  • What's that, more Warfighter WWII?! Yeah, it is, and this is a cool one, because it's the first WWII core set that gives you playable Axis forces in the box. Get your pasta and wine ready to fend off the Allies landing in Sicily!

One thing that is also new with Mediterranean & North Africa is the ''situation cards'' (or well, new as in it comes with the core game box)
They generally make the mission more difficult but can add an extra twist to a mission.
Like one situation card is that you must have atleast 4 Sqaud soldiers and keep keep atleast 4 of them alive throughout the mission. But you gain extra recourse points.
And also with Warfigher you can mix & mash everything.
I have already played plenty of games playing as the US vs Germans or Italians vs US using the Mediterranean locations, action deck & missions.

I've tried using sleeves, and I don't much care for the slickness. It's way too easy to lose control of a stack of sleeved cards; I always have to be mindful of how I pick them up, or the ones in the middle will squirt out like a bar of soap from my hand.
I love stories of plucky rebels fighting tyrannical government, so I want to get the Maquis and Italian Partisans expansions, and thanks for mentioning the Vichy French vs resistance; I hadn't thought of that. Also, I've read that the Italians didn't appreciate the way that the Germans had looked down on them and mistreated them, so I'll be staging post-Armistice battles between the freed Italians and their German abusers.
Keep up the good work, gentlemen!

I had the original Warfighter WW2 and really enjoyed it. I got frustrated at the time from the lack of expansions available. I eventually ditched it when Marvel Champions game out which is probably my favorite game. However, I do miss Warfighter, and I'm contemplating getting back into with the Pacific Theater version. I'm curious as to what the sci-fi will look like.

Curious if the expansions cover the other core game settings that are out of stock since I can only find the Pacific setting avaliable.

I think of the 15 or so expansions in this "cycle" one of them is for Europe, but most are for Med/North Africa core sets.

Hey guys! I'm really hoping you can do a Warfighter: Fantasy playthrough because... ahem... I'm having a ton of trouble parsing the rules from the enormous rulebook(s). Help a fella out!

I can’t decide between War of the Ring, Empire of the Sun, and the Combat Commander Europe/Med bundle. I can only get one. The war games I own and enjoy are Twilight Struggle, Combat Commander Pacific, Fields of Fire, and Band of Brothers: GP. I would not consider myself a Tolkien nerd but would say I’m a massive fan. The difference being I didn’t read deeper than Silmirillion but love the movies and books. However, I also am a history buff specifically for PTO WW2. So theme doesn’t bias me because I’m invested in both and hope to own both but for now do you have a preference? In terms of Combat commander- I feel like this deal is a massive steal. Basically getting a CC game for $15. I really like CC:P but idk if it’s worth getting. Are they pretty much the same just with a bit of a different feel for the the? Oh also I want competitive and strategic play. Rule weight is not a problem.
    Thanks, Jesus bless!✝✌

*are they basically the same just with a different feel to make the theme more emphasized?

Ooft, tough choice. War of the Ring is literally the movies in a box.
Combat Commander bundle is. As you say, an absolute steal, and it’s also a known quantity by you. It’s not some rules differences but is essentially the same.
Empire of the Sun is a true CDG that’s both sandboxy but also huge in scope.
I would say if you want more of what you like, CC is a safe bet. If you want something new and complex EotS.

@@GOOSEYGOGGLESVR The WWII is also what I prefer over their modern iterations. Would be game for a WWI version, though.

The whole series has a problem with being clear about who you’re playing and who you’re fighting. Many of the expansions have cards for both, many of which are useless if you don’t have the core module for that side. I have a whole box of cards I don’t need.
