  • The first webinar in our series on the implications of ChatGPT in higher education discusses key questions such as:
Is it possible to detect the use of ChatGPT in assessments?
Is it right to punish students for using it or should we be trusting them?
Is banning ChatGPT as futile as banning Google?
Joining us on the panel are Dr Phil Anthony from the University of Kent, Dr Bronwyn Eager from the University of Tasmania, Dr Irene Glendinning from Coventry University Group, Michael Webb from Jisc, and Stella Maris from the University of St Andrews.

Interesting webinar, a bit heavily packed maybe. Looking forward to the "It's here, now what?"-type successors. Hopefully with more time for Q+A. (make them more than an hour long?)

    Interesting webinar. Very rich.
I think the rise of ChatGPT and other AI in higher education is a call for interactive learning to now be prioritised. Beyond what students write, what do they say? How do we manage class presentations going forward?
Instead of considering a ban (I doubt that it is possible to ban), a collaboration can be considered. AI assisted learning can be harnessed to better the educational system.
    Overall, beautiful presentations.
