Love this video. Honest. Not an upgrade if you rocking a 13 or 14 was all I needed to hear.
Love how you address iphone 11 users and under right off the bat because the iPhone really hasn't changed at all since the 11. At this points its an upgrade every 3 years or so kind of thing or even longer as new changes become more and more scarce beyond the chip.

Why does the 14 camera look better here? Interesting. I'm upgrading from an X lol I used to be a die hard upgrade often iPhone person but as I've gotten older I don't care like I used to.

Apple will definitely bring high refresh rate to the regular iPhone in no more than 3 years, 90hz or even 120hz, calling it something like "Dynamic Display". They will do it, I am 100% confident.

I'm thinking something like "motion-plus" with a 90hz refresh rate, or maybe 120hz but not an ltpo display so it's locked at 120

60hz is high refresh rate. Most games run 60fps. When you taking pictures or video by real camera in 60fps is smooth right?

Great review. I'm an Android user, but my daughter has an iPhone 11 I wanted to upgrade for her birthday. Between your video here and the fact that my daughter drops her phone a lot- I decided to go with the iPhone 14- apparently that does better in the drop tests vs the iPhone 15. Thanks again!

@MatthewMoniz Thanks for one of the first realistic reviews. So many of these channels focus on micro details that are beyond the consdierations of everyday users. Majority of users will have older versions of the Iphone and want to know if this generation will feel like a welcomed upgrade against there old one. I have been using the Iphone12 and considering getting a new one and this video answered all the important questions! Cheers

Some people don't want a larger phone. The iPhone 15 is already bulky enough in my pants pocket; the Plus model would aggravate the situation. And I don't have large hands.
As a long-time OnePlus One user, I've never had an issue with 60Hz refresh. I'm missing nothing by going with the iPhone 15.

You can connect devices to the regular iPhone 15. As today, I’ve connect a NVMe drive, external monitor and external speakers.

@@abhishekjb1273Sorry to jump in, but to let you know, we need to do some settings in order to get a decent battery back up out of 14.
1) Disable background app refresh for unnecessary apps
2) Disable location settings manually for each option inside location settings
3) Disable raise to wakeup as it uses a sensor which takes up a lot of battery. We can tap and turn on the display light
4) Disable auto-brightness
5) Disable unnecessary notifications
I did these changes on my iPhone 14 and could see a massive difference. Hope this helps

I decided to get 14 over 15 just bc of the color since I really liked starlight and the dinamic island also looks more distracting then the notch, and now im glad to also learn there is not much difference when it comes to the camera so I’m happy with my choice 😊

I am currently with an iPhone 7+, I now have enough money for both phones and I am quite disappointed with the new 15. The new Dynamic Island is spectacular but what really annoyed me was the pastel colours and not even an option for white. I reckon the 14 because of the colour, Cheaper and same display, And has an amazing camera.
I totally feel you, I wanna transition from the iPhone 8 now to a newer model and I would like to have a white one again. I don't wanna go with the Pro version and I don't like the pastel colors or black. But I would also like to have the best camera - I think the 14 might be a good compromise, yet it would still be a compromise. Maybe I should wait for the 16 haha
The last iPhone I had was the x then went to android for years and last week got the iPhone 14 I like it and with att installment plan it’s $6.00 dollars a month

@@FATHOLLYWOODB123 yeah thanks but I have no problem with the battery life on my 13 mini hi don’t I don’t watch videos all day or I’m not doing social media all day or that kind of thing I use it as a phone and so you know texting phone calls returning emails and podcast music Google for Maps. I don’t use it like a mini media device and so when I get home, I just use my iPad so I never have a problem with my battery on my 13 mini anyway all the best.

