රාජසිංහ විසින් වරින් වර කොටුව වෙත බලවත් ප්‍රහාර දියත් කලත් නිතර නිතර එල්ලවන පෘතුගීසීන්ගේ කාලතුවක්කු ප්‍රහාර හේතුවෙන් රාජසිංහ අපේක්ශා කල ප්‍රතිපල නොලැබිණි.නමුත් පෘතුගීසින්ගේ සියළු සැපයුම් මාර්ග වලක්වාලමින් බරපතළ ලෙස කොටුව වටලා පෘතුගීසින් අඩපණ කිරීමට රාජසිංහට හැකිවිය.
කොටුව ඇතුලතින් එල්ලවන ප්‍රහාර හේතුවෙන් කොටුව තුලට ලඟාවීම රාජසිංහට ප්‍රබල අභියෝගයක් වූ අතර කෙසේ හෝ කොටුව තුලට කඩාවැදුනහොත් පෘතුගීසින්ට අවසානය ලඟාකරදිය හැකි බව රාජසිංහ සිතුවේය.
උමං මාර්ගයක් හරහා කොටුව තුලට ඇතුළුවීමට ඔහු උත්සහා කලේ මෙයට විකල්පයක් ලෙසය.අවස්ථා කිහිපයකදීම උමං මාර්ග හරහා කොටුව වෙත ඇතුළු වීමට රාජසිංහ උත්සහා කලේය. පතල් කැණීමට දක්ෂය පිරිස සොයා ටිකිරි කුමරු හෙවත් රාජසිංහ රජු ඔවුන්ගෙන් සේවය ලබාගත්තේය.පළමුව රාජසිංහ රජුගේ හමුදාව බේරේ වැවේ ජලය ඉවත් කළේය. මුල්ලේරියා වෙලෙහි වතුර ලෙයට හැරවු ටිකිරි කුමරු පෘතුගීසීන්ට එරෙහිව යුද ප්‍රකාශ කළේ සිංහලයට මහත් අභිමානයකින්.රාජසිංහ රජු නැතිනම් ටිකිරි කුමරුගේ යුද්ධමය දක්ෂතාවයය නිසා බටහිර ජාතීන් ජුලියස් සීසර් ලෙස අමතන ලදි.

Prince Tikiri or King Rajasingha sought the services of the people who were skilled in mining. First, King Rajasingha's army removed the water from the Beira lake. Prince Tikiri, who turned the water of Mulleria Wela into blood, declared war against the Portuguese with great pride for the Sinhalese. King Rajasingha, or Prince Tikiri, was called Julius Caesar by the western nations because of his military prowess.
