I have a grand nephew who will inherit mine... about $400 in face value... $350 is silver face, plus gold and thousands of uncommon dates back to 1820. Lucky kid.
@@coinstruck6079 I figure as much. What am I going to do with them anyway. And my young nephew says he'd like to open a coin shop someday. This will help get him going.
Lucky kid indeed! Hope he has a good time going through it all. I had a blast going through it and very much appreciated my Uncle giving me the collection!
I had no idea anyone in my life was into coins, spread your love and you never know what will happen. Every family gathering now I bring a couple cool coins to show everyone now. Growing the hobby with enthusiasm.
Local coin shop is a great start, if they'll take a look at it without upfront cost. If not, send some pictures around to get started, to see if they're worth getting looked at closer.
Roosevelt is a Dutch name and is pronounced Rosevelt; the oo in Dutch is pronounced as an English single o. I stayed in a town called Oosterhout, in the Netherlands, for a week in 1979.
I think I end up pronouncing it both ways based on whatever slips out of my mouth, hah. I'll work on saying it only the correct way from now on. Appreciate the fun information!
I wish I had coin collecting relatives 😂
I didn't even know he had collected coins until a week ago. So I guess you just never know who would be interested until you talk to them about it.
