Glad to see Davin coming to see you. Idigit4 was one of the first channels I started watching when I started with youtube watching. I never thought I'd use math as much as I do when I was in school. My teachers told me it would be this way. Lol. If you work in the trades, a good understanding of math is essential. The message is spot on. Being able to overcome difficulties is a must. Whether its work, our family life, or our christian walk, its easier when we pray and trust in Him. Stay safe brother.
I know what you mean, teachers told me the same thing! Yes, overcoming difficulties is essential in this life because they come in droves and don’t let up! God Bless
Good job Sam. We do a lot of septic systems here in Middle TN. Something I invested in was a tilt bucket. It makes digging the field lines so much quicker on the slopes here in Tennessee. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Jonathan! I’m definitely looking into a tilt coupler that way I also have hydraulic quick connect too. Just have to figure out how it will work with the grade control… Thanks

Enjoyed the video brother! Crazy how different soils calls for more lateral lines. The soil here drains so good and so dry it don’t take many panels lol. Devil always try’s his best to pull people down but God done won our battle! Stay blessed brother!
Great job Sam. I’m intrigued. I’ve never considered septic installation. Great message! I think you look better in the 513 shirt than I do. 😂 Thanks for all you do!
Thanks Dave! I put septic systems off for a long time and finally decided to give it a try. Passed the states test and here we go! I really like that shirt, it is very comfortable to wear.
Hey Sam, a few things I’ve picked up over the years doing septics. The hole saw is worth the money when using the Infiltrator tanks, lol. As far as fall for your outlet pipe to drain field, we ( I know everybody has different requirements to meet ) just need the height of the pipe difference. 3”pipe =3 1/2” fall, 4”= 4 1/2” fall to end cap. When digging long ditches on a slope, once you started just throw some dirt under the low side track to keep your machine level. I’ve put in 1000’s of feet of those chambers. They work wonderful in the right type soils. Not so good in others. I personally never liked plumbing through the end caps. Prefer building a header or manifold to supply each line for a more even distribution of the effluent coming from the tank. Just the way I was taught 🤷♂️. Also our ditches have to be a minimum of 7’ in between or 10’ on center. Like I say, I know everywhere is different. Those gaskets can be a booger when working by yourself. I know you haven’t done but a couple of these but maybe some helpful tips if you do anymore 👍🏻. As always, appreciate the Word and continue to share the Truth.
Yup, it’s interesting how the states require different things. D boxes aren’t allowed here at all. They will fail a system if you put one in. Our minimum fall requirement from the tank is 4”. It’s interesting that the pipe from the house isn’t even required for inspection, but I’m not fussing about that though. One less thing to deal with. Putting dirt on the path of the low side track definitely works. I do that in some applications and like the way it works. I’m hoping to get a tilt coupler to dig in grade with but have to figure out how it will work with the grade control system. Thanks for the info…
@@tristardiggin@tristardiggin I'm pretty sure the lateral from the SFD to the tank requires Inspection (it is loaded with a head of Water and a pull plug to watch it Happen from BI of record). Your work and spiritual ethics are spot-on, as you proved by overcoming the closed latch on the tilt trailer with any bad words...The excavator weight overcame the latch; I've done it twice on an aluminum car hauler. Excellent Content.
Nice work! It been a few years for me though put septic tanks in using precast most min depth for the top 6" soil, though this tank went much deeper?! there for your drain fields will have to go deeper as well. Depending on the slope grade of property usually max depth for 12" aggregated drain fields is 36" to bottom of trench. Thanks nate
4.56 percent fall from outlet of tank to leach area. Math: 52 feet x 12 inches equals 624 inches. Divide the drop of 28.5" by the run of 624" And the result will read: 0.04567 which is 4.56 percent. Dial that into the laser and start digging!!! Good job Sam!
I’m enjoying the learning process of the septic system. Seems to be straight forward and fairly easy to learn. Once I get my schedule caught up I will start advertising for installs… Thanks
Super surprised you didn't find a bunch of field stones there at my parents a 1/8 mile down the road you would of filled up a dump truck load amazing how quick it changes in an area.... As a child I mowed stacked hay all over where you are and across the street. Looks like you are getting it figured out super fast Sam, wish I would of got by to see you before you got gone but just wasn't in the cards this time.
