That was an incredibly good Blues side, to be able to beat QLD with Langer, Meninga, Renouf...etc A truly great origin side. No BS too like you see today. No constant smack talking and verbal crap. Just good, hard, quality NRL. The best era for sure.
Always loved how Qld got to use their own yellow Qld ball when playing at home. Greatest era of Origin, Greatest players. No major sponsors on the sacred jerseys were allowed, just on the sleeves. Rugby League at its most Purist.
I remember this game being Big Mal's last origin. I love Mal Meninga .Big Mal's career was miraculous . But Im a NSW fan and Benny Elias also playing in his last origin spoiled the show

Harrigan was the best ref. He always let the game flow. Never picked on little errors as penalties.

Big Mal did go out on a BIG high. The Raiders won the premiership that year.
