Why would anyone want to embrace more European when it was Europeans that mistreated and slaughtered many Tainos and enslaved Africans?

Puerto Rico does not suffer a psychological problem. It's not an ideological problem that keeps them back.
The problem is much simpler than that. The problem is racial. Races exist and different races react different to different things, this is scientifically proven.
Puerto Ricans' worst enemy is their African DNA and their Taino DNA. These two DNA groups are lower than the European DNA but are still considered important, for no good reason to them, because in reality they do not live like Africans nor the native Tainos, they live more like Europeans. So for them to improve their situation they must embrace an European identity, as descendants of those people who brought the standard of living all of them strive for, and favor the whitening of their kind. Which means that a Puerto Rican having children with a black Dominican is worsening the racial situation for the island.

Los mas prosperos son los mas blancos. Esto es una realidad en latinoamerica y el mundo.
Los mas problematicos son negros.
Cualquier nacion que quiera mejorar buscará mas blancura racial. Otros factores cuentan, no por ser blanco eres automaticamente una buena persona, pero la raza es un gran factor.
Si dejariamos un poco las emociones de lado y nos enfocariamos en lo biologico un poco mas, veriamos cambios positivos.
