    What a great way to get those “campfire guitars” playing better without going crazy on a full neck reset…a lot great advice for us newbies. Thanks Beau👍

    Wow, fast repair, but even faster player at 7:30 😂😂
    I m really impressed that you managed to stay under an hour. It was very interesting to see that it is possible to get the old frets back in without major issues. I also checked your new neck reset data sheets on the website. Thank you for sharing all of that 😊

      Thanks :)- this is a good way to get a beater going again. Better guitars (with removable necks) its more appropriate to do it properly and reset the neck.

    I repaired and set up a very similar “nameless” guitar for a family member. No manufacturer’s marks at all. We think it may have been purchased with “Marlboro Miles” back in the 1990s.

    🏆You win for sheer speed! Speaking of cheap guitar fixes: A 1980s Fender laminate-top acoustic I’m working on (to gift or sell) has intonation is 12 to 16 cents off across the board. The strings can’t be the cost, can they? They’re newish, but have come on and off a few times (for new saddle, fret level, bridge pinhole slotting). It’s not worth further work and I can only guess factory mistake. Thoughts?

    • @BeauHannamGuitars
      @BeauHannamGuitars  8 месяцев назад

      All you can do is play the open string then play it at the 12th fret and get them as close as you can. I aim for within 5cents

    With a board plane where you have to take off a lot what do you use to deepen the fret slots as you go give that the finger board is bound (ie can't just run a saw through the slots).

    So many good points of information in just 11:20 minutes...just wondering, you didn't heat the frets for removal, did you assume that on a cheap guitar they wouldn't be glued? Would it have made a difference if they were? The only time I pulled frets I was struggling to get them to seat and had already made a mess of it so I didn't learn much;)

    • @BeauHannamGuitars
      @BeauHannamGuitars  9 месяцев назад +1

      I think i mention heat. I do a test without heat with the chip stoppers and if the frets are pulling out nice without chipping then i dont bother with heat. If they chip out then heat is used.

      Background music is so tricky! - you mean when I’m talking right?
      Every time I think I have it low enough in the mix someone still complains! Hahah- it’s good to know and I’ll lower it more next time. Thanks for mentioning it.

    • @alandust2188

      @BeauHannamGuitars yes, while you're talking, not the times when you just use it for fill in while you're not talking. I always enjoy you're videos but music while people are talking makes me want to keep beat to the music and I miss what's being said. I'm from a different generation I guess is the problem. My kids listed to music while doing their homework. Then again, neither one was a good student. Anyway, thanks so much for doing what you do. I can always mute and use closed caption, but you have a pleasant voice, and I hate to miss out on that. Oops, forgot to start with, straight away.
