I think the Nembrini stood out as the best over all. A lot of people liked the Lancaster but to me it sounds dull. I don’t think it really captures that chime all too well. The Analog Obsession really surprised me too. For a free plug-in with a pretty dull gui I thought it sounded better than it should.
Una banda que usaba vox de por aquí era SODA STEREO, Gustavo Cerati, usaba un vox ac50 que daba a ese sonido británico tan característico, lo más interesante es darse cuenta lo versátiles que son estos amplificadores!!!
thanks for this, I like both the Nambrini and the Lancaster. Alos check out Neural DSP's ToneKing Mark II which can get very good, reactive AC30 tones.
Interesting how the Classic 30 sounds best to me and the most true to the real AC30. Nembrini was too boomy and the bass was just all over the place. It begs for a heavy low cut filter. Otherwise, the tone itself was pretty good. Lancaster was alright for cleans and gain at minimum. Once cranked up, it sadly fell apart as the gain sound nothing like VOX AC and sound very digital. For me it takes the last place. The Rollamp is another good surprise - it can deliver, however it can go past vox and almost sound like a plexi style amp by just turning the knobs. Very interesting. I did not have this plugin so I will definitely get it and see what it can deliver. But your playing and the chord progression was spot on. Thanks for the time put in this! Your best video by far.
Great review. Like you the Voice DC30 caught my ear for rhythm and lead alike. I'm going to check the Classic Thirty. I had Vox head during the mid-'90s. I don't remember the model though. All I know is it was from the '70s, was 120 watts, and was a complete monster. I used to drown out the band that practiced next to us. This was just me playing alone. lol Stay safe bro.
@@AmnerHunter the signal in general look's hot in wave form. There's a document floating around online that says amp sim need about -18db -30 DBs RMS to react correctly like the amp it was modelled. I mean if it sounds good it is good so I wouldn't worry. However, a hot signal is like having an overdrive of 10db it that makes sense. Use voxengo span to check the RMS of signal then drop input gain on the sims and see how it sounds? I only know this from recently and it made a monumental difference to how sims were for me.
@@gregknight5141 that's completly a myth man, the old gain staging myth where plugins need to have a -18 signal through them to sound proper. I have almost 10 years playing with plugins and amp sims man & let me tell you that in 24 bit systems like ours, you can record hot & just avoiding 0 db and you are gonna be fine, I do try to record where the peaks are at around -6 db tho just for caution but sometimes I record hotter just avoiding clipping and the sounds is just fine and hey, you said it best, if you use your ears more than your eyes, you are good to go man.
I have recorded the real amp before. I also have both the Voice DC30 and the Lancaster. In your video I would have to say I liked tones of the Nembrini best however the Kuassa ran a close 2nd to my ears. Great video!

Thanks brother!
That whole "Classic" range of amps are good, some of the best free sims I've found.
They rock yeah!

Classic thirty sounded great alone but in mix I liked Nembrini the most.
Thanks for your opinion man!
I have the Nembrini VST and really like it. Years ago I had a 32 bit NI VST called ACBox which was superb. JamVox is pretty good too! Gracias Amner!
Awesome, thanks for your opinion😀
I love the STL Amphub Vox sim. Recommended.
Will try it thanks

Greetings, newbie here with a newbie question. How do I add a third party IR like the one you are using here to Logic Pro. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for watching, you need to download the iR loader called pulse which is free at Lancaster audio website, that’s how I use third party impulses.