It feels like yesterday the iPhone 11 was introduced
Still rocking the IPhone 12 Pro Max. Thing has been so durable until recently it finally gave in I dropped it off my fridge about 7 feet and the entire back got cracked. The screen is still good tho. The battery on this thing is still going strong. Hopefully I can wait a full year till a high refresh screen comes out.
Bro I have a 12 and the same thing happened, kind of. I’ve had it for a while now and the strength of the 12 is pretty fire. Just recently broke after probably dropping it 100+times

the a15 chip had alot of stuttering issues for me especially scrolling in the instagram explore tab. the a16 chip in the iphone 15 i bought fixed those stuttering issues thank god. theres no more random stutter changing a song on apple music or switching apps

Im wanting to go from android to apple this time around, and its a fairly hard decision. The 15 is practically identical to the 14 in that daily driver sense, but the ucb c is a factor which is hard to come over. As I only have USB c cables. This is 100% taking a lot more thinking that what is should be.

exactly what i was thinking. the common motivation for an upgrade seems to be the battery anyway? why sell your kidneys for a brand new phone when you can just target the main issue and replace it
I just got the iPhone 15 blue on the 4 days ago , and I love it so much. And it’s looks good so far, the battery last longer and camera is good so far.

@@CarbonRick_ iPhone 15 normal version. There's things I love and don't love. I do not love it more than Android but I don't regret my purchase. The phone doesn't charge in 30 minutes like my Samsung could, there's a lot of features missing but that's okay I'm not using it that much anyway. But for hardware, camera and health apps it works much better. You give some you take some. I do not think I will be using my iPhone in 2 years because Android is simply much better, but it's nice to try something else for once.

I have the 12 mini and the battery is kinda crapping out now but I don't want a large phone. Hope Apple releases a smaller phone in the size of an a full screen SE or something, even if it just has one camera module in the back
Also using the 12 mini. I agree, the battery is now not as good and I really think the mini iPhone is the perfect size for the next SE. But I’m gonna get the 15 because I like the colour of the blue.

I upgraded to a 15 from a mini and the difference is large! Much better battery life y and speakers and a nice larger size!
My last Iphone was the 3G, after that became an Android user experimenting with different brands such as Motorola, HTC and Asus and now back to Iphone 14....So far not to thrilled with IOS but have to say it was a long time using Android so I need more time. Apple is best at marketing cause every teenager out there want one, as far as the phones performance goes other brands can do the same or even more at better prices.
Though I'm not an ios user, I still enjoyed this review, its good that you reiterate people to keep their old devices instead of buying new bcz of the hype...its better for the environment and people's wallets.

I thought that i phone 15 was supposed to be revolutionary and a big overall change to me. There’s hardly any difference between the 14 and the 15.

Chances are i’ll switch my iPhone 11 for next year’s iPhone SE, bcoz I really don’t care about the super-wide lens and, if i’m not having high refresh, might as well pay a fairer price.

listen bro i was about to do the same thing, but recent news has come out that apple has cancelled the SE 2024 and will be pushing its release back to 2025. and my 12 mini has a broken lightning port, broken face id, and terrible battery life, so waiting for March 2025 simply isn't an option. I was gonna get the 13 for $629 unlocked but i might just spend the extra $100 on the 14 for the better ram, i feel like that will future proof it well.

I'm rocking an iPhone 8 and since then, I've been hesitant in upgrading. In 2 years the price drops to 50% and battery life will be completely annoying. What's the point in investing so much in this gadget so very often!?

Soo I upgraded from a 7 plus to a 14 and I'm a bit scared about the battery life, honestly I had a limited budget and didn't want to spend more than 890 dollars on a phone (because that's the price aproximatively in my country of an iph 14) , and I didn't like the colors and the silent button on the 15 and same with the usb c because I already have lightning cables. Now I'm contemplating a bit about keeping it or not, I will see these days how the battery perform

I upgraded from the iPhone XR to the IPhone 14 last month and it feels great. I normally upgrade every 3-4 years just because apple takes a while to make new differences and updates.

