You look amazing👍
I was surprised to catch the tuna by hand😳✨
That purple was a hog! Awesome fishin'.
Great video as usual
Matt, Remember when accessing weather situations,
There are old captains and bold captains, but
There are no old bold captains!
Excellent👏👏
Yewwwww nice video Matty
Hey Matt was wondering was the orange thing was, looked like a reef jack but still not sure. Cheers 🍻
13:46 that’s a red bass
The one dislike is obviously the shark that failed to get your mates doggy. Great footage, and I appreciate you filming your healthy respect to the ocean gods. Hopefully it makes people stop and think a little bit more when they're out on the water.
The first thing I noticed about this reel is its weight ruclips.net/user/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable but it was a little heavier than other similarly sized reels. However, that didn't deter my enjoyment of how smooth this reel is. I spooled it with 20lb. Tuf-Line XP and it's perfect for what I use it for. I have it paired with an 8'6" Medium/Fast Okuma SST Salmon/Steelhead rod. The combination is perfect for casting and even drifting. I used the reel all day and didn't experience any arm or hand fatigue except when fighting a few fish! The bail is solid and feels strong when engaging by reeling and manually closing the bail by hand. The large rubber handle grip is very comfortable. It's got a powerful drag, silky smooth reeling, and feels very comfortable in the hands. I recommend it!
Just curious man, what depth is that 😅
I was wondering the same.. How far off land?
@@leadreviewer3257 Agreed its what we all want to know..
I thought I seen 53m from his sounder
@@ChuckNorris01 out on the shelf mate, add a couple of hundred metres
@@Michael-cf9lf I'm sure that in his mind its trivial or standard.. He's wrong, if he where fishing out of a lake maybe but not to us at sea.
Hi guys I watch of your videos! I wish I meet you in person, I'm from phillipines!
7.40 Why don't you let it drag on?
Why is he in such a hurry to land it as soon as possible?
Actually don't you enjoy every hook up
But please don't throw the fish back to the water. ..give to someone else if you don't want...
Nice vid guys, sick fish and great to see your take on the weather situation, im sure it will benefit a lot of young or inexperienced crews 👌
Какая красивая вода... Удивительный цвет 🔥
damn brother......hope someday i will be able to fight a big a fish as that....
Epic fishing- never gets old watching the lock up and struggle hahahaha
You guy's ever consider fishing a little heavier? If you want those big doggies on the boat should go a large overhead and 100/130lb braid?
Can you explain to me why you guys just don't keep the drag tight versus trying to stop the drag with your hands? I feel like you guys lose half your fishes when you try to control the drag with your hands rather than just sit in the drag tight from the gecko.. I would like you guys to enlighten me on the matter. Is there something I overlooked? Cuz those reels hold 55 lb of drag and you guys are fishing with like 80 lb. Braid. Thx. And how are the certaints handling the abuse? I'm considering a 14k certate or the twin power
sometimes we have to enjoy the fish fight, without always having to lock the reel drag, and give him a little run, have you ever get 8kg fish with 0,8 PE and with reel size 1000??
well, the problem is that you usually fish near structure anfd wanna be able to land even an 50kg Tuna cause that's a fish of a lifetime, I've lost two fish of a lifetime, one cause the line was to weak, learned my lesson, I always choose my tackle to be ready for a trophy, no reason not to let a fish in open water run but you need to be able to put the heat on when it's needed, I have used 30kg drag on spin and 60kg on conventional before, mesured with a scale! ain't fun but with the right angle to the line and a good stand it's possible, of course I usually fish lighter drag but sometimes you just need to stop a fish with all you've got. but I also caught fish bigger then me on tackle that was supposed to catch baitfish with 30-50cm... but that was in a river and I even had to go for a lil dive to free the line, plus chase the fish downstream...
Imagine getting mad at matty for showing people the obvious, that they’re are doggies around the continental shelf, love your work mate
very good content got lots of knowledge while watching this up. thanks for sharing
Matty go BIGGER. Just bring at least 1 large GT type setup so you can at least guarantee 1 good fish. Just to show yourself and us at home a bigger specimen.
What is the rod name you use for jigging and the braid im from Maldives I really need to know
Why no overhead reel for doggies?
Kudos to both of you for having a healthy fear of the ocean. Week one lesson one don’t mess with Mother Nature. Sweet fish too.
Matty u sure ur not off the coast of NZ chasing kings being that far out🤣🤣🤣🤣. totally agree, its gud to be scared that far out it keeps everything real. nice sesh mate.
So epic, on every level. As someone who’s been out 40 fathoms a handful of times, to think about heading 150km off shore for the night is like a dream. Those doggies look like a heck of fun too!
Those small reels would explode over here on the big nz kings
Man you are one of the beat fishing heavy casting....very impressive
Wow! It's very absolutely fantastic.
There are not many situations in this world that scare me but a storm out to sea in a small vessel is one of them. It's too easy to avoid to risk it 👌
Who would give this a thumbs down
Always mint footage
❤❤❤ nice
What boat is that?
Matty can we conclude that it’s safe to jig with an XH reel, before I go out and copy you and use my 14000xh Saltiga 😂
if youre buying it purely for jigging i would be more inclined to go for a slow gear ratio reel. easier to jig with and also have better to torque down deep for the fight
👊🏻
can you please explain current lines, how they form, and affect fishing. Cheers
how do you see/find them
nice post
Is there a limit per day on the dogtoouth
DID YOU SEE THE FISH IN THE WATER AT 4:57
Spool says nope 🤣🤣 and now maty doesn't even let gees in the boat... don't know what the fuss about you giving to much away is mate. Epic as always

Great man 👍..
your killing it man! This channel is going to blow up..
EEEEPPPPIIIICCCC matty big fan of your work. Always enjoy your vid , and always gets soooo excited when you post new vids
Epic as always matt😎 never ever short of action that's for sure" the first fish would have been a beast of a doggy💯 I haven't done any jigging and just wanted to know about the assist hooks being on the top of the jig next to your line, why not on the bottom of the jig so the line may be further from there teeth and might be less bight offs?
when youre jigging the assist on the bottom will come up and fowl on the line and also then your using split rings which is creating possible weak point instead of tying direct to the hook when its on top
Love it; Matty vs the Dogs, the rematch! More jigs, stronger leaders, bigger biceps means more doggies on the bow! Well done boys 👍
Amen haha
That was Epic!!! really enjoyed it!
Awesome video. Geez the arms would be feeling it.
