BS! There's ABSOLUTELY NO WAY POSSIBLE for this to Happen, and it Doesn't even Make Any Sense! Firstly, it goes against the Structure of the Car, with that Central Tunnel! Secondly, The Zora is supposed to have the Powertrain of the ZR-1 but with the Hybrid system added like on the E-Ray, so there's NO WAY they Can put a Stick there! Thirdly, the Zora is basically going to be the HYPERCAR version of the C8 lineup, so there's NO WAY they'll put a Stick-Shift Manual in their Highest Level Car, which is Made for Hyper Performance: Quickest Acceleration, & Highest Top Speed!
Yeah this is a BS clickbait title. This isn't even a rumor. It's a guy who swears he saw something from anther guy holding a pamphlet that he got from another guy.
Even if it was possible to put it there, it wouldn’t work as the console is too high up for a manual to be used comfortably. That would be a huge fail. They’d have to redesign the center and lower it.
The ZR1 is very literally already a Hypercar... With over 1000hp, and over 230mph top speed (well over if you're observant enough to realize the car was at redline in 6th), it most certainly qualifies by the performance metric.
@@puterg0d .... You can Definitely make that argument, but the ZORA will push the envelope even further with Acceleration and Top Speed, and will compete closer to the Hypercar Class alongside Bugatti, Köenigsegg, Pagani, et al (in terms of Performance Numbers).
Interesting rumor, but have to agree with you that the engineering cost for a manual Zora would be huge and GM does not waste money on a limited production item (maybe 100 Zoras total). Additionally, can you hear the die-hard manual fans screaming about no manual in their C8s, especially the Z06! The only thing that makes sense is for GM to offer a manual in ALL C8s or none at all.
The interior of the C8 ZR1 production spec car has already been filmed, and there is no manual shift lever to be seen. Changing drivetrain layout at the last moment for the ZORA for ONE car is possible but not likely. Both ZR1 and ZORA were developed SIDE BY SIDE according to SPY shots during testing. I would put money on the ZORA is a done deal going into production later for the specs, and a manual is was not in the cards for this series EVER.
There might be a tiny chance that it can have an electric stick with an AMT(would be slower than DCT anyway), but the car's physical design makes it so that a pure manual would not be possible
The hybrid batteries fill the tunnel, how can the shifter be in there. Or is this a electronic shift controlled by a shifter that does not have actual mechanical attachment to the trans.
This is not going to happen. The central driveline tunnel isn't set up for this design. Plus, you'd need a massively strong clutch to handle all that power, which would more weight to the car.
there is no way that anyone is going to pay the kind of money the Zora should command if the HP is only 160 more than the ZR1. they are going to beef that up. BTW i took the Z06 over the Eray. just couldn't skip the engine.
2 chances of it have 3 pedals, Slim and NONE. Quite frankly, I am so tired of the speculation around these car. I almost didn’t click on video, and if this type of speculation continues, I won’t click ever again. He said she said ain’t working!!!
Neat for you to mention - I will now do a video mentioning it as I have been sitting on intel for 2 years 👊👊👊 I too have heard 1300 + HP Talk soon buddy
The Zora has no room for a shifter. The tunnel is filled with the battery pack from the e-ray. Last time I checked there weren't any Bluetooth manual shifters 😅😂
I have a hard time thinking the bean counters would allow R/D to happen on a small volume production Vette; And If so the MSRP would probably be more like 250k.
Tbh I highly doubt a manual transmission for the zora, probably a special edition z06 more like it, but the zora has been rumors to be in that 1300+hp range is definitely a possibility due to the battery capability they can definitely push out more power.
I agree it does not make sense! If you can do 0 to 60 in 2.5 secs with the DCT. There is no way in hell you would do the same with a manual. The DCT is the perfect trans for the C8! Just saying!
I’m a big fan of manual. The reality is that we all know that no human can shift as effectively or cleanly as a computer. That aside. A manual transmission is about oneness with the vehicle. I like my C8. I would love it if I was experiencing a feeling of greater control. A 500 hp C8 would be just fine with manual.
Manual all the way! Also, delete as much electronic window dressing and lip stick as possible. Keep the A/C though.. Just deliver an option for the car with a drive train, analog gauges, and a manual. Now drive it like you stole it.
I was thinking maybe the manual will be the Grand Sport instead of the Zora. Having a manual dor the Grand Sport would make more sense. That's my opinion. General Lee Out!
I seriously doubt it will happen. Also, unless there is way more power from the ICE, the top speed will be lower than the ZR1 because the electric motors won't work at that speed and it will have significantly more weight than ZR1. I want a manual transmission for the ZR1!
Their is a company working on putting a manual in the c8 .. I'm waiting for this bought a 2024 & dumped it in 3 months so boring ... bought a porsche & would never look back ( until I can get a c8 .manual
My buddy has a Hellcat Challenger wirh a manual. He has replaced the stocker with a built 426/Maggie combo pushing 1400hp. Scary fast car and quite possible with all the nannies in the C8. I would click that box because my name is not Jerry, nor am I a race car driver.
I would like to point at that in the official GM video on the top speed run for the ZR1, when they hit 233mph, the car was still climbing, and was at redline. Which means the car was NOT "drag limited" at 233mph. Was it RPM limited? Nope... That run was in 6th gear. What does this mean? 233mph is NOT the true "top speed" of the C8 ZR1. It will go faster. How much faster is anyone's guess, but most likely at whatever point the car is drag limited - in 7th or possibly even 8th gear. It has 77 more hp, one more gear, and, while we don't know the ZR1 DC, the base C8 is 0.32, which is 0.02 better than the original Bugatti Veyron; and that car did 254mph. The C8 also weighs a whole lot less, though weight isn't much of a factor for top speed. Therefore, using deductive reasoning, the C8 ZR1 should easily match, if not exceed, that number.
Koenigsegg makes one, but it is an e-manual. Feels and drives like a stick, but ain't. A manual would be hard to make work with linkage. I do believeit will have more electric power as I think the e-ray motors aren't enough to differentiate it from the ZR1.
can't be linkage, engine is in the way, has to be by wire or electronic so why bother then, and I worked for GM 30 years no engineer is going to show the public their secrets before the launch
The manual doesn’t make sense. There is no high horsepower cars with manuals for good reason. Even Porsche doesn’t put their manual in their most powerful car. Imagine spending whatever it costs for a 1300 hp car then you’re the slower car out of the other cars because no man can shift faster than a DCT. It would make more sense to put a manual in the Z06 or the stingray. And none of the others . Of ALL the supercars out there the best drag car is the corvette. Then you buy the slower car because of the manual. Race cars don’t have manuals, they have sequential trannies
I don’t think the big 3 is gonna make…. Not a lot of people can by vettes and Escalades… their lineup is trash now besides the 80k suburban, Escalade and Vette

