Band-Maid put more work into a single song than most bands put into an entire album
Band-Maid is the epitome of what hard work and dedication will produce. Kanami was/is Miku's guitar Sensei, and for Miku to accomplish what she has in the tiny amount of time she has, is a proof of the love and kindness Kanami has within her, she's a true Gem.
Many of us recently saw Band-Maid play “From Now On” live. OMNG! Kanami riffed her ass off. And the DB’s matched the BPM’s! So FROM NOW ON, Band-Maid will grow in popularity even faster as their 2023 BAND-MAID 10TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR continues in the US (and Mexico!):

"From Now On" is Kanami's gold medal performance but Akane on drums makes her work for all she's worth to win it :)

Band Maid - Best band out there.
I just saw them play this live in Portland (8/11) and Sacramento (8/14). For Sacramento, I was about 4 feet away from Kanami, and the look of sheer joy on her face as she was shredding away was amazing!

Band-Maid is a miracle. These ladies stole my ear, my heart, and my love two years ago and I don't want any of them back. I just want to enjoy their music, their personas, their joyfulness, for the rest of my days. I'm getting old, I grew up with The Beatles, but this band, these wonderful ladies, what a joy they are to witness.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this song performed live three times with this MV quality in Tokyo & Kawasaki and dropped my jaw three times 😲. This song has been normally played in the middle of the setlist to give Saiki, lead vocalist, some break. They played this song, however, as opening at many festivals and in Guns N' Roses concert in Japan as support to the legendary band. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to the audience who knew nothing about the girls in maid outfit on the stage. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Listen to us and open your eyes wide! We are not the persons that you think ! Salute us!" 😄
You noticed their energy. Band-Maid did not play it in the final concert of 2022 US Tour. In an interview Kanami explained the reason why B-M didn't play it in Chicago: "From Now On requires a lot of adrenaline to play, but I was a bit anemic that day. I would have passed out if we did it". [source : Japanese magazine "PMC vol.25" page 100] .... I don't blame you, Kanami 💛。Then B-M played "From Now On" as 21st in the total 26-song setlist at Tokyo Garden Theater on Jan.9 this year. If Kanami is in good shape, her adrenaline is inexhaustible 😍
The old 'Shut up Kanami is talking'' catchphrase always comes to mind when this song comes on. I mean what can you say when Kanaim is talking like this. Especially when the rest of the band join in with the conversation. Could listen to them talk like this for hours.
Very cool to see you getting into the band. So many dimwits take one look at the maid outfits and don't even give them a chance. We maidiacs are like "NO - YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND - THEY ARE AWESOME MUSICIANS!!!" Plus they just make you happy, and who doesn't like that?!
This type of people probably never heard of a word 'unique'. BandMaid found their own special image and upcroach. And I absolutely adore it!

And in terms of falling for these ladies, even though I adore them all. However, Misa's bass playing is what captivates me most. Anytime they give her a moment in a song to shine with a bass solo, I light up with joy.
The more I listen to this song the more my mind is blown up by Akane on drums
This song is a hero's journey compress. You can just imagine a movie playing inside your head.

Hi Julia, The Ladies of Band-Maid JUST Released a new song today, called "Shambles". It is the outro song for an anime, and is really really good. It is available on their channel.
Also they are performing tonight in Chicago Illinois at the "AfterParty" for the first night of Lollapalooza, and they have a full hour on Friday/tomorrow performing at Lollapalooza. They then start the second leg of their US tour, before heading BACK to Japan to get ready for their tour ending concert at the Yokohama Arena in front of 18,000 fans.
Shambles just droped hours ago and it's nothing short of brilliant!! Right before Lollapalooza yet was a stoke of genius!! 🤘🎸🔥
If you like that one, check out 'Without Holding Back'. You might have a challenging time making a Reaction of it because it's only on the Chinese site Bilibili and it doesn't always pay nice. Yes, Miku's guitar teacher, Kanami is very patient with her. When Kanami wrote a song, which she knew was beyond Miku's capabilities, she wrote another song that they did first that would help Miku get her playing up to speed in order to then tackle the first song.

