ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS: 1. Chipset driver questions? If you do this method and are using a Ryzen system, it is wise to reinstall your chipset driver for the best performance from your CPU. If you are on an Intel system, there is no need. Go to this link, chipsets, and find your motherboard type: www.amd.com/en/support I recommend ALL users with a Ryzen CPU to install the chipset drivers after doing this process 2. Can't extract the files in safe mode? Never had the problem myself but it can happen. It's often to do with OneDrive i) Try opening the DDU app in non-safe mode first (but do not actually do the clean and restart). Hopefully that will kick start it for you once you reboot into safe mode ii) Put the DDU folder on a USB drive and run it from there, in safe mode iii) in non-safe mode, open command prompt as an administrator. Enter sfc/scannow and let it do its thing 3. Can't get out of safe mode? This should work: i) Press WindowsKey + R to open the run Window ii) Type CMD, then CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER at the same time to open cmd as admin iii) type in this EXACTLY as typed ensuring you use the curly brackets like I do: bcdedit /deletevalue {default} safeboot iv) Power down and hopefully when you start up again you'll be in normal mode 4. Black screen? This sometimes happens on really old hardware. It's usually because your Windows install is on UEFI and your GPU only works with CSM. There's not much you can do besides reinstall Windows with CSM, or to update the VBIOS of your graphics card if possible. I can't go into detail about how to do that here. The other possibilty here is faulty hardware 5. Driver install forces you to be online? This is incorrect. It means you have downloaded the wrong file. For AMD, there is a banner at the top of the driver downloads page saying "Auto-detect and install" or something similar. You do NOT want this. You need to go to your graphics card page on the AMD drivers website and download the ADRENALIN version (around 700MB) and NOT the auto-detect version (around 50MB) 6. Do I really need to disconnect from the internet for this? YES! Being offline means that Windows update can't auto install a driver before you put the proper one on, making the install much cleaner. You *can* run it online, but you won't be doing it properly that way AND A BIG THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR KIND WORDS!!!

Thank you for your guide sir, it was great and got me through upgrading from a GTX 1060 6GB to a RTX 4070 12gb. If anyone gets the black screen like I did, it could be for a number of reasons. 1. @@meangamers623 I have had no issues with 555.44. Anything later than that I had stutters and or my 99% would be super low. Like average is 240 in overwatch but 99% would be 35. I am staying on 555.44 for awhile.
@@justin176-h2k nice I'm using DDU right now what about 552.22 have you tried it ?
@@meangamers623sorry it’s 552.44
@@justin176-h2kDumb question but when you say 99% are you talking about 1% lows?
I had to get a bitlocker recovery code to enter safe mode. That was the only extra step I needed.
This is a terrific step by step vid. Thanks
Thank you man. There were these black squares that kept showing up on my screen and i think this has fixed the issue. Great video!
This one going to my watch later playlist, aint losing this video
I am having a gta v crash on startup problem then my friends told me to check out DDU now idk what to do after since they just told me to instal ddu I checked on yt on how to do it and yet this video explains it all.. straightforward and step by step thank u
I save this in one of my playlist and Still using this method after all this time. It just works. Thank you.
Live saver, i had problems with my gpu with my AMD 7800xt card. I just been updating and updating it..and it got to the point my games were stuttering with framde drops even with FSR is on. I just came across with multiple videos and it was confusing but you helped me alot, easy and straight to the point thank you!!
Turning off the internet during the process was the key to solving my issue!! Thank you endlessly!
Thank you so much. I was worried I fried my GPU, but this fixed all the issues I was having. Beyond grateful
What issues did you have?
I can whple heartidly say i was terrified to do this but you made it alot simpler so thank you truly
This helped a bunch. My Vega 64 finally kicked the bucket. Thank you very much.
Unfortunately doing a clean reinstall of my graphics drivers didn’t fix the issues I was having; but this tutorial was 100% safe and easy to do regardless!! Thanks mate 💖💖💖
what issue are u having?
