Despite being more optimistic with the Habs’ prospects now, Snake remains one of the few guests who calls it the way he sees it. And I luv that! Hope Tony you invite him on your new BPM show in the fall.
Montreal will indeed be a playoff team for several years. However, they are still 2 players away from being a genuine cup contender: Montreal still need a first line center for sure which is the hardest position to fill in the NHL along with a real top 1 defenseman. This rebuild is far from over...Time will tell !!!
@@powers1500Agree, but they will be the best Habs team in more than 30 years. Exciting times. Suzuki might not be an elite number one center, but he’s still improving and his 200-foot game is very very good. I get the feeling that Michael Hage will be very good, at best a second line center and at worst a very good third line center. The Demidov draft changes everything too, we’ll have an elite winger in him and one of the top power forwards in the league in Slafkovsky.
@@loukdare2904 I don’t think they could, I think they will! 😏 And Demidov will be a superstar in this league, no doubt. He’s better than Kovalev was, and Kovy was a god in Montreal.
Suzuki is Montreal's most important player. If he gets seriously hurt early next season, Montreal might even end up drafting top 5 again...but he is no injury prone player !!!
Will it really hurt Hudson playing in Laval and learning pro hockey I don't see how it could plus Hudson and Reinbacher would develop some much needed chemistry. Hudson himself is the only one who can answer if he's ready. Hudson seems to smart to get hit to hard.
I disagree with Snake. The 2024 Draft had : Celebrini, Demidov, Sennecke, Lindstrom, Iginla, Yakemchuk, Catton, Zayne Parekh & Sam Dickinson & Zeev Buium 10 GREAT prospects (I hate Levshunov & Silayev) The 2025 Draft has : James Hagens who looks amazing. Porter Martone who looks amazing. Jakob Ihs Wozniak & Anton Frondell look great too. That’s four. Matthew Schaefer looks great. That’s five. I don’t think you’ll have TEN guys as good as the ones I mentioned from the 2024 Draft.
2024 didn't have generational prospects like McDavid or Bedard, or even close-to-generational prospects like Matthews or Jack Hughes, but it was very deep in elite prospects. Any draft with a player like Zeev Buium going 12th is VERY deep with elite talent. What a steal for the Wild.
I m eager to hear about the Alexis Joseph phenomenon who declined to play at 15 in the Q. 15 years old 6'2'. 190 pounds …Next Mario? he will dominate the aaa midget this year. Why he was not invited a this tournement ?
On the topic of finding a second line player I think at a higher level we need a FIRST line player so that Caufield can move back to the second line and or a first line center so that Suzuki can be a great second line center.I said two years ago that if we bank on Cole/Nick and Slaf to win a cup we will be waiting endlessly. Hage a FANTASTIC third lien center LMAO.Absolutely IMPOSSIBLE a third line player has to be a ROLE player like a MIKE Keane and that ROEL needs to be more defensively responsible ahard nosed player that wins board battles and does not lose games taking big risks.
You have to be creful talking about players playing better in the NHL because I have touched on this MANY times. The reason some players get better in the NHL and the reason it takes sometimes 1/2/3 years is SIMPLE and that is the yare given more ice time hq ice time and playing alongside elite players that can elevate his game. This does not mean he is playing any better it just means he is surrounded by players that allow him to APPEAR better. On th mention of Caufiled I have ROFLMAO Caufield doesn't go to the tough areas he hangs out by himself off to the side looking for a one timer. Snake hit it right on the nose Caufield plays a "perimeter" game. What makes Hutson elite is his skating which is super elite but he does not have a shot he is not a tough guy in the corners he is not a front og the net dominating player.
While Caufield is never going to be a player that excels in front of the net, I think he really diversified his game this year. He used to do just two things very well: his shot and getting open. He is great at being forgotten in the slot. In the 1st half, his shot was off. Probably lingering effects of his injury. He was down to shooting for 5%, which is very low for a guy like him. Did he just become a useless player like the first half of his 1st season? Nope. Developed his passing game with success. He is much more implicated in the play. He even attempts retrieving pucks on the board and corners. Not saying he's great at it, but it sure is better than just standing there doing nothing at all. I think this season will help a lot. Being a dual threat offensively will only help his goal scoring.
Hutson doesn't have a shot? He had like 30 something goals in 60 games and beat all NCAA records Oh "he's not a shutdwn def" ya neither is Makar... Not comparing them just making a point

With a smile, Snake predicted the Habs will be a contender for 10 years!

Hope the BPM stint will not affect the quality of the podcast. Podcast is way better than a radio show full of messages.
His insights on BPM are even better

Congratulations Tony on ypur BPM promotion 👍... will you have U Serpente as a collaborator.?

Tony, pleaze have a special fantasy pool show with U Serpente.
U Serpente in a class of his own...G.O A T
Compare Hudson to J.C. Tremblay who played for Montreal in the 1960's and quarterbacked their power play.
Question for U Serpente, who will be this years Musty and Connelly?🙏
I missed the infamous... Userpenteee
Reality check Tony !! Caufield is all about athleticism.

That's where Demidov comes in next year.

That’s called finding the holes. Thats why he scores at a high rate. And will this upcoming season. He’s scoring 40, maybe 50 this upcoming season.

Hutson is too small for playoff championship hockey. Trade him for a scoring forward. Do it!!!
@@BEYONDYOURIQ yeah. No!
He will be just fine surrounded by big defencemen. And he’s too elite to be shutdown in playoffs in his prime.
please stop naming your son Connor. Esti que c'est lourd.