Thankee Julia, I don't see Cherry, I hope you are still practicing. And Happy Anniversary to you for YOUR 23rd orbit around the big giant star in the center of our solar system as well as the Ladies 10th anniversary. I am hoping that the Ladies will tour the EU next year so you and your parents will have the opportunity to go see them live for yourself. If they do and you go, you will be even more impressed with how they take what is on the record and bring it full form to the stage, and in many cases make it even better.

If you like MISA playing bass, then the best example is the official live movie of "Manners and Black Hole". The Manners song there is totally driven by the bass.

I believe the piano is a recording of Kanami, she trained as a concert pianist in music school. Sometimes you may hear the violin... because one of them, I think MISA played the violin in school? I think I read that somewhere.
Probably (or most surely), the synthe play and programming are done by Mincho where the melodies and lines are written by, mainly Mincho, and independently from her, by MISA for her bass part and Ahchan for her drums. Another way of saying is that there are three song writers/arrangers in the band, and almost every musical piece of them is a fruit of their collaborations, not without greatest contributions from Kobato and Saichan.
BTW, MISA doesn’t play the violin… I don’t think so. That's synthe, isn't it?
No, Kanami is not trained in music school. It’s true she’s been learning piano since she was 3.
MISA, Kanami and Akane all started out learning piano as young children but found greater loves as time went on!
In addition to bass MISA can play guitar, alto horn and trumpet but not - as far as I am aware - violin.

Great reaction. They are so talented, just awesome. And, you're very pretty.
It's a real shame the deep bass on this recording has been high-pass filtered out during mastering (for "maximum loudness" - as usual) - the bottom frets on the bottom B-string of Misa's bass are almost completely lost.
In case people aren't aware, that bottom string on her 5-string bass is B0 (30.87Hz) open - at 2:58 at the end of her break on this song (2:42 on the original vid) she plays a C#1 (2nd fret) which is 34.65 Hz.
I have noticed that Band Maid seems to master their songs for a more 'mid-fi' sound as they use a lot of compression too. Its' a shame, but seems to be the norm now. Peace.
I noticed that too - the low runs at the end of her solo couldn't be heard well.
@@j.snyder4957 It was her bass that grabbed me when I first heard a couple of the live versions of BM songs (I literally said to someone soon afterwards; "she's one of the best bass players I've ever heard", and I'm a life-long bass-head, it's the lynchpin instrument for me).
Misa adopted a 5-string so she could use the same tuning for entire concerts, including many numbers in E flat or D (used a lot in heavy rock/metal and hence by BM), but then started using those stygian bottom notes often (even hitting the string open occasionally) for the hell of it to add serious weight to many numbers, which you can hear much better on their live recordings than the hyper-compressed studio versions.
I remain bitterly disappointed that BM's studio releases have been treated the same way as most disposable pop/rock - but then the same applies to many other great bands (for e.g. Muse's entire back catalogue is just as bad).

Just another superb and Awesome instrumental from BAND-MAID. And another "seek out" song from the Maids. There are many reasons to love BAND-MAID but it's all just a cherry on top of their stunning music and musicianship. Peace. 4.39

It surprises me that you've not chanced across the Wagakki Band, yet, given all the great Japanese musical things you've hit, so far. The Wagakki Band is probably the most creative Japanese product to date, eight outstanding musicians, rock instruments and traditional, all tied together and somehow made to work. Hello...enjoy your reactions.......BUT your music audio on your channel is horrible....your voice is fine, but the music sounds like its on a cell phone....I checked your other videos and its the same. I listen on a really high end set of headphones , amp and D/A converter. It makes it hard to enjoy. There are several channels on you tube that sound great.....Im only trying to help !!!!
