    Would like to see.
    1. FULL Windows 11
    2. Mini, regular, Max and Ultra size model offerings (Ultra would essentially be the Surface Neo)
    3. Cover screen display

      Different sizes sound a like a great idea! Cover display for you, fully enclosed neo for me 😄

      Cover display? I think your ideal phone is the pixel fold.

      I'm excited about the fold! No pen support, i think, but otherwise it looks pretty good.

    So I'm using my surface duo right now and I love this device. I had it for about a year now.. Yes there is some issues with it like a delay in typing on websites. The annoying pull down notification but it's the other layout. You know what I mean lol. But it's amazing for media etc.
    Like you say I want the Surface duo 3 with the same size as the duo because the form factor when opening and closing this device is awesome. It needs just one flat screen on the inside maybe a little larger. No screen on the front just and indicator showing battery percentage, time or date, most important one 50meg camera in bedding in the device. I

      Yeah, there's minor gripes but for the most part it's such an enjoyable device isn't it. Thanks for the comment!

    Agreed 100% with the dual screen design, and on the single camera as well as the MS application improvement. Ans also my wish is actually to have similar flushed camera on both inside and outside panel. I love the fact that I can just flip it to phone mode etc. Great review.

      @PhilKnall  Год назад +1

      Yeah phone mode is one of the things that felt truly new and innovative on this device! I'd love if it had flush cameras on both sides. Thanks for watching.

    My wishlist, Much like yours:
    1.) New Microsoft Launcher that mimics a dual screen setup by default but you can change to a regular foldable layout in settlings. And customization on par with the Microsoft Launcher app in the Play Store.
    2.) Same size just reduced the bezels up to the hinge on the top and bottom, that way it will be 6in upgraded from 5.8in on the Duo 2 (but only on the Inside screen).
    3.) No bezels on the cover screen.
    4.) Up to 190 Hz
    5.) Team up with Leica and put the biggest baddest Camera bump on the back.
    6.) Ditch the glass, switch to Brushed Aluminum.

    Just saw this as i am possible getting a duo soon as a secondary phone as i have just come across and dual screen phone is amazing will pair well with my fold 3. Great Video.
    I have watch many videos on this device so far and this is what i think the Surface duo needs.
    1. Needs to make it a little thicker on both sides just a tad this is for an outside screen on one side I know you said you do not like that but i think this is a must. Secondly this increase on the other side would be enough to get rid of the camera bump so it can be layed out flat as you can on the surface duo 1 and give us an integrated pen this will mean the pen is always with the device and be an amazing selling feature assuming Samsung does not integrate theirs be the only folding phone on the market with one. My own person opinion is all phones should be made a tiny bit fatter to get rid of the camera bump.
    2. the inner screen needs to be one whole screen but act as two separate screens this will give us the best of both worlds so when we want to full screen(at the moment use both screens as one) we do not miss the line of data right in the middle whilst also having the usability of two screens.
    3. The bezels of the inner screens need to go you wanted a bigger screen they do not need to make the device bigger just make the inner screens have tiny bezels like Samsung or apple or pixel that will give us massive upgrade in screen real estate. Also all the screens needs to be updated to 120hz. Course as the inner screen will be foldable by that stage the crease should be gone. Also you said you used the pen on it a lot your be able to use the pen on the outside display if you was worried about damaging the inside display.
    4. Inner screen has a hole punch camera so you can get more screen, but just a upgrade every camera basically.
    5. You can put windows 11 on the original surface duo why not dual boot android and windows imagine a phone that also has full blown windows in it what a unique selling point.
    6. Bigger battery.
    7. Newest processor whatever snapdragon that is.
    8. Better and longer software support. 5-7 years 5 will match apple 7 will match the other android users. They have already done quite a lot of the ground work for software just needs some things added and refinement.
    I think if you did these changes or at least most of them and charged an extra £300 above what the duo 2 came out on this phone would be an amazing piece of kit.

      I'm actually ok with bezels, I tend to hold my phone with my fingers on a bit of the screen so they serve a purpose. I know the internet in general doesn't like them but I'm team bezels 😅

    I think it will get better for most of the potential customers out there, but maybe not for people that use it as a secondary device only (they probably keep the camera bump and will add a outside screen).
    I think still that it will get better compared to SD2, because on the Android Software front Microsoft will have collected much more experience at the time Duo3 will ship, also they will put much more effort in the 1st party Apps until then. There will be also much more third party software out there that supports a folding device.
    IMO the SD3 will be a compareable device with the other folding devices but with much more focus on enterprise: (Continuum with Windows or Cloud PC mode).
    For customers like you they should indeed go with a complete new category, a respawn of the Neo. Something that gives you a super mobile Tablet/PC, and has no camera bump, no outside screen, maybe runs the new Core PC with an additional Android kernel (like WSL2) to also support Android Apps. Then you carry your phone, for calls, photography, ..., and have a Neo instead of carrying a laptop (+ tablet).

