Enya Nova Go Sp1 New Strings and Lower Bridge

- I picked up this little carbon fibre acoustic/electric travel guitar recently and found the action a bit high, and the strings a bit on the heavy side, so switched the factory strings out for the D'Addario Acousic Xt Phosphor Bronze Custom Lights. Apologies for the crappy sound. The new strings really are much brighter and richer. It was my first time using Adobe Audition, so lots to learn still.
Lowering the bridge made a big difference as well. Just a couple of tweaks, and this guitar plays like something twice the price. If you are looking for something virtually indestructable with a great sound and the flexibility of acoustic or electric, this little gem fits the bill.

I would also suggest putting metal pins into the saddle (replacing the 6 current ones), this will give you more treble and sustain.
Nice job! I just got one yesterday! My bridge is high as well. And my go-to string for all my acoustics are XT 11s or Earnie Ball Earthwoods. I’m gonna do the same thing you did on this guitar. Thanks for the video!
I put a set of 9’s from my electric guitars and it really made a difference. Still plays great and the electric portion is more responsive.
Did the same thing but prefer the 80/20 bronze without Phosphor. Unfortunately the case they sent was cheaper than advertised. Probably doesn't even need one.
Since the day I bought this guitar, I am feeling exactly the same issues: very hard to press guitar strings & a much higher bridge causing considerable higher playing action.

How is the sound projection turned off, does it sound like a baby guitar, or lower?
The sound is remarkably good, even without being turned on. It doesn't sound or feel like a toy, but a quality guitar. I often won't bother turning it on if I am just picking it up for a quick session, because it sounds fine as is. Hope this helps. 🙂

for what i can appreciate on the video you lost a lot of sound volume with lowering the strings yes you get better action but you sacrifice sound, thank you for the video.
I really did a horrible job of recording the audio, so that is my fault. It does sound and play better now. 😊

It sounded better before you changed the strings and filled the bone bridge. Should Have left it alone
Apologies for the crappy recording. I have been planning to do a better post-swap version. If you were wondering about the buzz, I was nervous playing while recording and hit the strings too hard. ;) It really does play much nicer and more comfortably with the new strings and lower bridge. But appreciate you taking the time to comment.
@@terransnaturesoul It definitely sounds better and brighter after changing the strings and lowering the bridge. This also is the general consensus on this guitar. Can I ask what the height of the saddle is now?
@@Gaby441 sorry, I don't recall the exact height, but it is about 2mm at it's highest point above the bridge.