Brother, this didn't happen. No engineer is just going to "open" the door and show people the inside. Please think a little.
Here in Detroit we see a lot of things you don’t see. I get a lot of information from my engineer friends
No room for a clutch. GM execs already said that long ago. Click bait, whether intentionally done or not.
$2.49 for premium? What the actual hell? I haven’t seen that for regular in 4 years.
I know, Texas. But still.
It’s $3.33 here for regular.
It's not even April yet !!! WTH BOS ???? - Biggest reason I still have my C7 Z' Manual 7-speed - period

A manual Z06 makes more sense
100% BS!! !
What?
I will believe it when Rick Conti says it
Not unless he puts in his gold tooth.
No way, no how. The C8 platform was designed & engineered to NOT have a manual transmission.
The interior of the C8 ZR1 production spec car has already been filmed, and there is no manual shift lever to be seen. Man you need a mirror tap for that radar detector, that hanging cord is giving me anxiety :)
lol, it doesn’t even give me anxiety. I’m just used to it 😊
Don’t visit my C8, then.
3 months ago i was shopping. the choice was a new c8 z51 or c7 z06 manual with 12k miles. i choose the c7 z06 manual.
I'm with you ❤❤❤
Poor decision.
@@rockychessie absolute best decision
My guy said it’s going to be a 12 cylinder twin turbo full electric with 4000 horsepower 😂😂😂😂😂
lol, wow, we are really in for a hypercar with that build 😜
In your dreams.....
I don't know. It seems kinda weird and amateur to give a car awd and well over 1000hp and just stick an old school manual gearbox in it.
I got a 6 speed v6 honda accord love every second driving it wouldn't have bought it if automatic the power band on sport cars need the manual
No! That would be too much horsepower/torque to be shifting gears and steering. Just my opinion!
John belk what’s up stranger
there is no way that anyone is going to pay the kind of money the Zora should command if the HP is only 160 more than the ZR1. they are going to beef that up. BTW i took the Z06 over the Eray.

Zoro will have LT7 engine, we know that.
More than likely, same front drive as Eray.
Tadge has said no manual for the C8 platform.
Zoro road a horse didn’t engineer cars 👊🙃😉😉😉 Zora (typo) I am sure
I would rather a track focused Grand Sport come out with the 6 speed manual.
Neat for you to mention - I will now do a video mentioning it as I have been sitting on intel for 2 years 👊👊👊
I too have heard 1300 + HP
Talk soon buddy
Have you seen the comments. Most people think this is crazy talk. 😊👍
2.499$ 93 is the thing I care
im waiting for them to come up with a 13 speed so you can split the top 4 gears like a fuller roadranger.
The Zora has no room for a shifter. The tunnel is filled with the battery pack from the e-ray. Last time I checked there weren't any Bluetooth manual shifters 😅😂
If the C8 had a manual it would be in my garage.
Yeah right.
@@rockychessie and what the fuck does that mean?
Great because a couple years later the manual transmission will trickle down to the lower models eventually
Maybe part of a refresh to the c8?

I would love to see a MANUAL TRANSMISSION because I have a GS manual transmission and that is the only reason for buying my C7 manual
i can only imagine what they will do with the C9's when the time comes
$2.49 for premium? Nice.
I prefer the z06 engine with boosted 300 hp ERay front electric motor.

It definitely makes the most sense for sure. Thanks for your input sir 😊
Except that in the C8, the E-Ray occupies the Space where the Grand Sport would go.... There will Not be any C8 GS!
WAY too many engineering changes....dont think it wil ever happen in a C8. JMO!

I think the engineer said it’s not possible

I wish the c8 zr1 would come in a manual. I would buy it asap. If no it’s a c7 zr1 in manual for me then

Many motorcycles now have clucthless shifting rivaling the DCT performance. Just use the clutch at a stop or just for fun.
A couple not many. Scooters have it but the vast numbers of motorcycles use a manual because of the weight savings.
Ridiculous to have that much HP in a manual trans and not be all wheel drive

I'd bought a C8 ....but passed for no manual... Still....
Without much horsepower, you gonna really have to know how to shift that manual
I'll believe it when I see it. Waaaay too much horsepower for a manuel shit
Every new generation Corvette had higher automatics and lower standard trans. .