It looks as if iphone 15 pro models are also fixed the refresh rate at 80hz which is not expected, so I think out of all new iPhone 15 lineup 15 plus is the best option, it doesn't have that much overheating and since A16 is already optimized why would we get ourselves into trouble with A17 pro which is not really optimized for now
I've a OnePlus 8t and here in India the difference is around 120 usd, should I buy the 15 or save some money and go for the 14?
As far as the iPhone 15 overheating issue, any software fix to overcome a Hardware issue is a sham. You’ll be neutering the iPhone by reducing the efficiency of the cpu and battery your reasons for buying it in the first place.
Still have my iPhone X it’s been doing some funky stuff so trying to decide what model to get. The love the colors of the 14, but the features of the 15 almost make the price difference worth it. I mean I plan to have it another 5+ years so hmmm. Appreciate your honest review

the dynamic island would be less annoying if it was in the same position as the notch and right at the edge of the screen because it cuts off what you're viewing but then has the rest above it
yeah this is why im getting the 14 instead of the 15. I'm coming from a 12 mini so the notch size of the 14 will be more than enough to satisfy me. The dynamic island just feels like a placeholder for apple to implement a new biometric. It has cool animations but as an adult, its not worth spending an extra $100 plus tax out of my pocket for a little gimmick.
I hate both the notch and Island. Why don't they give a punch hole like samsung?
@@RandomGuy..192 can’t tell a pixel, oppo, or Samsung phone apart from the front anymore, they all have hole punch. At least Apple is going against the grain and doing something different. Even integrating some apps into it.

The iPhone 15 was cheaper to upgrade to than any of the 14 models. So, I went for it. Haven’t regretted it. Great battery life and it feels very smooth. Don’t care for higher refresh rates and the camera upgrade, coming from an iPhone 12, is nice

For the camera bump, iPhone 14 and 15 have a slightly bigger camera bump compared to the iPhone 13, except for the camera the iPhone 14 case will fit the 13, I’ll check out with the 15.

Matthew you can connect devices to it. I've connected a USB Type C pen drive with 256GB and transfer files to and from my iPhone 15. In addition to this my USB type C to 3.5mm headphone adapter also works.

Get the 14. But if you want the 15 wait till they release the 16 and for prices of the 15 to drop
if you haven't gotten one yet, I suggest the 14, I got mine for £471 (128gb) and saved £145 from 15.

My iPhone 11 just started to die real hard. I've had it since 2020 and it is fully paid off. Pretty happy to not have to pay a monthly payment to own my phone, this week I'm going to buy a new iPhone but I'm not sure what, so this was the PERFECT vid for me!
Wait a few weeks until iPhone 16 is released and you will probably get an iPhone 15 for $100 less as of now.
Considering the 15’s price, Apple left a lot of the cool stuff out. They did the same last year.
I mean to be fair the 14 also launched at $799 with even less improvements, but I can't justify spending $829 on a phone.

phones can become a lot better. But it's not the camera that matters.
The number 1 improvement they can do is Ai. that's probably the most difficult way to improve also (expensive).. BUT if a phone company wants the dominant position, and absolutely corner the market in the future.. they need to market their phone as the best Ai system.
Also, wouldn't sound quality for phone calls be more important too?

I'm quite surprised by the iPhone's low refresh rate. It's actually embarrassing that they haven't implemented a faster refresh rate, especially considering that Samsung and other Android phones have had 120Hz screens for quite some time now.

The 14 is a very good phone I don’t understand why people just can’t accept small tweaks and appreciate them the camera is better the battery is bigger it has more ram which definitely helps future proof it and it’s got crash and satellite features for all you saying iPhone 13 which is still a great phone but what good would that phone do if your in a emergency with no signal ? It’s a paperweight at least the 14 can help get you out of a jam

I haven't used the iPhone 14, and I'm switching from the iPhone 7. Therefore, I was only curious as to whether the iPhone 15 gets hot while performing typical daily duties (apart from gaming).
I am thinking of upgrading from my 11 Pro, I am still very undecided though

U r wrong on sound quality, 15 has more low end and sounds softer. 14 sounds slightly harsh or brighter compared to 15
