Hauerwas is a fresh and truthful voice for the church. I have listened and learned from him for 15 years and I am still amazed at his work. If it weren't for him I would not have remained Christian. He shows how the church is truly relevant! Thank God for Dr. Hauerwas.
@superstarkemarie Awww, he's just sayin' it with his Southern American accent. When I spent some time in Germany, I never could get that "oe" phonic right.
But he's pronouncing it the way essentially every speaker of American English does. Of course there's a gap between this pronunciation and the proper German pronunciation. But why single him out for doing what everyone else is doing, too?

That laugh just before 34mins is brilliant! Worth watching just for that :D
I was just thinking the same thing! I actually backed the video up to watch it again! Hahaha! A lot of joy in that laugh!
I've read him, I've worshiped with him, I've heard him lecture, and I still don't know what to make of him. :)

@summergiles mind telling us what?
Hauerwas is the Ron Swanson of the theological world. Ever the contrarian, with a laugh that is funnier than his jokes, lol
I do wish the person introducing the lecture had been a lie.
He has his taste of humour yah....😁😂
I know it's not the most important thing, but it drives me crazy that he's mispronouncing Bonhoeffer.