Yup, it’s interesting how the land changes like that from one short distance to another. I’m sure that video location brought back some memories. Swing by sometime if you see me out somewhere…
Nice job Sam. Like that you show the good and the bad. Just subscribed from up here north of you in Clinton, TN. Recently took my septic installers test and look to hopefully start installing systems soon. Appreciate the overcomer message at the end. 👍🏻Take care buddy
Hey I appreciate you subscribing to support the channel. That’s cool that you got your septic license. I did that earlier this years and glad I did. I’ve installed two systems now and enjoy doing them. Glad you enjoyed the message and God Bless
Thanks Ray and glad you enjoyed the video! The end cap doesn’t have a rubber grommet. The pipe just slides through the hole. Only the tank has a rubber grommet… Sam
Nice job! Harbor Freight sells a hole saw kit that goes to 5 inches thats not very expensive and works great for the rubber grommet on those infiltrator tanks
Thanks Jeff! I did get one of those from Harbor Freight. It was like 14 bucks. That’s what I was using in the end caps in the second part of the video. Easy to use and worked great…
wow..septic systems have sure changed over the years. this is like crazy over kill! so you have to have 20 acres for a septic system it looks like? i remember back in the 80'ds and 90'ds we put in a concrete tank and field line and that was it, never any problems. this looks like a system we would do for a motel or something huge, not just a small home.
Thank you so much for your video. I've been researching trying to solve problems with ground water ingressing into my Septic tanks that have to be pumped into a sand filter. And as I dug out around the pump tank I found efluent (poo) water pooling about 1 foot deeper below the outside of the top of the tank, 3 feet total under ground. A big problem. May mean the concrete is compromised. The tank is under a cedar deck, which means tear that out, to replace the tank. I was woken today with a ton of worry, and started to go to the bible and also pray. Then found your video. At the end to find the words you shared from 1 John 5:4 I knew the Sprit sent me to watch your video. Amazing video as always! Does the 2nd disposal line have to lower in elevation than the 1st? Or just at least 24 inches deep and 6ft away it? Thanks so much for the informative video and message!
Hey Jared, I appreciate that and glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, the second line needs to be a tad bit lower in order for there to be fall between the end caps. Thanks
Great job Sam. I been trying to get into the septic training up in Asheville. Just hasn’t worked out with my schedule. Not sure if I can get the work either. Tons of people around that do that sort of thing. Idk. Gonna try to get it in before the end of the year. Great video and explanations. Enjoyed that as well as the message as always. God Bless
Hey Brian, I put it off for a long time too. There seems to be several folks doing them in our area but the state inspector I talked to said there wasn’t enough people doing them. So, I thought I would give it a try. Pretty easy to get a license in TN. You just go take a written test and if you pass you pay your fee and get the license. The test was pretty hard though. Glad you enjoyed the video and the message…
From what I’m told I have to take a class for two days then a written test. Then you have to have another class to be able to design and install them every year you have to take so many hours of classes etc to keep your license. The class alone to start with is $600 plus room board for a night. I want to it’s just finding a class I can plan to get to. Also I had it pulled up to sign up and paused for a day or two and the next couple months got booked up that fast. It looks rather simple but I’m sure there are a lot of details and stipulations to remember
Hey Sam. Hope you and your family are doing well. Great message as always. How right you are about the challenges we face daily. Mine is the harder I work. The more challenges I face from the people I work with. They talk and spread lies to try to make my hard work look wrong. I only get through it by having faith in our God. I talked to my pastor about it the other day. He said Sation has your picture on the blackboard in hell. My first thought was, "Oh crap the pastor is saying going to hell. What am I doing wrong? I'm serving the Lord by working hard and serving others. He saw look on my face and said no what meant is he has your picture is on the blackboard" because he wants to break your faith with all the challenges . But He is saying how can we get this guy because it is not working. He still keeps his faith and still serves the lord and others. Even with all the challenges we throw at him. I was like, thank God you cleared that up for me. Because I was thinking what . Then we laughed together and said a prayer. But any way. You keep doing what you are doing, brother, and I will, too. Take care .
Good way to see the bottom of the hole and put more of it on grade with the machine, swivel the boom all the way to the left tracks parallel to the end of your tank hole 😀
Hey Patric it is an Infiltrator tank. I believe the same company makes the infiltrator chambers and the tanks. They only weigh 400lbs which makes it nice to set them yourself. I’ve only installed 2 systems so I’m learning more each time. Trimble was a great investment. Makes working alone much better. Ole Davin is a good feller and always good to work with him when we can get together…
Code here is 1/4 for solids minimum of 1/8 gray water. I hate doing septics but at least you have normal ones there . Ours are all going to IA systems which are a nightmare. Good job SAM
Thought your supposed to put a layer of 3/4” rock at the bottom of the hole and then put the tank in. At least I know we’re I’m at we have to do that but not sure we’re your at Sam? We also have to put 3/4” gravel under the chambers like you installed
Michael that is pretty interesting how they require the gravel. Every location has a different idea and way to do it for sure. No gravel required here… Thanks
Early this Sunday morning, we were still discussing "overcoming." 1John 5:15 "Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?" Trusting in the Lord and acknowledging Him in all our ways can guide us in overcoming life's obstacles. If we are to know who we are, we must know who God is. Those who are saved by the power of God will always show evidence of salvation by a changed life. Thank you for your message. For those of us unfamiliar with septic tank installation, we appreciate the instruction. May the Lord bless you, Sam, and keep you and your viewers safe. Mike&Pat
Well let’s see my Kentucky math says 4.5%. 28.5 inches is about 2.25%. 52 feet is about half of 100 so double and you have your slope. Your Tennessee math says 4.57% the way you explained it. Your math worked out for you. Enjoyed the message.
