    Check and recheck the float! Thank you! Thankfully I didn’t have to replace the valve. After seeing so many comments about something under float, I rechecked and found just a tiny piece of plastic that had broken off the old upper rack assembly I had just replaced. That small piece seemed to be the problem. Thanks again!

    Oh, man, my Kitchenaid dishwasher has been acting up for a day or two. The unit was not filling with water. In this video, the second thing you checked was the float under the utensil rack. When I checked mine, I found a large hard plastic straw holding the float open. I removed it, reset the unit and chose the run cycle and voila! It filled with water and works! You just saved me $1000! God bless you!

    With mine, After talking to my youngest ( the Geek guy) I listened and thought I heard the click on valve, so I assumed it was trying.. As a "try", I shut water off and undid the water inlet feed then I used the bristle end of a battery terminal cleaner- gently scrubbing inside the valve.
    Son said Newer dishwashers have a check valve in the drain valve that sends a signal allowing the fill valve to engage. Mine does not have that feature but He did have me run 3 coffee jugs of vvery hot water and forcing the drain cycle each time. This he said would clean out any grease ect that could be impeding operation.
    Put it back together and Mine ran like new and had much better sound during drain cycle. I cleaned the screen filter while I had it off checking for debris in pump sump area also..
    I have run 4 cycles.:)))

    Hello. I'm having the no water issue. May I know what does it mean if there's no there is no water in the cup for that "cup test"?

    • @ScottTheFixItGuyChannel
      @ScottTheFixItGuyChannel  7 месяцев назад +1

      It can mean either that the fill valve is no longer letting in enough water to wash the dishes or it could mean that the circulation pump is either partially clogged with debris or is worn out and doesn’t push the water hard enough through the spray arms to fill up the glass during the test.
      The most common problem I’ve seen is that the fill valve is worn out and no longer let in enough water during the fill cycle.

    Great video! Quick question: if I feel water on both the stainless steel hose and the black hose connected to each side of the inlet valve, is it still possible that the valve is the issue as to why I barely see any water in the dishwasher after testing with a rinse cycle?