    • @PhilKnall
      @PhilKnall  Год назад +1

      Yes to all of that. I really hope they hit it out of the park with the first party apps. And would love to see a continuum implementation, or more integrated cloud computing. Thanks for watching!

    I agree with you. I love this device. I currently have the Surface Duo 1. And have my fingers crossed that Satya didn't drop the axe on the Duo line because he doesn't think MS should be in the phone business. I was hoping the Surface NEO was going to replace the Surface Go. Or more like the Surface mini that was floating in R&D for a little while that Panos was leaking every now n then, lol

    • @PhilKnall
      @PhilKnall  11 месяцев назад

      Yeah, I was so excited about the Neo. Alas...
      With Panos gone and Satya plowing ahead with AI I have very little hope for Mirosoft's hardware in the next few years 😥

      @hughdavis9301 11 месяцев назад +1

      I'm trying to remember the title they used for his replacement. I'm probably remembering wrong but when they said Microsoft Silicon. Kind of made me think...sounds like MS focusing on chips for the Server Farms.
      At the same time a harder push for higher performance on the SQ line can help both form factors. Of course we just speculating and hoping for the best. But Satya and the board are a bit out of touch. I miss the old management. The hungry to compete and innovate MS.
      I just hope Amazon doesn't suddenly decide to bring back there failed phone, lol.

    I feel like you've been stalking my reddit post😅
    I wholeheartedly agree with you about everything you said. The aspect ratio is perfect, I want the devi e to close flat. I use to love using my duo 1 flat and write on it like a sheet of paper. I use to have a podcast and it wasn't distracting when I would write on it or type because it was so compact and flat like a sheet of paper. But I get it, we live in a society that are phone camera fantastics for some reason, so they added the bump. If they went with one folding oled screen that prioritized multi tasking over single app launch that would be awesome but I also love the 360 hinge.. I wish I could have my cake and eat it too. 😂 If they add a cover display my heart would break. The skins on my phone look awesome and I enjoy being able to deck the front out with different skins and such to mimic different books of the world. Plus I enjoy how the slim pen attaches to the front and there wouldn't be any room for the pen if they added a front cover. I think the hardware is flawless for the most part the software needs work. Mainly fixing the missing information in the gap area. Secondly adding a resize divider like they have on windows when you multi task screens or like Samsung have when you multi task screens. It could end at the edge if the inner parts of each screen and you could drag it left or right to extend to the other screen minimizing the surface area of the other app or extend it. I hope that made sense.
    Lastly, I really would like to swap app screens. Idk like if you have two apps open you could throw it to the other screen and the other app would jump to the other side. I type better with my right hand for some reason so when I type I typically put that app on the right screen and other stuff on the left. Aside from that I just want small additions like native 85% battery limit, more customizable home launcher, more support for Microsoft apps for a dual screen device. AND A FREAKING SCREEN COLOR TUNER!! We should be able to customize each screens color to get a more even tone on both screens.
    OK, I'm done. I could go on and on about this device. This is the absolute best device since the creation of the smartphone in my opinion. The dual screens are game changing. Always will be in my book. Or better yet the ABSOLUTE TOP priority of multi-tasking first everything else last.

    • @PhilKnall
      @PhilKnall  Год назад

      Absolute yes to everything you said. I think there's a good number of us who feel the same way. Thankfully the single screen will at least resolve the color balance issue...

    I love my Duo 1 but it must absolutely not get larger in the future. I can barely fit it in my pocket now and any bigger would mean I cannot use it at all the way I do now.

    • @PhilKnall
      @PhilKnall  10 месяцев назад +1

      Id love if they made two sizes, one as a phone one as a tablet. Sadly it looks like they will be making nothing at all...

      They would not need to make it bigger just get rid of the bezels on the screens and that will add a lot of screen.

    Do you think a the original Surface Duo would be an upgrade over my Note 9? I'm chugging along with my Note 9, and just wondering if I should just wait to see what Surface Duo 3 will be like...im not interested in getting any other samsung again...

    • @PhilKnall
      @PhilKnall  Год назад +1

      Well the duo was announced a year after the note 9, so I'd expect at least somewhat of an improvement performance wise. It still runs quite well.
      About the sd3, i wouldn't hold my breath of you're looking to change this year. I expect it to come next year if at all.