🔥🔥🔥I DON’T KNOW…you didn’t smoke at least two packs of cigarettes or eat a single Vienna sausage…not sure it’s a professional septic install without either of those performed 🤣
Hey Eric, that’s cool that you have a tilt rotator. I would love to have one. I’m probably going to get one of the tilt couplers. That way I will have hydraulic quick connect as well. Just have to figure out how to make it work with the grade control system… Thanks
To keep it from floating out. A heavy rain filling the hole full of water will float the tank out of the ground if it doesn’t have weight in it. Kinda like trying to hold a ball under water…
The only line that has solids is from the house down that short pipe into the tank. The state just requires a minimum amount of fall and there is no limit on maximum amount of fall.
You know I enjoy watching the video but was pleasantly surprised at the end. I’m a sinner that believes in Jesus and his word. I want to be an overcommer. Thanks for the message, most important part
Hey glad you enjoy the videos and especially the message. I’m a sinner too saved by the grace of the Lord through Christ. Amen to being an overcomer! God Bless
The state inspector required it for the road crossing there. They wanted protection against the possibility of crossing it. A bit of over kill in my opinion but you have to do it like they write up the permit…

Hey Jared, I appreciate that and glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, the second line needs to be a tad bit lower in order for there to be fall between the end caps.
Thanks
Thank you for being a Christian. God Bless You. Good job on plumbing job.
Thank you Doyle I appreciate the encouragement! 😀
God Bless
Be careful in thise holes buddy those ditches can collapse easy. Nice work bud.
Thanks Matt, I appreciate that! Definitely can be dangerous in loose soil conditions…
Hey Sam, good job !
In France there are also septic tanks, in general they are in the countryside, where there are no sewer networks for wastewater.
Thanks Nicolas. I am enjoying the septic systems and hoping to get a few more this year.
Wow! Sounds like they are pretty serious about it there…🤪🤣
Hope you get a chance to get it done…
Great job brother, you still the best ❤❤
Thank you Nyra! 😀
Take care .
Thanks Jaime!😀 Yup, we are definitely going to face challenges in this life. Just keep the faith!
God Bless
Good way to see the bottom of the hole and put more of it on grade with the machine, swivel the boom all the way to the left tracks parallel to the end of your tank hole 😀
Yup, that would work!😀
What brand of septic tank is that???
I really like the Trimble on the excavator.
Fun to see both of you guys together!
Thanks Steve, sounds like y’all have a tough time with them. We have it pretty easy here.
@@tristardiggin too many houses here on not enough land so the ground is getting over nitrated .
@DirtBrute Yup, looks like from your videos it is definitely a crowded place. Run for the hills! 🤪😀🤣
@@tristardiggin 😂🤣. If my boys would move I would be gone
I did not see any pipes with the styrofoam peanuts surrounding them. Is that code where your from?
We can use those but for this instal we used the arc chambers instead of…
Great vide0
Thanks James, I appreciate that! 😀
No gravel required here…
Thanks
Just nitpicking…but you could have set that tank a little shallower and saved some hard pipe and digging to the first field line. Good job!
Thank you Thomas I appreciate that!
Here in middle tn it is 5 feet off the house. 10 feet with field.lines
Interesting how different ares do different things…
Early this Sunday morning, we were still discussing "overcoming."
1John 5:15 "Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?" Trusting in the Lord and acknowledging Him in all our ways can guide us in overcoming life's obstacles. Mike&Pat
Thanks Mike&Pat! 😀
That was well said. I agree 100%, evidence of salvation is a changed life.
Glad y’all enjoyed the video and message…
God Bless
thats a huge tank for a shed house!
The system was designed for a future house going in at this location… The tiny house is temporary…
Thank you my brother in the Lord Jesus
Thanks, I appreciate that! 😀
Nice work 👍 Nice Message 👍✝️✝️✝️
Thank you Tom and glad you enjoyed the message.