Thank you so much. I tried everything after getting error messages in two Sony pc games claiming I had outdated drivers. I thought it was a glitch and after I did this I didn’t get the message again! I think when I switched my mobo out in march it blocked access to any new updates even though it claimed I was using them. I was stuck with the driver from a week before my upgrade. Very happy it’s fixed.
You saved me you absolute stud. I had 2 conflicting software versions and couldnt seem to shake the old one off
I thought my graphics card was gone but thank you for making this video, this really saved me!
Omg thank u so much 🙏I was getting frame drops and stutters like crazy on fortnite running at a 60 fps at one point and 80 fps on cod .. now that I did this I’m running at 200 + fps thank u sm !!
Also another way if you’re getting low fps and stutters it could be that ur pc has a virus but what also worked for me was resetting my pc .. ik it takes awhile to download all ur stuff back but i started to run at 200+ fps once I reset my pc
You need more recognition man. Thank you.
I just done my very first upgrade to my PC for my new GPU, thank you so much for this video for uninstalling Nvidia’s drivers etc!
Legend man. Literally been having this weird issue where i can display 2560 x 1440 at 144hz on hdmi but not on my DP cable. Ive tried everything, even updated my bios😂 this was my last resort and its finally sorted it out and am back at 2560 x 1440 at 144hz on DP. New Subscriber here. Thanks alot👏
Without a doubt the best video out there. Always come back to it for a refresher
Use this video everytime I need to update my drivers, best video out there!
I’ll use this if I need to. Was a bit upset that MSI told me this step and then said I had to pay a monthly subscription just to use something to help with my laptop. I’ll consider this if all else fails or factory reset doesn’t work. Thanks!
Thank you for your guide sir, it was great and got me through upgrading from a GTX 1060 6GB to a RTX 4070 12gb.
If anyone gets the black screen like I did, it could be for a number of reasons.
1. Check your HDMI, try both HDMI to HDMI or DP to HDMI. One may fix it.
2. Your power bank may come with more than one set of power cords that plug into your GPU, (inside the tower, not outside) if one set of power cords doesn't work, try the other set.
Hope this helps!
Just saved my ass too homie
Awesome video. I'd some fps drops playing a game and as a result I didn't notice the old NVIDIA drivers of my old GPU which it had some troubles with the directx of the game. This procedure works for me in 2024, thanks mate!
Lol, i was expecting at least round about 50.000 Subs. Nice Voice, nice presentation, very professional. Keep up the good work!
Love it, thank you :)
Thank you bro , the delivery agent is on its way with my Rx 6700 xt :D Am so excited
thanks for that guide, good explained and easy to follow. 👍
initially I was looking for a solution to my weird freezes followed by a complete reload of all textures in World of Warcraft.
Would have never thought that something as simple as a clean reinstall of my graphics card drive eliminates that. I'm honestly surprised how crisp clear everything in general looks now, must've been something off for a while now.
I fixed my friend's gpu problem thanks to your video, thank you !
What was the problem? Stuttering or black screen?
Very helpful tutorial. After I got a new nvidia gpu, I couldn't use Dlss3 for games. Using a clean install solved this problem.
bro my pc has been stuffing up for weeks and this fixed it, your great bro thank you.

This video made the upgrade so easy. Thank you very much!
Thank u thank u soooo much!! My laptop kept changing to integrated graphics midgame cuz of my corrupted drivers. Full clean re-installation did the trick. Thank youuuuuu ❤❤❤
100% the single most useful video on this subject. Thank you so very much for this video!
Very clear and precise. Excellent video. How all help videos should be. Many thanks.
Been having issues with the GeForce Experience app for quite some time now and have been suggested DDU but many videos waffle on and talk about going into the bios which in my opinion makes no sense; this video was straight to the point and I've shared it amongst the many discord servers that I'm apart of to spread the word. Hoping this solves my issue, I'll report back 😎
Keep up the awesome work
