I'm currently building one, it will have a one 470 4gb. But im really confused how much does it mine, because one site is sayin that it mines 3 bucks a day, and its just different on every site. Really hope it does mine around 2-3 bucks

Maybe check out the btc-s37 or btc-d37 mobos as a cheap base.
Had the same with my R9 390's, two same brand were over 15w apart and the XFX one was 36w more.
Running my own bios now in Hive as core and memory clocks don't adjust in Hive. They run PL3 for Eth between 28 and 30 M/hs at 100--116w. I've set more mV on PL4 for ERG as it requires more volts to stay stable but Hashes between 53 and 58 M/hs per card. Memory for both is 1125 Mhz, tighter timings as 390's are core bound with that bus.
PL7 is max clock under volt but less efficent, 31-33.4 M/hs @ 150-156w on Eth

where did you get the brackets for the graphics cards? would like to hang it up too, but haven't found anything like it yet
RVN is cool but everything just want to run hot with the constant fluctuations from the algo especially if any of the cards use blowers and not aib

The Oroblem is the the ETC value has risen to above $60 and with that the Difficulty will have risen too. Carefully i would try out 2 rtx 3070 cards for a week to see what the profit is. Certainly the new 16 GB rtx 3070 would be a better fit, especialky if it keeps on rising
Change the sata cable over to the other one which has molex to power the risers 👍

Great video. One thing... careful using power cables that didn't come with your power supply. Cables are not always interchangeable. Edit: I see you swapped out for SATA. guessing that power cable was not compatible.

Fried 2 SATA disks myselfe this spring. Hooked it up to pci-e output😅 bc I was used working with other cables and other psu

Does the mother board matter? I have a few older gaming box's that I have sitting around that I was about to trash but than I thought about setting up some mining stations just to make a little cash on the side (pay some bills with my current system pays my electric bill pretty much). Cause if I can use some of the older motherboards/CPU/RAM to run them off it would save me some bucks.
Nope will work. Just keep in mind your newer 3000 series cards won't work on the slower PCI slots.
@@TheHobbyistMiner thanks I have a bunch of old gaming cards sitting around and thought hay instead of trashing them put them to work. Not rich enough to go for the 3000's. Can't believe how expensive even the older cards have gotten.

Will Hive OS not boot off of a USB drive? I have been using RAVEOS with a USB drive with good success.

But you get better read/writes off ssd.

I had serious issues with USB booting with Hive OS. I used the Linux command “dd” to copy the OS to an M2 SSD from my USB.

Good job working through the mistakes! You were lucky your PSU protection circuit worked or there would have been some smoke and damage to your risers/GPU's! With the riser power you said there were Molex on the PSU cables. As the Ubits also have Molex I'd just use those instead of the SATA's. Problem solved!
Each sata connector is rated to carry 4.5amps, i.e. 54 watts. Any Gpu will take it's main power from the 6+2 vga lines not through the pcie lines...
The pcie line will provide up to 75watts for small cards which don't use/need a separate source of power...
I'm yet to see any sata connector overheating while powering a riser... not even getting warm. Bear in mine 40°C is acceptable all day long on a a sound connection
@@giubaca Yes, in a lot of applications 54watts is enough. However there is considerable variation in the design & quality control standards of different manufacture's hardware. There is also power loss in the riser with the 2 different voltage conversions. I feel it is good practice to allow for the maximum current that the card may pull without whatever power saving measures we have set in software. Many people have burnt sata connectors mining coins like RVN that fully utilize the gpu and draw the most power. When it burns you also run the risk of damage to what's connected to it. I just like to be safe and have a margin of over design to keep things trouble free.

Maybe look at a usb hashrate watchdog.. $5 from ali... reboots your rig if it crashes.

It all depends what you buy with the 10000. These you can barely buy x4 3080 and they generate $28 per day. So you need a full year of mining 24/7 to breakeven

@@todgerx yeah at these current prices. I I have a 3080 rig around 590mhs on average but I bought my GPUs at 700$ a piece. I already paid it out. Generates today $40 a day. But for $2500 a piece, hell no I won’t do it

There is some, but at 500eacj its to out of my range for now.. I'm in sick leave form work for another few months, so wanna get started on a budget and learn all that I can, for when I go back to work and start saving for better cards.. But here in Ireland the rates are like 19cent per klw per hr.. That's like the cheepest energy provider I can get.. So. Obviously not as much profit.. But dude, if I can even get a rig that's making me 70-100euro a month profit afzer esb.. Id be very happy with that sure more wud be nice.. But 900euro a Yr passive income is not to be sniffed at if u work a min wage job.. That 900e is my holidays paid for with my son each Yr.. So im definitely going for that.. I'm not greedy lol

I picked up 2 5700xt's. 1 for 500 and the other for 600.
I've also managed to build a ~650MH ETH rig consisting of mostly 30 series cards for under 10k. I started building this February. The deals are out there if you want them bad enough. If you can't find GPUs at good prices you either aren't trying hard enough or you have no bargaining skills.