God Bless
4.48 % brother . Thanks for sharing 👍 EDIT ( AHH ! You threw in that half inch after ) 4.57%
Good lookin job
Yup, I threw a wrench in there! 😀
Thanks, I appreciate it…
My math says you have 4.57% slope (2.62 degrees) --- 28.5" rise across 624" of run. (14:49 mark)
Yup, that is it! 😀
Well let’s see my Kentucky math says 4.5%. 28.5 inches is about 2.25%. 52 feet is about half of 100 so double and you have your slope. Your Tennessee math says 4.57% the way you explained it. Your math worked out for you. Enjoyed the message.
Yup, we got it! Looks like Kentucky and Tennessee can get it done. 🤪🤣
Thanks…
God bless and jesus is king
Yes He is!
God Bless
It must be different there. We can be 4 inches with a conventional gravel system and only 2 inches with the conventional substitute
Hey Douglas, you are right on that. I misspoke that part…
Thanks,
Sam
Is that a rental mini or you have both. Plus I think you have figured out how to setup a septic system 😊.
Thanks Charles, I’m starting to figure it out! I bought this mini probably a year or so ago. Great size for this kind of job…
Is rock expensive where you are? We only do rock and pipe and concrete tanks.
2” rock is $29 per ton plus tax and haul bill. The plastic tanks and plastic chambers are super easy…
@@tristardiggin yeah I know they are super easy. But I don’t like when they get paper stuck by the support on inlet side and back up the house.
@@micahwald8166 Gotcha, didn’t know that was happening…
Amen 🙏
Thanks Josh!😀
Why did you use the 6 inch pipe "sleeve"?
The state inspector required it on the permit.
That was one ugly hole cut bro 😆...
Good job on the install 💪👍
Yeah, no awards for that one!😀🤣🤣
Thanks
👍
Thanks Tim! 👍
I ain’t that fancy on the slope as long as I got fall
Hey Raymond, that is definitely the most important thing, to have some fall…
Thanks
🔥🔥🔥I DON’T KNOW…you didn’t smoke at least two packs of cigarettes or eat a single Vienna sausage…not sure it’s a professional septic install without either of those performed 🤣
Well, I guess I better go get me some camels and 12 pack of them there Viennas! 🤪
@@tristardiggin 😂😂😂
Another great video and message Sam. But where's Diesel?
Thanks Kevin! 😀
You will love being able to tilt I don't know what I would do without my tilt rotator now for having it a year I'll never go back to regular excavator
Hey Eric, that’s cool that you have a tilt rotator. I would love to have one. I’m probably going to get one of the tilt couplers. That way I will have hydraulic quick connect as well. Just have to figure out how to make it work with the grade control system…
Thanks
Put the blade on the back side ,you may be able to see inside hole better
Not really the blade blocking the view. It’s just the depth of the hole.
Thanks
Wondering why you fill the septic tank with water...
To keep it from floating out. A heavy rain filling the hole full of water will float the tank out of the ground if it doesn’t have weight in it. Kinda like trying to hold a ball under water…
2% slope for every 10 feet of pipe which equals out to 1/4" for every linear foot of line anymore than that and water will outrun the solids
The field line is not for solids. The tank holds the solids
The only line that has solids is from the house down that short pipe into the tank. The state just requires a minimum amount of fall and there is no limit on maximum amount of fall.
👍
I guess I misunderstood the question but yes your correct on just the line from house to tank
Why is the leach field so big for such a small tank
Not sure. The state draws up the plans based on the their requirements.
Thanks,
Sam
So you've got trimble earthworks gps setup but no quick hitch for the machine 😂
Yup, and I regret not adding it when I ordered the 304.
Well, did it pass inspection?
Yeah we got it passed and all covered up…😀
You know I enjoy watching the video but was pleasantly surprised at the end. I’m a sinner that believes in Jesus and his word. I want to be an overcommer. Thanks for the message, most important part
Hey glad you enjoy the videos and especially the message. I’m a sinner too saved by the grace of the Lord through Christ. Amen to being an overcomer!
God Bless
Hello Sir, where are you located?
I’m in SE Tennessee, near Chattanooga…
you didn't explain the 6 inch pipe over the 3 inch
The state inspector required it for the road crossing there. They wanted protection against the possibility of crossing it. A bit of over kill in my opinion but you have to do it like they write up the permit…
🙏
Thanks Brian!😀
I am why are you using a pic when you got an excavator? Enjoy the video as always.
It was easier and quicker than changing to a tooth bucket and then back to the big bucket to back fill.
Thanks
@@tristardiggin makes sense
I meant we need Diesel while you're working!
Kevin, poor ole Diesel hasn’t been on a job in a while and I do need to get him out there because he sure loves to go…
