I think you'd love the cards with the WWII pics. I'm very interested in this game, because I do love cards games (the living ones like Lord of the rings, Arkham Horror, Marvel champions). I saw other videos of this DVG product and some of the players liked it, some others not so much.. I'm looking for you own opinion.
Yeah they are gorgeous! Now I just got to learn how to play ;) But this game is #1 in my que, so you should not have to wait for too long. Thank you very much for taking the time to comment! Getting feedback from people who watch is what makes running this channel worth it!
I would estimate about the first 50 pages of the rule book are the base gameplay for all the various core sets. Once you get to the Shadow War section (my personal favorite game) it gets into more specialized rules. The Eastern Front is available through the 2 Russia expansions. That also introduced environment into the gameplay as you have to deal with the Russian cold. Environment is featured heavily in the Pacific with both heat and fever. Just one more thing for your soldiers to deal with. Given that they now are releasing the MTO and Africa as core sets, I’m guessing if DVG could go back they would make the Eastern Front a fully fleshed out set as well, but the expansions still do the trick.

IMHO, This is a great game. I hope you have at least half as much fun as I did playing it. Looking forward to watching your playthroughs. The only thing I find irritating about DVG is the tons of errata. It has almost gotten to the point where I just hold off buying anything until it's clear what the errata situation is for the game. For example, The recent B-17 Leader expansion (and all the other air-leader expansions?) was missing 1/3 of its contents. They eventually released the missing material, but it took a while. And you have to wonder how something like that would get past them before they shipped.
Man that is annoying. Yeah errata seem to be a big problem for almost all solo wargames for some reason. There are several DVG games that I haven't bought after reading about their errata problem, like Corsair leader.
Thanks for the very detailed unboxing - that's the last DVG series I'm to try - unfortunately neither Leader series nor Field Commander series settled well with me, still, I'm keeping high hopes for this one.
Did you try the Valiant defense series? The latest game about the defense of the Danzig post office was really great. Thank you for commenting! I hope to do a playthrough soon.
@@WW2SolitaireBoardGameChannel Not yet, but to be honest the more "puzzly" nature of the Valiant Defense and less interesting battles (I'm still into major battles) puts me off.
@@przemekbozek Pavlov's House is more like a traditional wargame than the other parts of the series. It's still not a traditional wargame but closer. It's my favorite solo game
@@WW2SolitaireBoardGameChannel Thanks for the recommendation, I've noticed it has an app, I'll get it in the next Steam Sale and give it a try in a cheaper version first😁
good video. helped me choose between modern or ww2

@@LutinesqueLutin You do more comments than most! So don't worry. Thank you very much!
Good video, thanks for the really complete look. :)

Thank you very much for the info Jason! I noticed yesterday when I sat down with the rules that I only had to read until page 50 😁
