Thanks for the good video. May I ask where can I get the schematic showed around 37mins? There is more info in like telling which part is mod meter and so on. Would be very nice to know what part is what like in that manual! Thx in advance (Working on mine at moment but not to much luck for now)
Yeah, I have been picking it off carefully, I found heating it up with my hot air station softens it easily making it much easier to get off, someone had already removed the glue from the voltage regulators on the MPU board.
TheDefpom Unfortunately what I have been seeing lately in these has turned dark brown and is hard as a rock. One of the last ones I did had corroded the wires off 3 of the coils. Hate having to rewind those.
HI my name is mark i have a hr 2510 tx is ok but no receive in all modes.I can trace my signal am to d111 and 112 but not at q109 i change ic 101 but still no signal at 109 there is one thing at ic 101 agc pin 8 and 10 have 6.8 voltes at all times squelch on or off no change.the signal meter indicate a signal. problems found q103 d117 d111 was open i replace them all voltages in the transistors in the receive chain read ok change the two 47uf capacitors any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you very much Mark
Great video Defpom. I have a question though. Not sure if you still work on these, but I recently inherited one of these old rigs when my father, N1CSS passed away and I'm trying to fix it up. It hasn't been used in a very long time, and I'm not sure what was wrong with it when he put it away. But anyway, I can't get very far with testing, because the power is a dead short! I removed the glue and even REPLACED both regulators, and no love - still shorts out. Any suggestions?
I've got an issue with my Lincoln. Today the AM and FM TX has died, but SSB is ok. The radio receives on all modes. Are you able to advise which areas on the PCB I should be checking out? I suspect a component has failed. I;ve had the radio for years and this is the first time it's had a fault. Many thanks! JC
can you do a video on aligning the freq, I have a hr . love the old radio . had it for years. and the shown display is off from the freq. is there a simple fix with just a pod ?
I'm in the states. I need to replace the memory super capacitor on an HR2600 and I have had no luck finding which one it is. Would you be willing to let that information out into the wild?
Randy Behrmann - I don’t remember exactly where it is in the 2600, but look for a very low voltage (I think it was about 2.7v, but will certainly be less than 6v) and very high value cap, on the MPU board close to the big MPU ic. I’m not near a diagram at the moment so cannot tell you the exact values.
Hi there, don`t know if you can help me but i have a Mk.1 President Lincoln that i bought cheap off Ebay. It was stored for many years not being used so when i got to fire it up all seemed OK, its got RF power "about 17w" am-fm. BUT NO modulation !!!! Done the DE-glue and now have about 21w but still no modulation...checked the standard mike and that seems fine, any ideas ??? Thanks Chris
30ok777- it is probably a bad electrolytic cap in the audio circuit, lower your rf power down to 10w am, you really don’t want to blow the final as they are not made anymore.
Ok. Can anyone else link me to anyone who deals with the chipswitch and or priority board? I have the opto couplers, Just need to know where to connect it.
nice job on the fix, that was a good bit of detective work :)

Worst problem I find with these is all the corrosive glue in the final section. Last two I did had dead shorts the glue was so conductive.

I have several original service manuals. If you want better scans of the board layout let me know.
Yes, high quality scans of the diagrams would be nice, especially of the board layouts.

GREAT Job. Love the troubleshooting process :)
Great stuff

Hi, my HR2510 doesn't retain the last frequency after switch off, no battery present, how can I fix it? THANKS

Ware did you get the desolder gun, please let me know.
I have done reviews on a few different ones, the best by far was the Pros Kit which is now my main unit.
@@TheDefpom THANK YOU AN MERRY LITTLE TO YOU AN YOUR FAMILY.
sometimes a recap fixes everything :-)
that output power you showed. thats suspect, someone has been in that radio turning things that shouldn't
Yep, otherwise it seems OK really, I dropped the power to 7W AM/FM to reduce the chance of blowing the hard to find final transistor !

Could you show the other half of the board layout

Little blue ceramic cap right next to the cpu

Hi would it be possible to email me the trace side parts layout diagram? Thank You
Can anyone show me the schematic for installing the priority board?
Sorry I don’t have it

Look mate 43 division and I'm back out
