The Z06 is the perfect combination of performance, style, and cost to own. Its an absolute monster of a car. I beat the hell out of a couple at the BG track, and the spring mountain track. IMHO I'd take a Z06 over an Eray any day. The ZR1 will be the king no doubt but they're going to be near impossible to get hands on and they're going to be out of reach to a lot of people who'd want on & be able to handle it. The exotic crowd will be in the mix with this one I'm sure. We've captured a portion of the import buyer already with the arrival of the C8 but the Z0 & Zr1 we've captured potential buyers that would otherwise keep moving along. Its going to take big $ to get one of these and it's going to take patience. 🙏🇺🇲💪🙏🇺🇲💪
I'll be avoiding the dealer software update because details aren't given. "My car" shouldn't be a spyware device nor allow remote control by others. My driving information is not their product to sell. I don't trust that GM is intending to respect my ownership rights more by this update. Anyone know how to disable the OnStar module without tearing half the car apart?
Active aero adds cost and complexity and not to mention warranty risk. I'm all for keeping things simple and one less item to go wrong if the car performs well without it.
The consumer is the most powerful factor in economics, don't buy them they will have no choice but to adjust,be like the banks don't pay more than something is worth, evenif you can afford it .
The Stingray price has increased about $10k over the last 5-years; The Stingray price increase equates to about a 14.5% Base Price increase; Inflation, over this same 5-year period is something greater than 36%; Stingrays were marked up, over MSRP, 5-years ago; and Stingrays can be custom ordered, today, below MSRP! Purchasing a new Stingray... now... is a SCREAMING DEAL! Don't tell me I'm wrong... tell me that Mathematics doesn't apply to this question/challenge!
I should be getting my 2025 3lt soon initially i was told by end of october within the last week i was told its in the last phase and it looks like itll be earlier than end of month!@cgarnerspeed252
Just got a 2024 that was 81k msrp for 65k out the door. Had 1300 miles and new car smell. I’ve been patiently waiting 4 years for a deal lol and It’s been an amazing month so far.
Solid update...thx bro.The update could be a security protocol since there's been a lot of C8's stolen lately. And yes in that price range you're absolutely right, it should have active aero especially with the weight.
This is no longer the working man's car. Many people that want a corvette cannot afford these prices. Eventually GM should come with a new Fiero to capture the budget sportscar market.
@@chrisadkins9351 I earn a good living. But unless you put a big down payment even a Stingray will cost more than a house note monthly. If you are cool with a car note that is almost 2k a month that is fine. But for me that is not affordable for the average working man.
When you print money and devalue the dollar. You get massive inflation with the dollar being devalued. Hence, corporations are forced to raise prices. Active aero in the rear should have been used. The tech is there in the car already in the computer to calculate the wing angle and height. The actuators and components are cheap. GM is being lazy. The 7k high wing could easily be repacked for cheaper by an active aero wing. But the profit margins on the high wing are probably way too high (profitable) to pass up.
They are cutting off their nose. despite their face. The regular buyers are older , just look at the attendance when they have events at the bowling green museum. For 300K I'd rather have a 911 turbo. Not nearly as many growing pain problems.😂
The latest prices are less than what I'd paid after all the dealer adds at peak demand. I see these price changes as GM getting more of what was actually paid, and now stingrays are available at discounts. It makes sense that the mfg should get more value from their work than a dealer. Demand determines the price, and dealers had found first that there was strong demand for the C8.
Originally it was the right price BUT you couldn't get it for MSRP so you have to buy used. Now you can get good deals on low milage cars. However the warranty is an issue and GM needs to be better than it is for a expensive car like this. 3 years? Almost all used ones are over the warranty in years way before miles.
I don't think the ZR1 will be for the usual Corvette buyer. It will be sold to the very wealthy or race teams. It's base will be beyond the average buyers purchasing ability. Given that it won't matter how much over sticker it is sold for.
They are pricing it out as inflation goes up and pay doesn't increase, wonderful car but not worth goi n debt, Single men making 200k a year yeah but thats far in few. A family man could afford it back in the day but maintenance on it with mortgage hikes feeding the family . I would love to own one but can't afford it
Yeah I don’t understand why the 2025 base price is higher either. Unless GM are thinking people that want to just build their own corvette will pay whatever price
The wide-bodies are all over-priced and are antithetical to the concept of being a sports car that the average working person can afford. All wide-bodies are overpriced by 20k min.
That’s a fair point!!! But Chevy has figured out how to make this car I’m sure they could have figure out how to make it work with not so much extra cost
@@cgarnerspeed252 when the c8 came out, I thought that I had a chance to own one for a good price. I’ve got to step up my game if I want to get my hands on one…if you want to park yours at my house for a few months. I would keep her cleaned and gassed up. That’s my best option at this point😂😂😂

Hmm there would be a few differences between 2020 and 2025 like the soft close front trunk, every car has rear cameras but not much else that warrants an extra 10k. GM is banking on people wanting to build their own cars and not pick up dealership pre spec cars
