Fantastic video....Informative and educational....Also a time capsule for the days of a strong American. And a tribute to the Men that performed these tasks..with skill and muscle. Such a great era of people and progress in our Country..Said with total Respect to our Nation and our Tradesmen...But this is where we can from. Godspeed and safety to all in this field of work...Past and Present...Much Respect from St Petersburg Florida
@@nobodythatyouknow241 Now that is something I missed but was always curious about. I have never seen a good video about A frame logging. The photos I have see were always impressive.
@@deancj1 Safety makes for complacency. I can't tell you how many chap wearers are constantly knicking their chaps & replacing them every 6 months. I almost like this film as it is almost romantic (contemporary music). The clearcutting of forests a clue as to what the unconscious consumption of material needs looks like. To those brave men and women who worked the earth to it's bones: mining, whaling, fishing, crabbing, warring, hunting, birthing, sailing, shipping, trucking, using the strength of the human body to wrestle, pull, prod, poke, explode, cut, chop, tear, capture and sneer at, may you know the perfection of God before, during and after said extraction of God's work. Amen (my sincere apology for dampening the mood for the pure joy of work, for which a man must not merely endure, but be grateful for). Be careful out there.
Feel Blessed and Privileged to have been able to work with my Grandad who was born in 1915 The Work Ethic And Skills that we learned from the old timers is not being passed on so much anymore this new generation don’t know what they’re missing out on 😎🍻
Your Grandfathers Grandfather said the same thing about him and his generation. You can read old newspapers dating back from the early-mid 1800s saying the same thing about the Edwardian generation, the silent generation, the boomers, etc. Every generation has always said the younger generation was entitled and lazy.
Done choking and A frame choking in Gold River in the 50's. This film brings back memories . Fred
oh man that would have been awesome to see.
I logged 25yrs ago in south Carolina. It was swampy land so I drove a huge skidder pulling logs. Still the most fun job I've ever had
This is one of the best explanations of old school highlead logging. I am experienced. Spent nearly 10 years logging like this.
