Man, you were mentioning they started with 1.4 in Polo GTi, when they actually started in the 80s with Polo G40 which was a 1.3 Supercharged, and then a 1.6 in the 6N: the first Polo with a GTi badge.
You should try launching this gti in sport traction mode. Hold the traction button until the display says sport traction. A lot less wheelspin on the start up💪🏼

@@CiroDiMaRzio12304 I did the stage 1 including stage 2 for the DSG. Power increasing to 275 HP and torque 491 NM. Important is the the change of the power band. Standard it wil degreases after 4.500 rpm. With remap the power band goes to 6.000 rpm.
@@DrPepp 4000 rpm gives 180 hp and 4500 rpm gives 200 hp. But with a remap you have 250 hp at 4000 rpm and 275 hp at 6000 rpm. It's a big engine and it make sense to remap the engine (by a professional and well known tuner).

Why is the 100-200 so slow? I have the polo 6c gti 1.8tsi dsg and mine does it in around 18 seconds. Either your timing is wrong or the gearing is too long with this car?

This polo gti tho has a lower rated 6 speed box and it needs mapping and stuff to be able to handle more torque. Also the polo gti only comes in an auto. Idk why everyone thinks there’s a manual version.

After the 1.4 EA111 it was obvious they had to put an engine in if they ever wanted to sell a Polo GTI again. Not that the EA triple-eight is much more reliable, it's a ticking time-bomb, but at least it performs properly without over stressing the already on the limit components. I wouldn't trust this engine to last very long anyway.

From plastic chain tensioners to plastic PCV, from coils sitting on top of the engine to dual engine loop cooling or whimpy micronized HPFP. Ofc one can alway make a complex engine reliable but that is designed to FAIL very quickly and very conveniently for the manufacturer. Take the coils for examples: you put them in a single pack where is cooler and run a bunch of cables to the spark plugs. They already had such a system working reliably for decades in other engines, I reckon with a production cost similar to the 4 integrated coil and pipe... but that wouldn't have failed as quickly and as frequently. Ticking time-bomb.

I've got a 1.6 diesel Mk7 golf and apart from the power it doesn't seem to act much differently than mine. The dsg gearbox sounds slower than mine and seems to have less hesitation

I thought that it’s lies.. but I actually got better mileage per tank. 500km city driving 720-800km on the highways at 120-140km/h oh and its manual. Idk much about dsg boxes but you’ll never know till you actually remap it 😅

If engagement is what you are after, then consider the ST line up from Ford. Unbeatable bang for your buck. Or an older BMW indeed, as you suggested, although the maintenance on those are a bit more expensive.

The Polo GTI needs a remap of the ECU. I have the same GTI and I did the remap. The engine changed totally!

You ned to test The 6C With manuel and 320Nm befor tuning. That is a lighter Car, 1197Kg. It is faster then this one.

The golf 8 GTD really is a good car it’ll get amazing fuel economy and is almost as fast

@@4039byrne I have a stage 2 2014 polo tdi and it’s been good so far the next service is going to cost about 3k too lol😂but it’s as expected cause it’s 7years old
@@spookyreaper1702 I was going to get mine remapped but don't think the dsg gearbox is up for the job. I managed to break it with 105 hp so 150 is not going to help
@@4039byrne when I was stage 1 it increased the fuel economy I was so shook. I thought that it’s lies.. but I actually got better mileage per tank. 500km city driving 720-800km on the highways at 120-140km/h oh and its manual. Idk much about dsg boxes but you’ll never know till you actually remap it 😅
I was considering a Polo gti, but it seems really boring to me, sorry. I wonder if an older BMW 1 series is more fun? Or maybe a mk5 GTI might be more engaging?
If engagement is what you are after, then consider the ST line up from Ford. Unbeatable bang for your buck. Or an older BMW indeed, as you suggested, although the maintenance on those are a bit more expensive.
